    But one of the biggest changes in my game has been mindset. If I hit a terrible shot off the tee straight away im excited for the challenge of getting back I play then up and down. I’ve had some of the most insane up and downs with this mindset

I happen to get into see a chiropractor that believes golf might be good for my back with the movement and walking and the just getting out. He has become a really good friend and golf buddy.. now when the body isn't out to get me I golf at least once a week. Ungiven gimmes, errant tee shots into neighboring yards, pace of play. Great round Adam! I think your philosophy of keeping drives in play and focusing on a developing a great short game is a model for the rest of us. But I feel Matt's (Golf Sidekick) is unrealistic about only needing 6 GIR to break 80 on a regular basis. Numbers from Arcos show that 5 Hcps average eight greens in regulation per round, while 10 Hcps average six GIR per round. I think 8 GIR gives a little flex for the occasional double bogey and less of a lights-out short game.

    • @NotAScratchGolfer
      @NotAScratchGolfer  Месяц назад +1

      Average is the operative word here. I average ~6.5 GIRs per round, which is certainly below "average" for my handicap level. But my chipping/putting is above average for my handicap level. Like I said, many ways to score!

    Adam, your game around the green is great. Your putting is also well above average. The fact that you now drive the ball over 250 regularly has only added to your lowered scores. Have you picked up distance from working with swingtweaks, or with your personal golf coach? BTW, your 3W should have been used more often off the tee. You strike that club well. It's tough to get tee times on short notice in Vancouver. There are 3 munis in Vancouver (Fraserview is the best of those 3) and you can search for tee times there by using teetimes.vancouver.ca.
      Morgan Creek (about 45 mins south of Vancouver) is the best conditioned public course where you may be able to snag a tee time. Northview (Ridge Course) is a nice track that used to host a PGA tour event, also about 40 minutes away from the City. If you want a unique mountain course with cool views, there's Northlands in North Vancouver. A lot of target golf there. 30 mins from there is a course with SPECTACULAR views but a really circus-y layout, called Furry Creek. Great if you want nothing but views.
      Hope some of that is helpful!
