Introduced at CES 2021, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 is an anomaly in a bunch of ways. For one, it has a '2' in the name while not exactly improving on its predecessor. It has a processor that, in just a few months, will feel a tad bit dated. It lacks features that its contemporaries possess and yet it still costs more than those other Chromebooks. In fact, there are very few ways in which this Chromebook is superlative, yet there's actually some charm to it at the same time. With perhaps a different name and a slightly lower price I'd be inclined to call it a good purchase, but as it stands, I'm a bit back-and-forth on how I feel about this particular Chromebook. So, let's talk about it.

I recently bought this Chromebook and I LOVE it! My original comment got deleted and I don't feel like retyping out the whole thing again, so I'll just say. I bought the Spin 713 (speakers meh) and the Duet 5 (horrible, horrible speakers) but returned both and settled on this. Was not a fan of the screen ratio on the Spin 713 as I am with the Chromebook 2. It's exactly what I was looking for.
If this is your first Chromebook you will not regret it. It looks and feels amazing. This fiesta red color looks great. If you have a pixel phone then you can unlock your Chromebook with Smart Lock making a fingerprint reader irrelevant. No stylus but I hardly use them when I do have them. Battery life is amazing. I'm getting at least 10 hours if not more with RUclips, email, and browsing. It's better than my iPad Pro (2020) which is currently for sale lol.
Your review exactly what I needed to hear, I'm considering one, now it's two years later though
I thoroughly enjoy when you compare the reviewed chromebook to your Spin 713, while watching on my Spin 713! You constantly reinforce that I made the correct purchase FOR ME.
That's how I feel about my Pixelbook Go. For me, it was the right purchase for my needs.
I appreciate the honest take on this Chromebook. Not every laptop is a hit, and I hope Samsung will use this information, go back to the drawing board, and produce a better quality device for the price point.
So true. Previous model was overpowered and way way way overpriced. And that red?
Attention seeking device seeks visually impaired operator.
My ideal Chromebook, Phil, would be...
Intel core i3/ AMD Ryzen 3(minimum)
Backlit keyboard
2 in 1 form factor
Touch screen
1080p 400 nits(minimum)
4K is overhyped and a power hog.
Full compliment of I/O ports(esp HDMI 2.1)
Blue tooth is not as good as wired...yet.
Cheers
Oops!
Screen for me at least,
15.6". Great for media consumption!
They don't need to redsign anything, just drop the price to match the quality
Exactly, and they did drop the price, big time here in 2024. It's a great deal now! 😃
Thank you so much for your honesty! It’s chrome book upgrade time, I really needed this review🙂
Hello what Chromebook did you decide on getting I'm in the process of trying to get one
Pro tip for removing that sticker residue, use a cheap eraser (the ones you'd normally use for pencils)
No need to mess around with alcohol or hair dryers etc.
Don't ask me how it works because I don't know, but it does.

An offer we won't refuse to try... Afterall where has "Goo Gone"? In the river Al?
@@timothyvaher2421goo gone if you like nasty stinky messes. 😃
I love this Chromebook! I bought it at a Best Buy in July. It was a return in original box and I bought it for 279 dollars. I use it a lot with NVIDIA Geforce Now. Super smooth. If you can find it for a deal, jump on it.
I love how you put the pixel book go in your bag at the end. I can see why. Great vid. TY.
Most people never remove or even notice the sticker. As a freelance tech, I come across laptops years old with those stickers still on. The things tech reviewers find annoying versus the average user is totally a lot, really a lot. Price, the price and does it work fast and has good battery life.
I want to say one thing that's pretty important: The regular original Galaxy Chromebook had severe overheating issues. And even if you don't do much on the device the extra heat is going to kill the longevity of the device. It also has absolutely terrible battery life. So for all those people saying you should get it over the Galaxy Chromebook 2, I would say in most cases I wouldn't recommend that. Unless you have a really good cooling setup for your laptop and of course you have to be okay with the bad battery life
The original is now £100 cheaper than the latest (i3) when I imported from the US. However, the performance will be better and the question is the thermals and battery life. I use a laptop cooler and am mainly tied to a charger, with maybe 2h off the plug, so neither are issues. I think that the original, costing less with a better CPU and much better specs (fingerprint, camera, OLED, 4K) it was an easy choice.
