Our sweet standard poodle had seizures. Our vet told us it wasn’t unusual for this breed, but it didn’t make it any easier. Finally meds were prescribed and seizures controlled. ❤️
Your Puppy Dog is Beautiful. Praying for Puppy & You. Seizures are horrifing & frustrating. With all the Tests available you can't See the electrical impulses. ♡ PAW
Happy Bear is doing better. She's so cute with those eyes 💓 This was hard to watch. I lost a 5 year dog to a grand mal seizure. He never came out of it. Rushed to the vet, they gave him like a sedation, every time they bring him out of it he was still in seizure. Very hard to deal because I had no idea epilepsy could kill like that. Sorry English is not my language
Bless you, my husband has epilepsy which thankfully has been completely under control since he was put on medication(10 years ago) Praise God! Praying that your neurologist can find the right medication for you!.
Seeing this just reminded me of a dog we had, he suddenly developed epilepsy and after trying different meds prescribed by different vets the whole thing got so bad that he had to be put down. I still cry when I think of that. He was the absolute best rescue we had.
@@ladyofthecreek279 I completely understand, our routine in the house has changed so much I keep going to check on her or to let her out to toilet… I can still see her around and hear her little paws behind me, it’s only been 2 days and find myself crying in waves 🥺 my kids don’t know life without her, my other dogs missing her, it’s just so traumatic right now.. I know it’s early days but they truly are one of the family 💔. I’m so sorry you lost your little guy x
My 15 year old chihuahua used to have seizures at least once a month. One vet didn't want to put the dog on meds because they were'nt that frequent. Another vet told me I should put my dog on meds. I decided to change my dogs diet to a healthier one and started giving him one drop of CBD oil if he started acting strange. That all worked out for my little dog. He has not had a seizure in over 2 years and I no longer have to use CBD oil.
@@flowergirl3438 we tried cbd oil and whilst it appeared to help somewhat at the time it certainly didn't stop her seizures, it seemed the older she became the worse and more frequent her seizures got. I'm so glad your your little puppers doesn't have them anymore they're the most scariest thing to witness. 😥
My dog used to have epilepsy attacks since he was just three years old. The first time he had it I thought that he was having a heart attack or something similar. He had to be put down on new years because he kept getting those constantly with like a 2 second break per seizure. He was just 6.5 Years old and I still miss him a lot. But I am so happy that Bear is getting better and I wish him a long and happy life and his family of course as well^^
Every dog I've ever had has developed medical problems of one sort or another as they got older, but none of them ever had seizures. It's a horrible thing to experience and frightening to watch. Thank goodness Bear got better through medication and it wasn't a tumor in her brain. She looks like a sweet dog and it's obvious Danni and Will love her very much. ❤️
My cat had a massive seizure when he was 6 months old, and I seriously thought my heart was going to stop. One of the scariest things I've ever experienced. Took him to the ER and was too distraught to knock on the locked door, but the random woman already sitting outside started POUNDING on that door with both fists and screaming that we needed help. I owe so much to that random woman and never even got her name. My boy is all well and good now, we never did find the cause, but that was incredibly traumatic.
My darling girl and soulmate had status epilepticus seizures. We had her on the standard medications but she still seized on approximately the 6th of every month right through the medication. Local vets could not determine why it was on a schedule or why when we added CBD she went three months without an episode. When the medication and CBD stopped working the seizures came back with a vengeance. The seizure that took her life lasted over 10 minutes in the back of the car while I raced her to the Vet. We never made it. Six years later and another rescue and my heart still aches for the best friend and soul mate (human or fur baby) I’ve ever had.
My Labrador has seizures, monthly almost like clockwork. He’s a rescue and had a blood parasite transmitted by ticks that caused damage to the blood vessels in his brain, that’s the cause we think. I was so scared the first time he had a seizure 😭 He still has them but I’ve learned how to deal with them now. He’s a very good boy 💗
Teasel root is a new treatment for Lyme disease. I’m treating a chicken who has seizures with teasel tea and it’s gone from 22 seizures at one time (over 30-40 minutes) to one or none within 12 hours.
My dog has had epilepsy for almost a year now. It is the most helplessness I’ve ever felt. It truly is scary. Can happen anytime and all you do is watch and try to be there for them after. I wish there was a definite cure for it. I hate that my baby boy has to go through it. I have panic attacks and go through waves of anxiety every time a seizure occurs. He turned completely blind as well so he depends on me even more. It’s very nerve racking. My heart goes out to this couple.
