I hope that you will feature some cooks on the hasty bake as well. I just purchased one used and intend to have some fun cooking on it. But some new content would be great to help out. All of the content with Hasty bakes is years old.
Nice review. That side table can go to the end of the handle so that you have plenty of room to open or close the exhaust vents. Those latches for the lid are mostly to secure the lid if you are taking it somewhere. I have the 357 Pro with the same lid and I never latch the lid while cooking or when I'm not. I'm pretty sure that the 258 doesn't have any internal stainless steel parts. The all stainless steel models have stainless steel internals.
I cooked on it a lot before I made this video. It’s a great grill! I’m not a huge fan of the price but the build quality and premium features are great.
I think i love this grill. Unfortunately Hasty Bakes website and lack of clarity in listing dimensions or drawings is problematic. Website lists 30x 21x47 as overall dimensions, but i know thats not accurate with the side handle/shelf and front shelf. Could you tell me what those shelves measure? Thansk
the ash collector pan is designed for a large aluminum foil to be placed in it to easily rollup and dispose of! They now come in stainless steel and will not rust.
Gourmet Pro 259 $2999. Well worth the extra money since grates are Stainless Steel (not nickel plated) and entire grill is Stainless Steel. My grill now and my grandsons grill for many years.
If you move the side shelf out further like it should be the vents are much easier to access. The end of the shelf fits outside the end of the metal handle. Smoke on!!

Those latches come in handy for long smokes, helps seal her up tighter and easy to drop temp if needed.

I would upgrade the nickel plated grates in this to Stainless Steel grates ($95). No rust and easier to clean.

If you drop the ash pan lower, you can lower the fire basket even lower.

Also, the internals on that model are not stainless. The 259 is full stainless inside and out.

I tried to get it further out but it didn’t fit right! Probably user error.

Help me decide: Legacy or Gourmet?
Gourmet 259 was my choice. Lid is excellent and No Rust. Lifetime grill, then grandson gets Paw Paw’s grill for more years of use.
Move the tray table over the handle and you will have plenty of room