@@andyH_England in your case it sounds like a good option. But a laptop is unusable for many people with bad thermals and bad battery life, so that's why I said what I said. In your case you're in good shape
@@AndroidDigest Yes, agree, def not for everyone, but a great device if you can live with the cons!
I just purchased an open-box Galaxy Chromebook from Best Buy, and so far, I'm impressed enough that it's pretty much replaced my iPad Air 4 as my secondary device. Sure the battery isn't great, but the screen is awesome. I would have thought about the 2, but I want to get into Linux, and I wasn't sure if the m3 would handle it. It probably would. I think that everyone's use case is different, and that's why there are many different Chromebooks. All I have to say is that I love Chrome OS, and I am excited about where this platform is going.
On sale now for 299 at best buy
Got one for $350 today and at that price it is 100% worth it!
Having a Spinbook 713, I'm all in on the 3:2 ratio, and I'd probably be OK with an even taller ratio. However, it isn't for everyone, and I think I can pin down an important reason why. The taller vs. wider ratio is best suited for producers - writers, videographers, business apps like spreadsheets, presentations, documents, etc. The wider ratio is best suited consumers - for viewing videos or even having multiple social media feeds in view simultaneously. This even carries over with Chrome's (current) horizontal tabs. A wider screen allows for more of those tabs when browsing. When choosing a screen format, it is important to know whether you spend the majority of your time producing content or consuming it. Neither is right or wrong in itself, but knowing may help you find the best fit for you.
I'm trying to choose between the spin 713 and the ASUS CX-5 or the Galaxy Chromebook 2 but yes I was concerned cuz I've never had a 3x2 aspect ratio of anything I do consume a lot of media but not really on my laptop it was more my phone but if I have my Chromebook I guess I'll consume more media on it not too sure yet I mainly do it for RUclips nothing much else otherwise I just go to the big screen
Also which Acer spin do you have is it a 2021 or the 2021 model what would you say is your favorite quality is about it and your least favorite quality is about it how's the battery life I've heard a lot of great things about the screen but a lot of bad things about the speakers I guess since I haven't had a laptop in a while I recently got the Acer Chromebook 315 and the speakers on that were pretty good for my standards they did lack in base but I was expecting less from them honestly
very helpful review, i'll consider this Chromebook when the price drops $100 - $150 dollars
That's exactly how to do it! I reviewed this and it's a great Chromebook, just not the best at retail
It dropped today! It's down to $509 with an educational discount, and $599 without one! I put the links on my twitter page (digestandroid). It's crazy that the price already dropped, and that's why this review was truthful and good, but we also had to keep in mind that sales are coming. I literally had to return my model and re-buy it (Samsung extended my return window for me)
If you have an education discount, you can get the i3 model right now for $437 after tax, and about $545 without it.
@@pablogratas941 the other day it was down to $350 with an edu discount, at least in grey.. for the i3 model. Insane deals

Just one tip for y'all. When mentioning other devices like at 1:29 it's much better for understanding if you could show a picture of the device real quick instead of making the viewer imagine what it would look like. Just saying, otherwise, great video as always 😁
Agreed. I was impressed Robbie remembers all the numbers though 😅
p.s. Love Y'all 😅.
Just got the 2020 Galaxy Chromebook for $450 almost new. I love the device and happy with my purchase. My only gripe is battery life which is a non issue for me as I'm always plugged in.
How bad is the battery?
@@Yoko.Kurama it's always plugged in so I don't notice. Get this device if you can
@@elsizzle2000 I mean if you have it unplugged. I'll pretty much be in bed using this. It won't be plugged in. It's on sale for $600 now. Thinking about getting it
@@Yoko.KuramaIt's been between 300 and 350 at Best Buy so far this year 😃
I got this chromebook before i waited on your review. You make plenty of valid points. But i do love it. 699 is steep, but I love the design, the display is amazing, and the older i3 seems pretty speedy actually.
I'd still prefer this to the Pixelbook Go. Call me shallow but the Go has always looked cheap. The Acer Chromebook Spin 13 takes some beating, but not everyone likes 3:2.
Yes! I reviewed it, and it's a great option. Don't think it's not. Your paying a little premium up front because all devices go on sale within a few months. But compared to the hp, which retails at $630, you get a way better screen, more storage, etc. Only the Acer beats this device at the retail price and it's a heavier Chromebook with a budget brand. Robbie was dead on with the review. The tone was a little negative, so you just have to look at it from the other end. I reviewed it myself and really like it!