My heart goes out to you Victoria and your son. I am very sorry that he has this and has lost his vision. You and your son will be in my prayers always. God bless you both with continued strength, patience, courage, and serenity.
My beagle used to have this sezuire episodes. He starts having this when he is 2 months old, the first time I saw him in this state, is terrifying. He was hospitalized for 3 days but he his fine now, quite bouncy and playful. He is 9 months now. The medication helps ever since he is taking tablets and maintenance meds. I hope you get through this just be strong and be there for him always.
I lost my previous dog from seizures at age11 and died on 27 of november this year god bless her soul and we gave her medication but she couldnt make it hopefully my heart goes out to all those dog fighters who have to live long and beat up seizures
Our lovely Jack Russell girl started having these seizures after we lost our boy to cancer. I slept on the lounge for her last two months so I could nurse her through the seizure. She seemed to become more neurologically incapacitated with each one and we finally had to make the hard decision to let her go in peace 🌈
I just watched my dog die of a sudden heart attack. We had been at the vet that afternoon to do a senior blood panel & to schedule a glucose curve as she was diabetic for seveal years. The diabetes has been well managed on 2 units of vetsulin 2x daily. This was a total shock & truly devastated me. Thank you for sharing your emotional journey with Bear & I hope she has many happy, healthy years ahead. Sometimes it feels as if vets are emotionally immune to the emotional impact our pets have on us as we are bonded to them, whereas the vet is a medical professional.
My family dog growing up was a toy poodle. He started having seizures after getting out and being struck by a car. His seizures were controlled with medication fortunately. No matter how often you see a seizure it's always scary. I always remember our little dog would act so afraid when he'd come out of a seizure, as if he thought he'd done something bad. We'd give him lots of love to assure him everything was okay.
My border collie had seizures the worst was 12 a day. I had to drive 2 hours and a ferry ride to get her to a specialist in Seattle. It took a while but with the specialist and a vet who also dis acupuncture and Eastern meds and diet we got them down to one or to a week. She lived her full life expectancy. While having seizures for 10 years. She was my one of my favorites and it was worth every dollar spent for tests and meds and office visits that it took.
1 to 2 a week for 10 years is alot. did they get worse with age? i have a mutt who started getting seizures when he was 1 this october and had one a month from then on until this march 2nd when he had 7 in 30 hours i think due to heat exhaustion as he went into a small, very warm bathroom bc of the furnace and stayed in there for three hours. this was late at night so i was sadly unaware and the toilet water was all gone when i found him but he didnt have the obvious signs of heat ex., i took him to the vet and they prescribed keppra 3x a day. he hasnt had any seizures but i started giving him keppra 2 times a day 3 days ago and only one before bed today. hes had all his seizures when he was laying down never when he was active. i know anticonvulsant meds have to be given for life and shouldnt be abruptly stopped so i want to make sure he doesnt get a honeymoon period on them and his body doesnt get to used to the meds in his system 24 hours all the time. what meds did u give ur dog?
My heart went out to you Danny. I can see how much you love your dog. I had witnessed seizures and you feel helpless. Your dog has the best chance with you and your loving home.
Unfortunately our beloved cavoodle that was1 week of turning 11 had other underlying health issues died early hours of the morning screaming each time suffering these seizures. The vet got to the clinic to late as she came from out of town early hours of the morning. Our vet said it's not painful but we aren't so sure. It broke our hearts watching him go through this. We miss him so much. He was our sweetest and loyal fur baby. I'm pleased that your Bear is better now. You have a beautiful gift in helping pets. Good work Danni.
