Jason, I've got a lot of building experience with JoHan kits. There's nothing wrong with your Rambler model. That's the way it came. You got a big plastic axle going through the whole shebang and that's what holds the motor and everything else in place. JoHan has the most accurate bodies ever made but most of the time the chassis are severely lacking in detail. Its common for most JoHan kits to have a thick plastic axle going through the suspensions especially in the engine compartment where it goes through the engine blocks , acting like motor mounts 😂😂😂 The Dyno Don Maverick and Fast Eddie Comet pro stocks are the same way with the axles going through everything only the wild factory headers cover up everything so you can't see the axle through the block fiasco. You remedied that problem with styrene square stock is just fine. When you paint it all up, everything will look good!
The Rambler American looks good Jason. It's your build and it's a modified car to fit a different engine. So the crossmember is fine. I have a few of these kits that I'm converting to factory stock. I like JoHan kits. See you for Model Cars and Coffee tomorrow.
good progress on the Rebel. right or wrong on the K-member, it's gonna sit on your shelf. that being said CHEVY ORANGE CLOSE ENOUGH TO HEMI ORANGE!?!? the Mopar Gods are frowning upon you now... kidding. build looks good, cragars look great.
I like the direction you're going with the Rebel. It's gonna look great! I'm right there with you on the cross-member thing. I build as if I were building a 1 to 1 and challenge myself to add more realism in each consecutive build. Thus, I get extremely focused on details almost to the point of stalling the build. BTW...what do we as viewers need to do to ensure you finish this build? The internet will not survive you wearing a dress. 😎
Nice adds and update. The uv cut flood is really nice. Anytime i need a gloss clear that isn't 2K i is the GX112 cut with mr leveling thinner which is the same stuff as is in the uv cut rattle can. It's become my go to "utility" gloss coat.
Thats a really cool kit can't wait to see it done but I don't know what I am looking forward to more seeing the car done or.....you in a dress.....tuff choice lol.
Gambling, on the Rambler ! You can do it ! You don't want to wear a dress. I was thinking a play on the New Years song "Auld Lang Syne" could be modified into " " Auld Anxiety" for the challenge between You guys. My money is on Luka aka Matt wearing the dress.
I recently purchased some JoHan model kits. I am definitely not a fan of those plastic front axles. I think I’ll do something similar to what you are doing with this model. Thanks for sharing.
The Rebel is lookin great. You might have to wear a dress? Hmmm. If you do, would you go shopping and pick one out yourself? Or would you borrow one of Heathers? Im just curious, i think of these things and they keep me up at night.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain the engineering of this kit!

Nice work on the Rebel. That one is going to look really nice when it is finished. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Rambler looks good the body style and stance is perfect.

I do believe you mean HEMI Orange is close enough to Chevrolet orange. 😂
I know, I know. But it’s close enough.🤣
Sky-rene! Who's that? 😂 Looking good on the progress!

Nice update Jason, love the stance on her! Interested in seeing how that clear coat looks

Oh don’t you worry!! Nothing short of a crippling injury is gonna stop me from finishing this on time.
Love the stance and wheel choice. The 440 is a great option.
Thanks, glad you like it!
Looking good Jason..
Now I'm not sure if i want to see you in a dress..😂
Trust me when I say you don’t!! Unless I get something that lifts and separates 🤔
Great video jason

I think we should get some bets going, I’m rooting for Matt too.
Awesome, Jason. I hope you don't have to wear a dress. Keep up the amazing work.
I hope I don’t have to either!

Thanks, those axles are always a pain!
@ I just assumed that from looking at them.

Oh I’d borrow one of Heaters, but don’t worry, that ain’t gonna happen!!
She was looking for a dress for you to wear I bet you she has some stuff that you look cute in 😂
Little behind on videos 😎😁.......i hope you finish, but im sure you would look good in a dress 👗🤣🤣
Don’t worry, I’m gonna finish this! 😜