@@bradavon I think It's much better than the pixelbook go because it's faster than even the i-7 model. It's a really good device
I purchased this Chromebook as well and I think it is great! With my trade-in and other discounts at Samsung. I paid a little under $600. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and I haven't turned it on in over four weeks. This chromebook does everything I need. I enjoy how quickly it turns on.
@@mshawnlane it's Killer device! Seriously it's great! It's my go to and I love it! It's a premium device for sure, and it feels great! It's got a good build, good trackpad, keyboard, display, great performance, a few people are just disappointed that it doesn't have nvme storage. And people just easily compare it to last year's model, which honestly is worse in my opinion anyway
I just purchased one. I'm not even opening the box. I am returning tomorrow morning
What an amazing, unbiased review. Thnx for your perspective! Spent 90 mins at Best Buy trying to decide btwn this & the Acer 713. Your video persuaded me 2 grab the Acer, despite Samsung's incredible screen which nearly dazzled me into a coma!
I'm waiting to get the original galaxy chromebook with the 4K display for a significantly discounted price.
I would love to see Samsung release another 3:2 Chromebook, since their Chromebook Pro (my first Chromebook) is what made me fall in love with that screen ratio. I would also love to see them include EMR pen technology on their future Chromebooks, or bring their experience making S Pens to USI pens. I've recently upgraded to the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 from the Chromebook Pro (I tried out the Galaxy Chromebook earlier this month, but there were too many minor issues to justify its $800 sale price), and its an upgrade for the most part. I love how much better the Acer is in laptop mode than the Chromebook Pro - it has a better keyboard and trackpad, its faster, and even the extra weight makes it feel like a better laptop. In tablet mode, the bulk is a bit of a downgrade, but it still perfectly suffices when I need a tablet. The USI pens are the biggest downgrade. Even though I'm not an artist and mostly use pens for note-taking, I've noticed the USI pens are much less sensitive than EMR pens, and the rare times I want to write more lightly the USI pens won't register the lighter touches. So hopefully we see either vast improvements in USI pens in the future with companies like Samsung bring their S Pen experience to USI pens, or a return to having EMR pens on new Chromebooks.
Totally agreed on stickers. They're a hangover from the 1990s Windows laptops. I leave them on as those stickers marks are worse. Agreed never got why you have to put up with them on a device you've paid for.
This is why I'm so in love with your channel and all you do. This is a fantastic review. Thank you!
I have the original Pixelbook and I'm really considering the Spin 713, but not sure if I should wait to see what comes out this year.
Thanks again. 👍
Thanks for this in depth review! Really helps Chromebook fans for our next purchase!
I got the 1st gen for 700$ and have already made 4000$ using it for work so I freaking love the thing.
Would any Chromebook have made you that same amount of money, or only this particular one? 🤔
Bought the 1 and 2 to try out. The 1 wins hands down especially at the 500 open box price I got it at. I bought a quick charge battery pack and have the best of both worlds. Sent the 2 back.
I tried other chromebooks to replace my broken pixelbook. The flex 5 (terrible screen) and the hp x360 14c ( too heavy), the acer spin 713 ( I didn't like the design or feel). couldn't do it. The galaxy chromebook 2 was the only one. I wish it was a little cheaper, but I love mine.
It’s hard to beat the Acer Spin 713 for build quality, screen real estate, NvME storage, 8GB ram, Core i5 processor, gorilla glass track pad, variety of ports ( two usb type c, hdmi, usb type a). All for $530 when you catch it on sale.
Even at $630, it's an awesome deal.
No kidding regarding you comment on the stickers.
Stickers on products have been a problem for DECADES and yet they still keep putting them on everything or those things that need it, they make sure to use stupid thin paper stickers with the world's greatest adhesives. I still have some dishes with adhesive residue on them. Soak in hot water, soak the decal is dish soap, heat, etc. Work for some and do little for others.
Computers like nice laptops - totally get the aesthetics ruined by decals.
Nice honest honest review.
I couldn’t decide between the acer and this one. Just bought this Samsung as Best Buy had it on sale for $300 over the weekend 8/128. Happy so far. Love the red. Samsung must have listened as mine did not have the big black sticker to the left of the trackpad. Thanks for this review. I knew what I was buying.