This brings tears to my eyes. I rescued an 8wk old chihuahua who was failure to thrive and had hydrocephalus. At 6 months he had his first seizure and we got meds for him. We also researched and gave him 1 teaspoon of natural vanilla ice cream every day. At 18 months he got a skin infection and we took him to the vet. He came home and 2 days later he had a seizure. Back to the vet and he spent 3 days there. We picked him up as they said he was stable. At 8pm he started have grand Mal seizures, one after another, 8 in all during the night. I held him the entire time. I realized he clearly was not going to get better and we put him to sleep as he could not live life like that, and we did not want him to suffer. He may have had a short life but it was a very full one full of adventures, cat and dog friends and lots of love. The funniest dog I have ever had and his vets just loved him. I miss him still. I feel for Danni because it is very frightening
We just lost our boy before xmas and his seizures started 4yrs ago, very infrequent, but they lasted 5 minutes. Vet didn't prescribe any meds, wish I'd had more information, options to work with... maybe he would still be here if I had advocated or pushed for more ... such a helpess feeling.. Heartbroken I sure hope bear has a long and seizure free life now. Check for lyme disease, no rosemary (trigger), have cold packs on hand to help cool her down during. Much love and hugs
I'm a tech and have seen a lot of seizures in Aussies. I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing them. The first time I ever saw one, I was actually dogsitting...the dog was part Aussie as well. He had a grand mal seizure and then got up, tried to run up the stairs, and fell. I felt so helpless. He was on epilepsy meds for some time. I dogsat for him and his sister for a couple years, but then Walter was sadly euthanized when he suddenly had a super long seizure and wouldn't really come out of it. He was raced to the ER, but his temp went up to almost 108 and the doctor said even if they could get the seizures to fully stop, there would almost certainly be brain damage. He was only 3 years old. His sister has since passed as well. I miss those dogs.
My dog had 2 seizures at that same day. After sometime, he experienced excessive salivation .Even though he under gone medical treatment for more than 3 weeks ,he had gone from this world. I can't help crying .
This is really saddening, poor Danny and Bear, may you overcome your trials. It must be really hard for Bear, but I believe they can overcome it! May God bless them!
I had a dog who suffered from epilepsy. I have never used the medicines recommended by the vet but I have always kept them in the fridge. I have almost always been present at my dog's seizures and this presence has served to make him more and more aware during the same seizures. Over the years the seizures decreased and I found myself alone with my dog as all the other cats and dogs left us. I realized that tension and competition stress were playing a bad joke on my dog...
one of my dogs is on 3 different anti-seizure meds. we're pill buddies, cause I'm on anti-seizure meds too. I just had to watch him have one today, while on the stairs. That's what scares me, he could easily hurt himself during one and I just constantly worry something will happen.
Poor bear. My heart ached for you both. It is a horrific thing to witness. My cat, Angel, of 14 years developed a liver cancer. I asked the vet how I will know to end her suffering. She said she will let you know. About 4 months later I woke up to her having a grand mal seizure. Something I never, ever want to see or hear again. She let out a scream I have never heard her or any other cat emit. As I am sure you will agree, the worst part is feeling so helpless to comfort a pet in this situation. I rushed her to the vet and said I think Angel has let me know there are now metastasis to her brain and she wants to go. I had no idea how often she had experienced this when I was out of the house. The vet agreed it was time to put her to rest. It was a horrible day. but strangely comforting in knowing there had been a clear sign it was time to ease her over the bridge, away from pain and fear. I love her still so much. I am glad Bear's seizures have been manageable and hopefully still are.
Our 8 yr old Aussie female began having seizures. We treated with meds with success for 2years. We finally had meds maxed out and learned her brother had a brain tumor and was put down at 2yrs. We had to make the same decision because she was in status epileptic and even under sedation was seizing. It is such a hopeless and helpless situation. Hard to live through. Wishing you the best.
I had a dog who had infrequent seizures not as bad as those, but they would last 10 to 20 minutes! She lived a full normal life. I miss her. She had such a good heart and calming nature. Precious.
My sweet toy poodle had seizures. It was so scary. He was so frightened when it happened. I’d gently hold him until it was over. He’d be tired after and just sleep. Oddly enough we moved from Seattle to Alabama and the seizures were way less. He lived a nice long life. I was devastated when he died, in his sleep of old age.
I feel so Sorry for you because watching this reminds me when my Cousin passed away when she had pneumonia I miss her I wish I can see her because she was so Loving she was helpful I feel how it can feel to lose someone that you love❤
I had a cocapoo as a kid who had sizures it was heart braking everytime. Having them myself I understood what he was going through each time it broke me when we finally had to let him go.
Lost my petite basset griffin Vendéen to seizures at 2.5 years old. Diagnosed of cluster seizures at 9 months old, and since then there has never been a day we weren’t worried she get into another seizure. We had scans and investigations done but nothing. We started on medications but it didn’t control very much. She had seizures once every 3-4 weeks with increasing doses of medications.. she lost her battle eventually after suffering from an episode for too long. I’ll miss her very much but I’m very glad she’s seizure free now. It hurts me so much every time she gets so frazzled after her seizures..
