Thanks for the extra tips...Reiki is also good, it disrupts the seizure signals from the brain to the body...and also place an "Ice Pack" in the middle of their back, the cold also disrupts the misfired storm of signals and helps them pull out of it quicker..the more tips the BETTER!!!1

I actually used your technique of the pressure point underneath my dog Timber's nose...early this morning during a "Change of weather and temperature" seizure....he responded "Rapidly" it was amazing...I also added flaxseed oil and Bcomplex along with Bach Flower essence - Rescue remedy to curtail frequencies...but the pressure point technique is the most valuable in the midst of an emergency....again thanks so much...Timber my black, 90 lb. flat coated retriever says thanks too!
      All should know this!
P.S. I use and spray liberally each time my dog goes out with Avon's "Skin so Soft" to keep the bugs away naturally for my dog especially since he has those seizures...it works. Also, a scoup of Haagen Daas Vanilla ice cream helps with the blood sugar levels after a dog has a seizure, I'm doing this as well...he loves it..

@@cheyenneskylark Was your dog diagnosed with epilepsy by a veterinarian? One of my dogs has temporal lobe epilepsy, and any type of sensory stimulation makes her seizures last *longer*. She has to have rectal Valium when she is actively seizing to abort the seizure because they impact her ability to breathe, and it's the only thing that works for her acutely, but some herbs do help with anxiety, which can trigger seizures in dogs with epilepsy.

This sounds like over neuro stimulation from the damn microchipping 🤬

My cat started to have seizures for no reason. So I searched what things I did differently for her and found that I was feeding her a new kind of meat from the supermarket. The meat I was giving her was actually sprayed with red dye. Even if you wash the meat, it does not totally come off. The seizures did not appear immediately after feeding her. She started having seizures maybe two or three weeks later, and she did not eat it every day, so the link was not obvious. The seizures stopped as soon as I stopped feeding her this meat. For me, it was as simple as that. Thank God.

Hmm I started feeding my cat chicken because his protein was low, and as soo as I gave it to him he enjoyed it, and I think he had a seizure but he also could be dehydrated, I'm not sure what to do, hopefully I can get him in to see the vet today

Glad you showed the acupressure point at the base of the nose. Just a note- This point should NOT be activated except DURING a seizure.
I have used this point with GREAT success with two large boxer/lab/rottie mixs who have had the occasional petite mal, and more recently with a cat I rescued who has feline hyperestesia (air biting) and focal type seizures which twice recently evolved into grand mals. That acupoint worked to snap the kitty right out of the grand mals with about 20-30 seconds of firm pressure to the point. I'm going to start him on belladonna straight away while we try and figure out the underlying cause. The cat is blind, and a tad overweight so looking at possible diabetes after we rule out FeLV, FIV, etc.
There's another vet on youtube who also suggests a freezer pack mid-spine, which theoretically can interrupt the transmission of the seizure signals from the brain... Thanks for this great post!!!

We had a work up by the vet after our dog was looking worried , tail down , skittering, fly biting, not able to settle, at irregular intervals for a month or two. When I looked online someone suggested gabapentin which my vet gave me and he gets it twice a day, symptoms greatly reduced, lasts only a few seconds now. Have added in many of the natural supplements, occasionally use the acupressure point dr Jones has suggested. Thank You Dr Jones!!!💝

Shih Tzu-Maltese has just been diagnosed with Idiopathic Epilepsy four days ago and I’ve been reading a lot about it and its possible natural remedies. From all the readings I had, i’m convinced to try the CBD oil but yet to get one. Is your dog still having seizures or it went away by now? I have yet to read more about turmeric for epileptic dogs. I've read that microchips on dogs cause neurological damage on them. They also cause tumors and cancerous growths on the site where the microchip was placed. My blonde chipoo began to have seizures two to three years ago. I took her to the vet and they told me that she is ok neurologically. And the blood work was ok too. She wanted me to give her medicine pheno barb. I gave it to her three days and she was sleepy, lethargic, and immobile. Today she had a seizure and last week too. Today's seizure lasted 5 minutes long. This one was pretty scary .she even shrieked. I honestly thought she was going to die today. She doesn't like good quality organic chemical free foods. She likes pedigree. Meaning she likes bad quality foods. Perfumes, flea products, flea sprays, seem to trigger her seizures. I think bone treats seem to trigger it too. I've started her on omega 3 last week and still can't tell if it has made a difference. I value Daniela's liver and I don't want to give her pheno barb. Besides the fact that she will become a little butterball taking it. Can anybody give me any suggestions. Honestly I don't think she will last long. She is only 7 yrs old.

