This eerily reminds me of Don't Starve, with the melody composition, the occasional jazz organ in the background and... I can't quite put it into words. This piece is excellent.
Another comparison I’d make is the one of Hollow Knight’s DLC and the Grimm Troupe; that one also explores the musical themes of circus, but in a less subtle way.
There's something just primal and instinctively intriguing about watching people fight to the death and seeing them draw one another's blood. Don't lie, since visiting the Butcher's Circus in _The Darkest Dungeon,_ you've wondered about what it'd be like to see such a performance in person.
This music really brings the sinister circus vibe I love it litterly just stayed in the lobby to listen to this another great piece of yours to listen too

It's very interesting how stress builds are getting very popular. My bet is, this is entirely by design on Red Hook's part. Stress is after all what kills your runs in the campaign, so why wouldn't it also be deadly in the PVP?
Greetings, Stuart. I'd like to say that your work on Darkest Dungeon was fantastic. This track, the Town in Chaos, and the Warrens are all fitting tracks and amongst my favourite. I also came to the realization that you just so happen to be a member, the bassist if I'm correct, of The Tea Party. My dad has been listening to you guys for a while now, as well as has attended a few of your concerts. Martin, Burrows, and yourself together create very unique music that has assuredly contributed to Canadian rock and music in general. It was very neat to learn that one of my favourite video games is scored by a familiar name. Cheers from a fellow Canadian.

I normally strongly dislike the whole dark carnival/circus music thing. I typically find it corny and off putting. However, not so with the tracks you wrote for this DLC! I'll admit, I was NOT expecting for the music to be so catchy (by that, I mean amazing to the point of just sitting and listening instead of entering the circus) when I first loaded up Darkest Dungeon that day. I'll admit, I'm not the hugest PVP fan, but this DLC has been awesome - I love the trinkets, I love the way the characters are different than they are in the base game, and of course, I LOVE this composition. Full of mania, cheer, and madness! Can't wait for DD2!
I really hope this dlc isn't pc exclusive and it's brought over to other platforms with some sort of crossplay... I would love to play the online PvP on my console since I don't own a pc.
Despite the awesome music, mr. Chatwood has the ability to write tracks excellent for looping. I've listened Darkest Dungeon tracks again and again without getting bored or tired of them! And they perfectly fit with the atmosphere of the game. One more reason to look forward for Darkest Dungeon 2!
Spoilers of the final boss if you think about it, the butcher circus was an absolute godsend for the heart of darkness. Thing feeds off heroes dying doing heroic acts.

This music is so cool. I'm actually working on a group for my D and D campaign and this music will work perfectly for their twisted circus/ carnival feel, thanks so much!

I cannot imagine any other composer for Darkest dungeon than mr. Chatwood. There is no possible way to compose a theme, that would fit the circus of death better than this.
And again a great music! A usual circus theme at first glance, but changed and twisted into a very unsettling melody, just like many other things are in the Darkest Dungeon. I definetly heard motives from other soundtracks. Thank you for another piece of awesome soundtrack!

Different cues take different time. Some cues come from the heavens and practically write themselves in 6 or 8 hours while others are dug from a deep mine that you visit for 200 hours or more.
This is my favorite music in the whole Darkest Dungeon, it feels like I'm standing a big circus tent and there are crazy but beautiful shows performing on the stage.
Darkest dungoen really has just about every aspect i seek in a video game, and im a sucker for lovecraftian vibes, but one thing i look for in every piece of media i enjoy is music, music can make or break a show or a game. And man, does the music in darkest dungeon exceed expectations with flying colors, especially this one, ill just sit in the lobby to listen to it sometimes lol

I remember playing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, back when I was about 15. The music was stunning. I still listen to it from time to time. I looked up who composed this music. I found mr Chatwood. Then, some years later I found another great game - Darkest Dungeon. Music was stunning as well. Then i realized: Prince... DD... The same guy made music for both! And now, 15 years later we get this gem. I listen to it on a loop. It may be the best one from whole DD (and I do not say this lightly!). I can't get enough of it. Mr Chatwood - keep up your brilliant work - you're great and you should be known by everyone who has at least a little bit of music taste!
Started up the butcher's circus eager to get in a fight... ended up sticking around in the main menu for 15 minutes just to listen to this