I’m happy I stumbled upon this video, I have a 4 year old Neapolitan Mastiff that has epilepsy and cluster seizures, he got diagnosed at 4 month old. We have had such a hard time with medications (currently he’s on 3) because of his weight, he’s 180 lbs. I will never give up on him and do everything in my power to keep him happy and healthy. Epilepsy is such a terrible condition in dogs, especially cluster seizures.
Great news for Bear and I wish her and her owners the best of luck for keeping her seizures controlled. 💗 Also kudos to all the epileptics and pet owners sharing your stories and experiences in the comments :)
My dog had seizures. It also looked like he was having fear and anxiety before the seizure would start. It was like he was possessed as he would suddenly awake from sleep and would seizure. It was from taxoplasmosis from cat faeces. He was given ivermectin after having 3 seizures in 2 days and his seizures stopped. He has gone back to sleeping peacefully again. Amazing. Thank God!
I had a border collie that had seizures, and later a boxer. Both times it was my ex feeding them a lot of people food. When the people food was eliminated, they were both fine. I hope it works out for bear
my cat has this too... and its so heartbreaking , when he has this im very in stress and im almost need to puke when its happening.. its too much for me. he gets now 2 pills everyday one pill is split for 6am and the other half for 1pm and the whole pill for 7pm so its coverd all day.. and this really helped he had one seizure in months now, i dont wish this for any pet owner.. and if ur pet has this also, you got this! its very hard when its happening
Danni I am so sorry, my heart is hurting for you, I have loved my dog like my child. Bear is beautiful and I hope you can find out why she has had a seizure. Good luck and my love is coming your way.
I understand the fright of a seizure. My dog who passed this year on Valentine's Day. She had seizures. She had epalpacy. She lived to be 3 years old. But passed from getting an eye infection. She went blind within 2 weeks of getting medication. Then she got a fever which got high. It fried her brain to where she was kept in Seizure mode
My beautiful 17 year-old doggie passed away after an early morning seizure this past March. I should have stayed with her during that entire time. She was going through end-stage renal failure and wasn't producing red-blood cells. We were going to be starting her on subcutaneous fluids. I miss her every single day 😢
We had to put our 18 year old rat terrier to sleep this past Thanksgiving because of seizures. From when they started until the end it took less than 2 months until he reached a constant state of seizing. It was heartbreaking, but he was miserable and screaming out in pain and confusion constantly. Broke my heart.
My furbaby had seizures and the meds stopped them. Sadly, it was because of a brain tumor and he declined very fast. He became an angel last month. I miss him like crazy.
My Beagle (5 now) has had 3. After the first 2 and realizing what they were, made husband take him to the vet. No grand meals...thanking the Lord... meds work...oh, and I held my snugly at 1st one. He runs to me now as he feels he’s heading into. I hold...
I'm so sorry you had to endure such a scary circumstance. When my husky-lab mix started having seizures at 6 years old, it was a terrifying experience. Thankfully, we were able to get that under control with phenobarb. Still, it took us a bit to figure out that bleach and ammonia were triggers for her seizures. She would have a grand mal seizure when entering places that cleaned their floors with bleach (vet clinic, pet store, groomer, boarding facilities). I couldn't get her to not sniff the floor when we would enter those regular places, so we had to stop going in. I stopped cleaning with bleach and my vet started coming out to my car to treat her in the parking lot. The groomer started coming to my house, and family members became her safe boarding option when I had to travel. She was definitely worth all the adjustments and lived to the age of 14 despite her life expectancy to only be 10 years. May your sweet Bear live a happy, healthy, long life! 💜
I had a few dogs who would get seizures. I would put a pillow under their head, and rub a cold rag up and down their side. Talked to them like they were "just sad" and would tell them "it's okay, momma's here, good baby, I know it hurts" and lay down with them. Idk why, but it somehow helped and made the seizure not be so intense after a minute, or helped slow it down a bit faster.
That’s very brave of them to film the first seizure and then have someone in their house to film the second. I can only imagine how scary and stressful that was! Thank you for sharing, and I wish Bear a full recovery from her seizures. ❤️
thinking of bear- glad you got her some meds to help her thru these seizures. Poor little darling. My dog had them and she crossed the rainbow bridge- glad Bear is going great now. She has the best people in the world caring for her. 🥰
I'm so happy that you got bears seizures under control i was sitting crying my eyes out just seeing this thing it hit me hard because i had to have my little dog put to sleep.