    • @shyaa4297
      @shyaa4297 7 лет назад +2

Phenobarbital really sucks when it comes to side effects but why in the world would u rather risk her life if you think she won't last long. I know the drug itself if brutal. My dog has had seizures since she was 3 and now she is 10. As long as you monitor the phenobarbital and liver function it's worth it especially if you think she may not last long when this can very well make her life last a lot longer if you are patient and start slow. Fight for the sake of her since she doesn't have a voice. Try to stick with it and make sure they start her on a really low dose. Best of luck.

Our 15 year old cat got her first seizure (that we know of at least) on May 12, then May 23 and May 24. Every time she gets a seizure her entire body rolls and pounds on the floor; not simple twitching or paddling like we've seen in epilepsy videos. We have contacted her vet and he suspects epilepsy. She had had a nipple tumor removed last November and two days ago I noticed a new lump in her abdominal area. We've had her since birth, she never got ill. Please help us with tips/ what you think it might be. We hope she doesn't have a brain tumor. Thank you and God bless.

Okay kids, and Doc. I'm going to tell you how to get rid of seizures. First off, thank you so much doc for all that you do.
This is from my own experience, I'm not a doctor I don't sell anything. Out of 10 dogs, only one had cancer, one day I caught him out in my shed licking the open bag of fertilizer, so I'm sure that's what happened to him. Out of the other nine dogs I never had to put one to sleep, they just got old and fell asleep. 20 years old, 19 years etc. they had a healthy good run, no tumors, no lipomas nothing. Anyway, back to the seizures. One of my little ones was having seizures every great once in awhile, nothing to really be concerned about at the time, but then they started happening much more often.. Here's one of the things that I did that worked fantastic. Aloe vera plant, the big long leafs, cut the skin off take the gel and put it in their food twice a day, you'll be amazed. In the meantime if they have a seizure, good brand of the CBD oil spray, a couple of sprays in their mouth while having a seizure will most likely stop it within a minute or so. Also like someone else mentioned, ice pack on their back. Hope that this info helped. We love our doggies. Oh, the dog that was having the seizures is a chihuahua. I have three Chihuahuas and one Fila Brasileiro which is a Brazilian Mastiff. Take care everyone

@@susancollins6805 Hello Susan, hope you are doing well. You'll have to find aloe vera, the actual long stalk. Cut the skin off and add the gel directly to the little ones food, twice a day if possible. There is no special time limit, you'll see that the seizures will go away. And if you have high blood pressure take some yourself lol. In the meantime when he's having a seizure put an ice pack on his back,, also if you have CBD oil just spray some in his mouth while having the seizure that should stop it in a minute or so. But, the aloe vera will put a stop to them! Please keep me informed Susan how everything went.

We add magnesium glycinate to our dogs RAW food and she doesn't have seizures / leg cramps anymore. This magnesium can be bought at any health food store. One capsule opened up, mix into their food.
This same magnesium will also help humans from heart palpitations, natural pain relief, relief from constipation, it will also relax us (anti-stress)...
The majority of us and dogs are deficient in magnesium.

