That episode when Robin was hallucinating? That was highkey scary. Slade's speech there really can't be done justice.

The toxic dust that made Robin hallucinate is most likely an callback to Scarecrow, one of Batman’s dangerous villians who is well known for his fear gas which literally gas that makes his victims hallucinate their worst fate so if you guys think about it, Robin’s worst fear is that he won’t be able to be strong enough to defeat Slade for good
Yea and before that his worse fear was that he and slade were alike. Robin was terrified at the thought that his Red X persona was almost exactly the same as Slade. This also mirrors the theme that batman is similar to his villains. In batman Arkham knight the main plot of the game was that Scarecrow's toxin made Batman's fear of becoming a villain (specifically the joker) true.
What's really crazy about that Terra gaslighting scene, is that when Slade said he was watching her, he literally mentioned that wherever Terra went, disaster followed. I'm talking avalanches of mountains, mudslides, earthquakes. Like he did a lot of research to show that he knows better and that her teammates will not be your friends if you they knew how much damage you've done to many other areas. I think that was part of the reason she didn't like the fact that they knew, because if they knew, she has to explain all the damage she's done in her lifetime and that wouldn't make her out as a hero. And that's if I'm remembering this correctly...

The terrifying thing about Slade is that Robin couldn't even kick Slade's ass in HIS OWN DREAM.

Imagine how cold you have to be to where your robot--not you, your ROBOT--prevents their enemy from falling to their death just to keep whupping their ass. Slade had to program that into the robot somehow.

I always thought that that slade bot was being remote controlled of sorts rather than pure bot, given he has the capabilities to do such a thing using Terra for example so why not a bot.
You know what's crazy? If Robin hadn't been so determined to do it himself, he could have called Batman up. Batman definitely has the resources to figure out Slade.

@@rest1111 Unfortunately, Teen Titans was focused on the kid superheroes. They basically made the adult superheroes incompetent just so we, the audience, could root for the kids. A good thing Young Justice and the DC Comics animated movies didn't fully go that route. Although, I am still salty at them having Damien be a threat to Deathstroke.
Slade represents every anime/cartoon villain that makes the main protaginists lives a living hell by beating the breaks off them every fight they get into, living inside their head 24/7 rent free and has a big issue with them being happy for 0.01 second (Sephiroth with Cloud for example)
Also, that was the exact same question I asked when Slade took over the city and Trigon conquered the earth. Where the hell was the Justice League all this time? Were they trapped in Apokolips fighting Darkseid or something?
Deathstroke was on his EDP type beat, he groomed Terra into becoming his pawn and what even crazy is that Terra was evil from the get-go in other versions of Teen Titans
I love how the creators couldn't call him Deathstroke because it's a kids show WHEN EVERYTHING HE DOES IS EVERYTHING BUT KID FRIENDLY

What's even more messed up is that this is supposed to be the "kid-friendly" version of the character. In the comics, he's way worse. Man shot Impulse (the second Kid Flash) in the knee at point blank range. The things he did to Terra, ugh. Why you may ask? Because Deathstroke almost ALWAYS runs Batman's pockets when they fight. Even a severely weakened (slower, physically weaker, and less reactive) Deathstroke who is disoriented by having both eyes almost beat Batman to death SOLO. Batman only survived the encounter because Harley blows up the building, putting the fight into a stalemate.
Deathstroke is basically Batman on roids, even Batman's own teammates have said that Deathstroke is better than Batman when it comes to planning and straight stats. He is a Meta, if you didn't know, Deathstroke was part of a Super Soldier program.