A bit late to the punch on this, but my childhood dog had seizures starting sometime in 2018 and most likely had developed some sort of brain issue from how poorly my dad treated him. I loved that little dog and I am so glad he was around for 17 years, nearly into my adult life which is insane to think about. He was put to sleep in April of 2021, still rips my guts out having to sign the paperwork.
It's so hard to get rid of this gene, because most purebreds start having their first litter at 2, but epilepsy doesn't usually show up until around 3. I used to breed Australian Shepherds, and I've seen this gene pop up after 4 generations of litters being totally clear.
Dr Dani, I'm so so happy for Bear!!! She is such a sweet girl and I know you both were extremely worried about her!!! We always are when their our own. But something caused the first seizure and the second but when she's had all the tests and everything comes back clear is it just trial and error from then on??!! I'm so glad the medication she is taking is a big help and although she still has them, they are very infrequent ☺️ She is a very lucky girl to have you for her mom or mum and vet rolled into one......❤❤❤😊😊😊
My German Shepherd started having them around 1 & 1/2 years old. We did everything we could to try and control them. Meds seemed to help for a bit, but ultimately I had to put him down. He had 50 seizures within 5 months. The last one left him unable to walk or stand up. He would’ve been 2 the following month that I put him down. I miss him greatly. I love you Chase. 💙
Best thing you can do when a pet is having a seizure is keeping them on their side, preventing them from hitting anything, and overall keeping them confortable until the seizure is over
I feel your pain. My cattle dog/shep mix (3 years old) has been having grand Mal seizures since he was about 6 months old. Just as violent as the seizures your dog suffers. Sometimes they've happened in the middle of the night, so I now have a baby monitor in my room so I can hear if he is thrashing about or vocalizing. I also have a ring camera in the room with him so I can check on his status at night. It's rough getting interrupted sleep, but I wont' rest unless I know he is calmly sleeping. He is currently on Phenobarbital and Keppra, but still has seizures. At least now they are not quite as violent or long lasting. Good luck.
My first dog had seizures when she was a puppy. It’s awful because you feel so helpless! There are things you can do to help the dog afterwards, but while it’s happening all you can do is time it (our vet gave us a time limits, if it lasts longer then that, we call them. Thank gawds she grew out of it.
My 17 year old terrier cross woke me one night screaming…😢he was having a seizure. He had two more night time seizures & started going blind, he was bumping into doors etc. The vet discovered a large tumour behind his right eye. We had a day together with his litter brother Jed before allowing Jasper to go peacefully..❤
I have a 5 year old border collie, she had her first seizure 4 weeks after her 4th birthday. 😢 we are now 15 months in (the vet/medicine specialist are surprised she is my first- very common for border collies to develop seizures between 4-6 yrs of age) She is currently on 3 medications, I feel you watching this, it is exactly like my baby, and she is still not well controlled. Good luck to you all 💜🐕
My first dog had similar seizures. I clearly remember his tongue was bluish-black and his paw pads very pale during the violent cramps. I took him to the vet but they didn't have a MRI machine and only gave him some cortisone and epilespy medicine. When he had to stop taking the cortisone, the seizures came back. He would hang his head slightly, so maybe it was a brain tumor, but we never got to know for sure. Comet got another month after the first seizure. He was 8 years when we let him go, to spare him from the pain. He was the best, I really wish I knew what happened.
One of my dogs has seizures/ epilepsy, she would on some occasions have up to 7 per day, they usually only last about 30-45 seconds but she usually has them of a night, we now medicate her twice a day with phenomav and Gabapentin, we also have eliminated all dry food or wheat based products from her diet and no salt so no dog treats as salt or sodium seem to be a huge trigger for her, She now only suffers seizures approx one every couple of months which is still awful but it's better than every day, hope Bear can find something to help because as an animal owner/ lover it is very distressing 🐶💕
Oh my gosh Danny they were scary I would of been a really big messy tears everywhere u and ur partner did well I’m so happy to hear she is getting better thank goodness poor bear
This happened to my 1 yr old siberian husky he just started foaming at the mouth and running on his side exactly the same ...the worst part is after the seizures it would take my boy about 15 min to recognize me and recover..but he died by 2 yrs old he was born with a liver that did not grow so he filled with poisons ..the vet missed this and gave him phenobarbital which further damaged his liver ..so essentially they gave me his death 💀😔I miss him ..I was forced to euthanize him ..at the time of death his liver was about 10 lbs ..I was 12 yrs old he was my first dog 🐕😢and my best friend ...seizures are the worst ailment to have to witness especially in ur own pet.