My Sadie, an elderly Corgi-Pem had an extremely violent seizure last night which began in her sleep. This is the first violent, uncontrollable seizure (lasting possibly 4-5 minutes). She was drooling and hacking terribly. She often does kicking with her hind legs (over the past year or a little longer she has lost complete mobility in her hind quarters, which seems to be a common disorder in Corgis, German Shepherds and other breeds.) But I have always put her kicking down to dreaming. Whenever I wake her during her usual sleep-kicking, she has always immediately stopped kicking and come to full focus. Last night's grand-mal is the first she has ever had, with foaming at the mouth, and seemingly without awareness or focus. It was extremely violent and involved the whole body and being.
Sadie just turned 16 years old. She has been on a BARF diet since turning ten, feeding once a day around Six PM. She has never had a major illness until the loss of her hind quarters and now this grand-mal.
Sadie gets magnesium in her drinking water, and also a tsp butter in the morning, afternoon and then a Tbsp in the evening with her BARF meal to support/nourish her heart; recently I have begun to add Hemp-seed oil to her evening meal. It is more complete than flax seed oil for both human and animal; however, I ran out of Hemp-seed oil a few weeks ago, but yesterday she did get about 2 tsp with her evening meal.
After the seizure she was whining so I took her outside (with her hind quarters support I have fashioned) in case she needed to move her bowls or pass urine. I don't think she did either. I have worked with humans who had severe seizures and know that often times a bowl movement occurs; Sadie never has bowel or bladder mistakes in the house and she didn't evacuate her bowels or pass urine. (1 tsp pure cranberry juice with her meal has prevented any occurrence.) All she did was commence to her practice of eating snow. I had offered her water after she had calmed down, but she was not interested. When we returned to the house, she did drink some of her water.
I am wondering if her dream-like kicking has been just dreaming, all these years, or petit-mal seizures?
I will have Sadie put-down eventually, though I am hoping she dies peacefully in her sleep. I had to do the same to my Sadie, age 14y, 3m when she stopped eating. She had massive liver cancer only discovered when she whined in bed one night. I took her to the vet the next day and when the results came in, her whole liver was taken over by cancer. That I put down to commercial dog food, and the low cal meal she was on to keep her weight down. Now I know better.
    Namaste and care,
    mhikl

      Hi,
Sorry to hear of the seizure.
'I am wondering if her dream-like kicking has been just dreaming, all these years, or petit-mal seizures?'- this is likely just dreaming.
A 16 yo dog seizuring may have a brain tumor, or serious liver disease. Are you interested in seeing your vet for blood tests?

    • @mhikl4484
      @mhikl4484 8 лет назад

      Veterinary Secrets
How kind of you to take the time to reply.
I doubt that is the prob, but . . . I've used the BARF diet with her since Sadie turned 10.
Another protocol you might be interested in looking into is Walter Last's "Borax Conspiracy"-just google it for the document.
Both Sadie and I have been using it at least six years. A dentist checking out my tooth for a root canal, looked at my X-ray and kept exclaiming, "YOU have extremely strong bones!" over and over through the interview. When I returned for the work, I ask him if he meant 'for my age'. He barked back, No! For any age! I was sixty-four at the time.
February 2016, 13 months later the tooth became re-infected and I knew from experience this would be another visit and another $700 bill. Instead I began taking 1 tsp Borax and then every time the pain returned which was about every four hours; and then a last tsp at bed time; say 5~6 tsp a day. All that is not used is passed in the urine four hours later.
It took three months before the pain was finally gone; I took a break for about ten days and then completed that month on the protocol. I have now been pain free since end of May or so. I applied the same protocol (1/8th tsp) to Sadie for her sore and rotten teeth and she now no longer cracks her jaw or shows any sign of pain in her teeth; and she can use them in eating. I could not afford to have them pulled.
I will see what happens tonight and for the week. It may be time to put her down, but then I would be so lonely; and she so loves her food and seriously, smiles at me when I pick her up and rock her. She is happy (and maybe gone looney, as she was not an easy dog to learn to love; tempestuous little b.... in her early days.)
      Namaste and care,
      mhikl

