My all-time starting 5 based on the players I grew up watching since the mid 1980's. PG- Magic SG- Jordan SF- Bird PF- T. Duncan C- Olajuwon 6th man- Reggie Miller
The greatest ever! And no one will ever be more underrated, because no one knows how to analyse!!! Any honour, accolade, award is achieved by EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR HANDS. Fans vote all star, teams win championships, get you MVP's, all nba, all defense, DPOY (you need a good TEAM record for those) .. competition varies .. all of it. Basketball ability Hakeem is not matched by anyone but perhaps Michael Jordan.
For the love of everything, people, stop using the word UNDERRATED! I swear this generation has NO IDEA what that word means. He is widely considered by many people to be the best center of all time, he is in the Hall of Fame, and EVERYBODY acknowledges how great the Dream was, past and present. He is rated exactly where he should be!
Emmanuel Stalling If he was widely considered to be the greatest Center of all time I wouldn't say it, but he's not .. and is never mentioned on TV. He is extremely underrated .. He's in the HOF, so is the one dimensional Reggie Miller or the SCRUB Frank Ramsey who is in there for rings alone .. no, no one acknowledges how good he is. He's the greatest ever.
Ahh, you're full of crap. People talk about Olajuwan all the time. They talk about how Kobe, LeBron, and Dwight all went to get post lessons. MJ himself put him on his all time starting 5 as recent as 2013. People have Joel Embiid as the number one pick simply because he reminds them of Hakeem. You need to tune to NBA.com more and see how often he is mentioned.
Emmanuel Stalling No one in the world is in touch with the history and current basketball more than me. Hakeem is underrated, I don't care if he's mentioned, yes he is, he's in the HOF, he's mentioned alot. I don't give a shit, he's not mentioned in conversations as the greatest player ever because he's short of accolades, which are ALL to do with his team and circumstances, not how good he is .. no one these days analyses properly.
This is back when Hakeem was playing power forward. Ralph Sampson was their center, and they were a scary combination. Olajuwon's per game averages for this series: 31 pts, 11 rbs, 4 blocks, 2 stls. Sampson's: 20 pts, 9 rbs, 4 assists, 2 blocks.
And that's why the Lakers went out and played A.C. Green more after this series, and then got Mychal Thompson at the trade deadline in 87 and then went back to back in 87 and 88.
Melvyn credit to old man Kareem. He did the best he could, but was just too old to keep the Towers off the glass. Oh wait but Magic was here too. I thought Hakeem always wasnt fit to doing anything if he was there. Ya just salty all these years because Olajuwon dumped your beloved Lakers out when you was already looking ahead to Boston....😎🤣.
@@melvynsngltn27 30/60fg in the series loss. Amongst Centers historically...only Kareem and Shaq have ever had a 30/60 playoff series and in Kareems case vs the Blazers, they got swept 4-0.
one point mj is the goat right? ill give u 5 hall of fame pf or c that went up against hakeem and he destroyed them name five hall of famers jordan went against and destroyed we can also compare teams
There was no team that could stop Jordan, individually speaking. We are talking about a guy who averaged less than 27ppg in a playoff series just once( 26.6ppg in a win against tha Hawks in 1997). He not only went up against SGs , but guarded and was guarded by PGs and some SFs. We have Moncrief,Dennis Johnson,Mark Price,Alvin Robertson,Barkley(as a SF on the 76ers),Dumars,Rodman,Isiah Thomas,Magic Johnson,Drexler,Penny Hardaway,Kevin Johnson,Tim Hardaway,Reggie Miller,Chris Mullin,Stockton. If you wanna include Hofers from different positions that Jordan outplayed in a playoff series we have Mchale,Parish,Ewing,Mourning,Barkley,Karl Malone and many other guys who were very talented, but not Hofers/Hof talents.
@@jamesclark5343 Lol I didn't notice your comment was 8 years old. Jordan didn't only go up against SGs,but I guess the awnser would vary between Drexler,Richmond,Reggie Miller,Dumars and Moncrief. All Hall of famers. He did go up/guarded PGs like Isiah Thomas,Magic,Penny Hardaway,Kevin Johnson and Penny Hardaway. That's some elite company.
@David Schmidt Jordan is a top 5 player for sure. I just dont think he went up against elite competition at his position every night because he redefined the position.
Back in the old days, not many big men shot 85 percent in a game, or even 60 percent total. Wilt and Bill were near 50 percent like Shaq. Dream was always over 70 percent.
So Quick Footed, Agil and Skilled for Any Center!
Smoother turnaround jumper than a lot of guards through history. He’s an alien.
Arguably the greatest center of all time! #thedream
no doubt dream #34

Hakeem olajuewon was a low post magician 🎩 or a scientist
Kareem was past his prime at this point.

1. Wilt Chamberlain

Hakeem always played the center position. From college and all the way through his pro career. Sampson was the power forward.
Samson was the Center before Hakeem joined the Rockets. When Hakeem came, Samson shifted to Power Forward and Hakeem moved to the Center.
Kareem was 39 years old here guys, remember that
And that's why the Lakers went out and played A.C. Green more after this series, and then got Mychal Thompson at the trade deadline in 87 and then went back to back in 87 and 88.
he was 39 and getting carried by a loaded laker team
remember that
he won a finals mvp a year before dumb fuck
+SLIP NORRIS dumbass
Hakeem was great but Kareem was Awesome no offense to Hakeem. 39 years old and still a factor