So glad to hear it is under control. I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been, having grand mal seizures just start happening out of the blue.🖤🇨🇦
Our old dog, Nelly, had seizures. She was on meds but they went from once every few weeks to multiple in one day. Consecutive seizures can cause brain damage, and it can only get worse from there if not treated :( sadly her previous owner would just lock her in a closet when she had seizures, we took her under our wing in her later years, around 10-ish years old. Her siblings seemed to have also passed from the same issues. She did the cutest little thing while begging for pets! She would put her paw on your lap and stare at you, trembling, then if you ignored here she would just do it again but with more of an emphasis, until you relented! She was a lovely little lady.
My Australian Shepherd Beagle Mix developed infrequent seizures at 2 yrs old. When they started to happen more my vet put her on Phenobarbital. At that time Lily also had a low Throid level so Throsine was also added. Both were twice a day. A few yrs later Lily had breakthrough seizures. Potassium Bromide liquid was added daily which helped alot. We lost her this past Spring to CHF at 12 yrs old-not related to the seizures. We miss her alot.
Our sweet standard poodle had seizures. Our vet told us it wasn’t unusual for this breed, but it didn’t make it any easier. Finally meds were prescribed and seizures controlled. ❤️
What a great outcome ❤ Lots of love to you and your poodle

My 15 year old Chihuahua has seizures too. You feel literally helplessness. The meds help, but the seizures make their way to the surface.
My little chihuahua also suffered seizures, she crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday aged 14 and we’re absolutely heartbroken 💔

My 15 year old chihuahua used to have seizures at least once a month. One vet didn't want to put the dog on meds because they were'nt that frequent. Another vet told me I should put my dog on meds. I know a dog that has seizures and it is scary to watch and try to figure out what is causing the problem. Good luck for the future with Bear
@Saoirse Byrne : try Melatonin. I give 10 mg. per 40 pounds, daily. A friend dog trainer recommended it and it worked. He is happy and alert.
Did you have your lab any medications ?

Much power to you❤
My beagle used to have this sezuire episodes.
So Sorry 😭😭😭💔💔💔

I have epilepsy. My heart goes out to this dog ❤️
So sorry for your loss. One of our pet dogs had a heart attack and died in front of us. It was so heartbreaking to see him pass.
@@flowergirl3438 Thank you.
Oh the poor family. It’s so devastating to be so helpless when someone or something you love is hurt and you don’t know what to do. Poor little puppy.
We'd give him lots of love to assure him everything was okay.
as an australian shepherd owner, this hurts to watch.

I am glad Bear passed the mri exam. However prayers for Bear and the family.
My heart went out to you Danny. I can see how much you love your dog. I had witnessed seizures and you feel helpless. Your dog has the best chance with you and your loving home.
Seeing this breaks my heart for you and her. She’s so sweet and special.
I love Danni, she has so much empathy and are very sweet to all animals and their owners ❤️
Heartbroken
I sure hope bear has a long and seizure free life now.
Check for lyme disease, no rosemary (trigger), have cold packs on hand to help cool her down during.
Much love and hugs
Seeing seizures in our fur babies is both terrifying and heartbreaking. Poor baby going through that is really scary.....glad Bear is doing better.
Same happened to my pets coffee and chikku my babies
This is really saddening, poor Danny and Bear, may you overcome your trials. It must be really hard for Bear, but I believe they can overcome it! May God bless them!
I had a dog who suffered from epilepsy. I have never used the medicines recommended by the vet but I have always kept them in the fridge. I have almost always been present at my dog's seizures and this presence has served to make him more and more aware during the same seizures. Over the years the seizures decreased and I found myself alone with my dog as all the other cats and dogs left us. I realized that tension and competition stress were playing a bad joke on my dog...
I used to have a dog who would do this, and honestly it's extremely terrifying to have to watch and can't really do anything about it
one of my dogs is on 3 different anti-seizure meds. we're pill buddies, cause I'm on anti-seizure meds too.

Sorry for your loss.
Hey Dr. Dani, I'm so sorry that your dog and you are going through this.