From frierce, tough dog to stumbling one which needs help ketting up and doown the couch. It is sad to see the progression of it go do fast. And her father is the police drug dig here at our major airport. So her dad's dog works up here all the time catching th e baf guys and ours lives well. +Revelations Those damned vaccinations are the cause of so much suffering. Dogs don't need vaccination when they are so young (just like humans shouldn't be vaccinated for HepB at 12 hours of age) and vet science has reported that rabies lasts for at least 9 years. Yearly vax for parvo and alll sorts of other diseases are totally unnecessary and are only money makers for the vets and pharma. And, worst of alll, there are some vets who are stupid/greedy enough to give vaccines to dogs with epilepsy!! DUMB. In CA you can have your vet sign a rabies exemption form (google it). It they're not too money hungry and they have half a brain they'll sign it.

Maltese...what a jerk. I am never going back to him again. We need to get out of the vet madness and find an honorable holistic vet. Dr. Hibbler who is holistic was forced in Vet school to take a rabies shot, she on the very spot became disabled, and has been ever since. Enough said!!

My little yorkie has a cyst in the brain and for some odd reason when he drinks water, but not every time, but he had only what I can think to be a seizure. But I'm he don't lay on his side and kick. He literally flips on his back and it looks as if he like in the movie the Exorcist. He is kicking and at the same time moving all over the floor. Sometimes on his side and on his belly and I believe even on his back. He goes to OSU vet and sees a neurologist and I have explained to her what he does but it is only when he drinks water but like I said it's not every time.
Today was very scary, I'm sure for him but also me. But once im.abke to grab him and hold him and tell him it's going to be ok..that mommy has you he calms down and it stops. But it is so scary to see this and especially when I have no clue what it is or why he does it only when he drinks water. I know it wears him out after he does it as it does me also. My stress level is so high but I wouldn't give him up for the world. I just wish someone could help me figure out what is going on with him. I was asked if I have gotten it on video? Heck no, I don't have time because I'm trying to jump up and get to him. I know I should try to capture what he does but even of I was to get my camera on my phone to work fast enough, what ever he is doing he would be done. Please help if anyone has any clue what it might be.
He has many other health problems that I will list later if I hear anything back from anyone on this question. Right now I need to attend to him. Thank you.

My dog has started having seizures, not enough to go onto "meds" as they were months apart but have now increased to 2 weeks apart and are now when she is awake, so have had one whilst out , I have started giving Dorwest Valerian & Skullcap, also using the same from Phytopet [50/50 dosage] as both have calming ingredients, only been using for 10 days but seizures are now "focal" instead of "grand mall".
Mt dog is also recovering from liver failure diagnosed in May 2016, liver levels now normal, due for another blood test tomorrow .
I have also changed my dogs diet to veg/chicken/porridge, change 2 meals per week for scrambled egg with shells, white fish can also be given instead of chicken [carrots/parsnips/sprouts/turnip/sweet potato, boil then simmer until soft then mash and add cooked porridge, mix in

Patricia Gyulay Are you sure she isn't having strokes? These can look similar to seizures. One of my dogs has epilepsy, and her seizures usually either start with champing and foaming at her mouth, or twitching in one or more parts of her body on the same side, sometimes progressing to a full-blown fit. When that happens, she goes stiff like a fainting goat, falls over, pukes, pees, and poops, and runs on her side like she's going to a fire. Then, when it's over, she she breathes heavily for about 30 seconds, then gets up and continues running around excitedly for several hours afterwards, seemingly confused. But, every dog experiences seizures a little bit differently, and it can be hard to tell the difference between the two, so, it's important to consult a veterinarian.

I may try one of those remedies. My dog is having 4 or 5 seizures a day. He is a 12 year old 10lb pom. He takes enalapril and furosemide. The doctor has added pimobendan. The vet believes it possible his seizures are heart related. Roo does have an over enlarged heart. The vet believes his heart has to keep pumping harder and harder to get oxygen to the brain, and his brain is probably not getting enough oxygen. But after 5 days on the new med along with the other meds he is still having 5 seizures a day. And it's getting harder to give him his meds. He has no appetite. He is too nauseated and sluggish half the time to eat.I am going to call my vet to get further information on how to treat this disorder and to find out what to do next. But , I will also check out your newsletter.I hope the dog doesn't have brain damage. The seizures are not that intense and only last 4 or 5 minutes.

