  • What are trap bar deadlifts good for? Trap bar deadlifts are good for building the glutes, hamstrings and back. The primary benefit of trap bar deadlifts is that they put less stress on the lumbar spine than conventional barbell deadlifts which is important for people with low back issues. Trap bar deadlifts require less technical proficiency than barbell deadlifts and are easier to learn. The trap bar deadlift has many great benefits.

    They're way safer than regular deadlifts, especially for your lower back. I don't lift regular bars anymore, only trap bars.

    Noob here, but is it important to keep a flat back? I've seen a few people do it with a slight arch, which looks painful.

      I believe flat is the best and the safest. And keep your back straight at the end of the form

      For the most part. You’ll see experienced lifters start intentionally curving their upper (not lower) back for more leverage, but you definitely shouldn’t be trying that as a beginner.

      It’s important to keep your spin at a neutral position, which means neither curving inwards nor outwards. This will prevent serious back injuries

    Thats a trap bar squat. A trap bar deadlift is pushing your hips back.

      Yeah kinda', although the foot positioning seen here is more deadlift than it is squat. That said, in my experience you can't really perform a decent trapbar/ hexbar deadlift with that fast'ish 'bouncing off the floor' form, as the set-up for each rep needs slightly more time in my view. But a more-upright stance is even less likely to tweak the back than the hips-back form you suggest, so it's not a bad idea for deadlift beginners. As always though, people should just do what feels best for them; it's all going be working something or other.

    Why are you wearing wrestling shoes for lifting

    • @alfredomeza4181
      @alfredomeza4181 Год назад +3

      Wrestling shoes are a good option. They're flat and are not raised. Other good options are Converse and Vans shoes. Besides specialty Deadlift shoes going barefoot is the best option.
