I’m convinced this game is meant to keep in the dumb idiots who allow this horrible grind to exist as long as it does currently. Game this bad with the exp system would be dead in a few years.
every game where you can lose is like this dont let it get you down i haven't even got into br2 of war thunder but i want to play more just so there's a chance you have someone competent on your team
As someone who has played dozens of multiplayer games, War Thunder easily has the worst playerbase. There are games where the players are more toxic or selfish, but I've never played a game where a majority of the playerbase just actively throw every match out of sheer ignorance. Rank III and IV air realistic are just baffling. US prop pilots are actually worse than bots. I haven't played a game in 3 years where there isnt't at least one or two people flying straight from airfield to kill ground targets in fighters. Or you try and play ground RB, and are met with 25% of your team dying and leaving, 50% spawn a heavy or a tank destroyer and camp from spawn, and the final 25% rush around the map edge and spawn camp. Quality game design, obviously players should just stop abusing the game. /s I've met far too many people who get 1 kill and die by playing like a prick, and then will defend their "playstyle" to their grave because they get at least 1 kill every game. I'm losing faith in humanity.
Funny you should bring up US pilots because I've noticed an interesting dynamic developing between them and A6M weebs. Zero pilots are also absolutely braindead, but because they're usually put up against US mains mowing the lawn they keep getting free stomps. Gaijin had to raise the BR of all the A6Ms recently, and it's not because they're good planes. Anyone with two braincells to spare knows you can just fly away from them, but somehow US mains piloting the fastest planes in the game don't.
I had to cut it down for time but I'm pretty sure I ruined his engine in that first pass. I throttled down to nothing and he could still barely catch me.
This is why I try to stop caring about winning or losing since losses are going to be inevitable and letting something like that affect you in a video game is basically just self torture.
2-3 ai air targets = 1 human the inability of players in this game to due the most basic things is impressive. Whether it be how passive most of the playerbase is in tanks or suicidal they are at the the end of plane matches.
I think it's closer to 10 AI = 1 human, but that's beside the point anyway. The takeaway here is that it's more than 0, which is what all three people who went after that Ta 152 got.
Getting flashbacks to SvM where people would abandon capture points to boredom. 3 capture points, 4 potential defenders and you would still wind up with a totally unmanned post.
Quick question: How did you turn on the extra HUD (the bit at the top of the screen). Been playing warthunder for a while now and it's the first time I've ever seen it. There's some stuff there that looks really useful, especially for arcade battles.
"Why win the game when you can just lose?* I'm going to be typing this in chat everytime i witness my team fucked themselves under 2 minutes over AA or one single Wyvern ground pounding.
Is this worse than any match with a ubersaw chainer/ someone who seriously think frontier justice + gunslinger is worth it in mvm when hybrid knight exists Edit: oh nvm they're worse
AA is fucking stupid. The only counter-play to AA campers is forcing them out with a ticket lead, and even then some are just spiteful brats who will run the timer out instead of risking their K/D to win the game. If you can't flip the ticket lead your only options are either dive AA (which is so strong now it's a guaranteed death) or give up. That wasn't the case in this game, and the players on my team who dove AA one by one to chase that guy were being dumb, but AA as it stands is definitely too strong. The fact that I keep seeing people knowingly abuse it for wins is a testament to this. If the timer was longer, if ticket bleed wasn't so fast, and if there was some way to disable the enemy's airbase AA through killing ground targets, then maybe I could understand it being so strong, but right now it's broken and people are using it to get wins they don't deserve. Also mid-map AA is utterly unjustifiable and needs to be removed.
@@Sliphantom Certain maps definitely are easier to exploit with AF AA, due to the ridiculous ticket bleed. I don’t think it should be entirely removed, just that players should always have to do 95% of the work for it to affect the outcome of the match. I think having the main airfield serve as a point of relative safety is good. The hit scanning damage is an annoying system that needs to be updated; but at the end of the day making AF AA too weak could be easily exploited, especially if the AA guns themselves remain destructible. Just like how no one likes AF campers, no one would like the player that just circles around the enemy AF, farming kills for their K/D. This could be especially bad in EC, where AF spawn camping is commonplace already. Basically I think countering AA should require more skill than luck; it’d be stupid if you could just fly in a straight line directly over the AF and kill someone rearming, but it would be a “fun” challenge to use terrain and aircraft maneuverability to avoid getting fatally damaged. Maybe implementing reload/cool down times for the AA could work too, or increased accuracy/damage the longer you stay in the area, at the cost of lethality in the first couple minutes. At the end of the day though, stupid players should win stupid prizes. Fuck battlefield AA, especially at low tiers.
Hahaha, ah at least I'm not alone with shit like that. I'm wondering how long it'll take for people to figure out that active playtime gives you a reward multiplier, so having a 25min match where you get a bunch of ai kills and base damage is far more profitable than flying 5 5min games. But hey at least you aren't playing 9.0-10.0 Ground RB, where you meet the "Magical" teammates. PS: never play IKEA, I absolutely love Sweden, but it is so frustrating to always get the short end of the stick.
I distinctly remember a point being made about that in one of the tutorials... But then it's been years since I played any of the tutorials so it may well have been removed in newer versions.
Just remember that when Gaijin says they balance on stats, these are the players they're getting the stats from.

Genuinely asking because I'm curious - how do you get teammates to group up in an air or tank match before attacking?

Only sliphantom can dogfight in a bomber. Scary stuff
When your bomber is not just dogfighting successfully but also acting as a gunship...

Why exploit someone’s passiveness when you can throw your plane at AA?

Tbh i didn't know that you could make the enemy team lose tickets by shooting ground targets until about 1300 hours in.