Just because he has a enlarged heart and having problems pumping does not mean hes having heart failure.Ive had dogs on heart meds before and would not recommend that unless they are diagnosed with heart failure.Have you tried any of the home remedies?Even 1/2 baby aspirin can help. Also I had a vet who admits they are encouraged to push pharmaceuticals on the pets.Keep that in mind

kitschy llamasf -- Thank you for the input kitschy. Unfortunately, you're too late. My dog Roo died on June 7th. It looked like he had another severe seizure and probably sent him into cardiac arrest. The first thing I was going to do that day was check Roo to see how he was doing. If he was still sluggish and showing no appetite I was going to take him to the vet that day. But there he was dead behind my chair there in the den.
.. I agree with you about how vets will push pharmaceuticals on pets. I suspect the samething about that stupid pimobendan the vet prescribed. When I put Roo on that new heart med he started having MORE seizures. It also made him nauseated. It killed his appetite. After 5 or 6 days on the pimobendan his appetite was gone. The vet himself said the side effects of the med is it gives the dog an upset stomach. Roo didn't eat a darn thing the last 7,8, 10 days of his life.
.. I should have given him baby aspirin or valium from the beginning.
If I get another dog I may very well change vets.

I'm really sorry about Roo.They are family and it's very hard when you are fighting for them.I have had several dogs but it never gets any easier.I have gotten frustrated with some of the vet services. There are differences and you will know it if you find one with alot of experience that isn't so inundated that something gets missed on your pet. Like human health they have a long way to go and even a really good vet can overlook something but I have found it's usually because they are so inundated and not because of lack of experience.Does not seem quite fair does it?Not to mention costs right?Alot of the vets have been trained from the beginning to push the pharmaceuticals and they usually down play side effects.I think the science diet dog food still sponsors vet outfits so you will find them pushing that brand at the vet hospital.
One other thing to look out for when you go to the vets and if you do not have very many to chose from like around here is its ok to ask questions about the drug they are giving but don't get marked as a hard case to the staff and doctor. If that happens you might as well start looking else where. You really need to look out for your little family member but they do not usually care to be challenged.I have had times where they would have died with out the prescription and other times where the prescription side effects ended it for them.If you get another dog which I do recommend and have to give medication get a 2nd opinion and try to balance how much you should give against how much you need to give.

Hi Dr. Jones I have a question, I don't understand what it means a brain trauma, I mean as I know, epilepsy is produced beacause of a brain trauma or is genetic, so when you say brain trauma as a cause of seizures or epilepsy you mean like, some parts of the brain are "damage" and that is not something releated with neurons? Sorry if my enlish is not so good but I haven't practiced in a while. Thanks!

A couple days later he started having these bad mini seizures that only last for seconds but it constantly happens. It costs over $100 for the vet to see him and I honestly don't have it at the moment. If you have any tips that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Please if anyone can answer this, the sooner and quicker would be better...earlier today my dog ended up hurting herself under the dining room table. We're not sure what she hit, but there was a loud bang from there and all of a sudden she comes out and lays on her side, body shaking and her back legs out as only one of her front paws was kept up. She did not thrash around or drool or foam at the mouth or urinate, she just kept trembling and the trembling seemed to subside and she was back to normal after we kept stroking her and gently holding her. She has now been acting fine, and after the trembling subsided there was no wobbly walking or anything, she was acting like nothing happened. I don't know if that sounds like it could be a seizure or if she was just startled by getting hurt...she's going to be 2 years old and is a small dog, never had any symptoms before that could indicate seizures (other than trembling, she's had a habit of trembling sometimes when she's scared).