Bears a GOUGOUS dog! 💙🙏🙏🙏

Amazing. Thank God!
That is awesome. Please continue spreading the word about this on these sites.
I had a border collie that had seizures, and later a boxer. Both times it was my ex feeding them a lot of people food. When the people food was eliminated, they were both fine. I hope it works out for bear
Human food is way too fatty..it’s horrible for dogs and quite frankly horrible for people too

my cat has this too... and its so heartbreaking , when he has this im very in stress and im almost need to puke when its happening.. its too much for me. he gets now 2 pills everyday one pill is split for 6am and the other half for 1pm and the whole pill for 7pm so its coverd all day.. and this really helped he had one seizure in months now, i dont wish this for any pet owner.. and if ur pet has this also, you got this! its very hard when its happening
Watching with my loves and crying. I can’t imagine seeing this in person. I would be hysterical 😭
Me too 😭
That's heart-breaking to watch the poor thing go through that !!! Hope Bear is going ok
My beautiful 17 year-old doggie passed away after an early morning seizure this past March. I should have stayed with her during that entire time. She was going through end-stage renal failure and wasn't producing red-blood cells. We were going to be starting her on subcutaneous fluids. I miss her every single day 😢
Same with my furbaby 😢 he had seizure since he was 4 years old and can't diagnosed the cause.. sending ❤❤❤
I'm just glad she has the best care possible ❤
oh my that poor dog. i been watching these series a lot they do a great job saving all animals life
We had to put our 18 year old rat terrier to sleep this past Thanksgiving because of seizures.
I hold...
💕It’s a awful feeling of helplessness when your pet becomes unwell without a reason💕
I'm so happy for bear with the treatment she's getting. I love watching Bondi Vets. ❤️❤️❤️
That is the hardest thing seeing your baby having a grand mal seizure and not being able to do anything. Breaks your heart seeing it.
I hope bear is okay! And I’m glad you took her to the vet to get checked out. And I’m glad she is okay
As a human who has seizures im in tears realizing what I put ppl around me through 😢
Poor Bear I'm glad it's under control and she is ok. Send lots of love yo Bear and family 💖💖💖💖🐶XXXXX
It's so hard to get rid of this gene, because most purebreds start having their first litter at 2, but epilepsy doesn't usually show up until around 3. I used to breed Australian Shepherds, and I've seen this gene pop up after 4 generations of litters being totally clear.
Thats because Its polygenic- many genes participate and Its extremely difficult to eliminate
Good job all👍 god bless tou all🙏❤❤
Dr Dani, I'm so so happy for Bear!!!
Good luck.
so happy that her seizures are now controlled love this dog and wishing her success in her health love u bear
My first dog had seizures when she was a puppy. It’s awful because you feel so helpless! There are things you can do to help the dog afterwards, but while it’s happening all you can do is time it (our vet gave us a time limits, if it lasts longer then that, we call them. Thank gawds she grew out of it.
what a beautiful dog , especially the fur
My 17 year old terrier cross woke me one night screaming…😢he was having a seizure. He had two more night time seizures & started going blind, he was bumping into doors etc. The vet discovered a large tumour behind his right eye. We had a day together with his litter brother Jed before allowing Jasper to go peacefully..❤
I have a 5 year old border collie, she had her first seizure 4 weeks after her 4th birthday. 😢 we are now 15 months in (the vet/medicine specialist are surprised she is my first- very common for border collies to develop seizures between 4-6 yrs of age)
She is currently on 3 medications, I feel you watching this, it is exactly like my baby, and she is still not well controlled. Good luck to you all 💜🐕
This is incredible.
Poor doggy
What a sweet dog.
Ohh poor doggo... happy to see she's healthy now ❤️
My first dog had similar seizures.
I’ve never seen that before and I just cried and cried.
Glad she is doing okay now… it’s so hard when our babies are sick!
One of my dogs has seizures/ epilepsy, she would on some occasions have up to 7 per day, they usually only last about 30-45 seconds but she usually has them of a night, we now medicate her twice a day with phenomav and Gabapentin, we also have eliminated all dry food or wheat based products from her diet and no salt so no dog treats as salt or sodium seem to be a huge trigger for her,
She now only suffers seizures approx one every couple of months which is still awful but it's better than every day, hope Bear can find something to help because as an animal owner/ lover it is very distressing 🐶💕

I had never seen this one before. Poor baby