      Hi,
That may be a seizure, or a 'cardiac' event. I would 1st get a veterinary exam, ruling out heart disease. Ensure that nothing your dog consumed ( ie a plant) caused this. Options are blood work, or wait and monitor- in some cases the seizures never return

I was wondering IF you could tell me what to do. A couple months ago, my 8month female dog started having seizures. Several a day. I took her to the VET and got some infection medicine and phenobarbital. Within 2 days, the seizures stopped. I continued giving her the medicine until the infection medicine was gone. I then stopped the phenobarbital. She then went 2 entire months with no seizures and no medicine. Just a normal dog. Well , this past week... she started having seizures again. 2-3 a day. Ive been giving her 1 15mg pheno every 12 hours (as prescribed). Its not doing much good. Do you think i should up the dosage Or give it to her every 8 hours instead of 12? Also, I noticed a precursor before the seizures. Her face starts shaking/twitching. Almost, like it does in full on seizure mode. I yell at her and it stops. Idk what is causing the seizures. Do you think its an infection that just came back or is it really epilepsy?

Though far from comprehensive this vid is good UP TO the discussion of natural remedies. I once had a dog who had very infrequent absence seizures and, after discussing with his vet, chose not to treat. My current dog has just developed complex partial seizures and will get anti-convulsants. Seizures are invariably very distressing but rarely dangerous except prolonged or non-terminating generalized tonic-clonic seizures, as mentioned in the video. The pattern over time can be quite variable. If you did something and there are no more seizures for 2 weeks or 6 months, it means nothing. Homeopathy and natural remedies DO NOT WORK for seizures. Your vet may not get the dose or drug right the first time for any number of reasons including the fact that no two dogs are exactly alike. If your dog has seizures of sufficient frequency or severity that you want treatment, stick with your vet.

Charles Carter, The problem with conventional drugs is that they destroy the liver and for dogs like mine who already has a compromised liver, natural remedies are better.
Natural remedies also work [just have to find the right one for you] as my dog has gone from "Grand Mall" seizures to "Focal" seizures using Valerian [natural form of Valium] and Skullcap plus other herbs.[bonus of no side effects]
Also vets will use herbal remedies in conjunction with phenobarbital ect ,as they can give a lower dose
You do know that modern medicine is derived from herbal remedies?

She arches her back, drools a bit, and her paws curl around. She often tries to find something to lean against, preferring an enclosed space. I don't like to let her stay in those because I'm afraid she'll hurt herself. I have been looking up causes and possible prevention methods. I haven't been quite able to identify the seizure though. What about when they start having a head tilt and their eyes roll back in their heads? For causes don't forget a bad reaction to a vaccine like Rabies or from those awful spot on flea treatments. Also homeopathic remedies can be dissolved in water and then just some of the liquid put in the pet's cheek. Use the plastic cap/ don't touch the remedy or put it in a metal spoon. If the pet (calms down) or seems worse initially, it is the right remedy. If not, you may need a different one.

Took my dog to the emergency vet today thinking I would get a diagnosis but after 400 dollars spent they said those standard tests (didn't have CT or MRI can't afford) didn't show up anything except the EXTREMELY high ALP from Cushings and because they didn't see her having the actual event they couldn't know for sure if it's seizures. I have CBD oil on hand that I've been giving her from Dr. Goodpet but I'm worried if that is making her ALP go higher??? As it's gone up even higher since she's been on that.
Around 30 min total time of the event yesterday and an hour today jerking then it stops a min or so then jerking again then stops then again and so on and she just wants to keep moving while she's jerking up and down. I have to hold her as I am afraid she will exhaust herself from moving that would cause a heart problem. Should I keep giving the CBD OIL? This is so upsetting to me and then to not even have a diagnosis. They said it's possible it's neurological not seizures but thought neurological could also cause seizures?

Even while laying down she couldn’t keep her head up straight. This happened once before about a month ago. exact same thing she seems fine then all of a sudden was very wobbly and couldn’t stand. Took her to he vet to do blood work but nothing came back and the next day she was fine.. I thought maybe she jsut ate something bad until it happened today.. a month later. Could it still be a seizure? If not what could it be?

Yes this could be epilepsy. Consider CBD oil. 1st talk to your vet. CBD dose is 1mg/10lbs twice daily

Hi Olivia, My dog had the same symptons and he couldnt keep his balance. He also was very wobbly and unstable. I took him to the vet and it was a ear infection that caused him to loose his equalibrium. All it took was some antibiotics and he was fine within a week.

Hi Veterinary Secrets, I have 3 dogs. Two are girls and the other is a boy. Sheila has Epilepsy and so does Camper, Lyla don't apparently. Sheila has Grand mal seizures and Camper has Myoclonic seizures. Sheila and Camper were both diagnosed with Epilepsy since they both were 3 months and 5 months. I didn't have Lyla until I became 8. Shelia was 5 months and Camper was 3 months. When I got Lyla, she was only 1 month. Lyla wasn't diagnosed with Epilepsy but she sure do have staring spells I believe is a seizure. When I tried to play fetch with her, she stared, unresponsive so I thought I talk to you and ask for your advice. Shelia is now 10 years old. Camper and Lyla are now 8 years old.. Camper and Lyla are twins, they both were born on November 24 which is on Thanksgiving. Shelia was on February 14 which is on Valentines Day.

You first need an accurate diagnosis. I would suggest getting a referral to a veterinary internal medicine specialist

my dog is one n a half months old.. when i first brought him home he had major dehydration, bacterial infection and respiratory problem ... i immediately consulted the vet and his medications were going on perfectly fine. In 4-5 days only he started putting on weight and roaming around. But yesterday he was out the whole day (playing just outside our home). he went nowhere far , in the night i saw he had salivary foam all around his mouth and some falling down.. he kept crying until i picked him up and comforted him.
this happened twice.he cried the whole night.I saw it clearly the third time ..his eyes became wide and he started shaking a little as if he had no control over himself. Foam kept coming out and it lasted about 20-30 secs. He wasent able to sleep the whole night and kept crying... what should i do?? was it a ceasure??? will he be ok?? I am really concerned please do reply.

+Manya Lal The same thing is happening to my 5 month old puppy right now, as of a week and a half ago. There is no history of any epilepsy from the breeder he came from. One weird thing, 2 weeks ago he was in the living room and we noticed his face was really puffy and hard. We thought he maybe got stung by something, because he's always picking things up int he backyard. Took him to the 24 hour hospital and they found 2 bee stingers right in the spot the doctor in the video says where the pressure point is. They gave him antibiotic and an anti inflammatory shot. A few days later is when the seizures started (though we didn't connect the dots until this past Monday, when they got worse like your description). Like your dog, he is whimpering and crying all the time. My puppy is in the animal hospital now because he was having cluster seizures. If he is able to come home, I want to change his diet to help increase the seizure threshold. Hopefully, he'll be okay and this will pass. I hope you figured things out, and were able to get your puppy some help.

      @maestrojon 8 лет назад

+Manya Lal I'm sorry for your loss. I actually wanted a distemper test when we took him in Monday, and they didn't do it with the first blood test, because they felt he hadn't been exposed enough (though he had been to that other vet and pet smart). They ended up adding that yesterday, so we haven't got the results back.

My dog Katie, started having siezures after I gave her beneful grain free dog food. After I started only feeding her boiled chicken she got much better,.
But then ,she started having them only on Sundays ??? Hmm???
Then I realized, on Sundays. She'd get right in front of the TV. And watch her favorite afv..
So I darken the TV. Lightened the color and tint and made her get back and watch from a distance,. The Sunday siezures. Has stopped,
So these TV,s today may be causing siezures also,.
I started gradually adding blue Buffalo dog food,. I know it's on the bad list too,. But it's being watched,. But so far. Shes doing fine,
I see a lot of people feed their dogs. Raw chicken,. Let me tell you. There's a little skinny bone that runs down. A chicken leg. It's like a needle. And it can stick through the dogs intestines and kill your dog. ..make sure to remove that little skinny bone on the chicken leg,,