So tough to compete against the Spin 713.
i have this same chromebook but i think i samsung chromebook 2 is better
So I got this the other day. I actually do like it better than the original but I also had issues with the original including the touchpad going out multiple times, the battery dying too quickly and it definitely got way too hot. While I wish the new one had the power of the old one, I hardly notice a difference enough in my usage to be too concerned about it. My only thing is they could lower the price a little. Only reason I got the 2 was because Samsung finally offered to just replace my 1 and I asked for the 2 and they ended up doing that.
I reviewed this on my channel and I very much disagree with the tone of your review. The content is phenomenal and of course it's phenomenal quality, I just feel like the experience is more positive then negative!
The HP Chromebook x360 retails only $70 cheaper with less storage and a far worse screen, but you rated it well and had a positive tone in the review simply because you expected sales on the device. Your expectations were that it will probably go on sale, and whenever it does go cheaper, that makes it worth buying. That's the exact case with this Chromebook. Sure it's priced a little high at retail, but the only device that really beats it at retail is the Acer Spin 713. You can't judge this Samsung compared to the SALE PRICE of the Acer or HP. The Acer retails for $70 cheaper, and has nvme storage, and an i5, and sightly more screen resolution. That's it. So sure. It's a better "buy" but it's also a budget brand and a heavier device!
I found that the Samsung has good battery life, great performance, and a great display, with a good keyboard and trackpad, and it's only missing nvme storage and maybe a full aluminum body, it's a pretty complete Chromebook. So a review shouldn't be so negative just because of price alone, or just because the old Galaxy Chromebook had more (at $300 more in price).
Personally I think this model deserves a strongly positive review, with some caveats about nvme storage (for those who need it) or the price. People need to know it's not the best value at $699, sure, but it's a phenomenal Chromebook.
PS: When you talk about the Chromebook x360 or the Flex 5, remember that they have far worse quality 250 nit screens. The Flex has no aluminum at all and the HP has the same half aluminum half plastic build. But again, at retail that device is only $70 cheaper with even more tradeoffs.
This is a terrific review. You're correct in everything your saying, but I think the emphasis is more negative then positive, when in reality it's not quite as overpriced as we think, and it could easily go on sale like the HP
I would not say that the Chromebook 2 is bad, just too expensive at this time. Like with everything, a change in price will change demand so that is taken. I am a fan of QLED so the display is a big plus, but the loss of some great specs from fast storage, to silo for s-pen, to the extra camera, to OLED, to quality, to the better chipset to its fingerprint sensor all leave a bitter taste. Disappointed more than anything else I think?
@@andyH_England exactly! People are comparing it to last year's model which leaves people disappointed which leads to the tone found in this review. It's understandable, but I do think it makes people think that this device isn't any good.
Like you said, once it goes on sale it will be a lot more appealing to people. I just want people to realize that it is a really good device especially when you find it on sale later
I 100% agree with you. If you are coming from a premium chromebook, like a pixelbook. this is about the only one with a screen that will cut it. I love the specs of the Acer spin 713, but I didn't like the design or feel. I'm actually really liking the 16x9 ratio on the galaxy chromebook 2. It's great for media and remote desktop sessions.
@@TheGassgs exactly! It's faster than even the i7 Pixelbook Go, it's got a great screen, and I think it has a better design/built then the Acer. I like that it's lighter, and the screen is amazing and performance too, so outside of the Acer there isn't much competition in this space
Well, its been on blowout prices so far this year, this guy should redo his review with an updated objective one
Just bought this on sale for $450 as the specs state "Add any USI pen to your Galaxy Chromebook 2". So of course I believed it applied to the spen. Although the included spen is the only reason I've stayed with Samsung for 15+ years, I was disappointed but purchased it anyway. I was sure I could use the spen that came with my Galaxy Tab s6 Lite. They are absolutely incompatible. I had no reason to believe they wouldn't work together as I also have a Samsung Chromebook V2 which came with an spen which I can easily interchange with my tablet's spen.
I really hope next version would be AMOLED again, with 2K display, the new Samsung Exynos chip with RDNA gpu, and a bit bigger screen, I think they can make a 14' inch screen with the same chassis.
Awesome video. Thanks for the headsup on the bending issue at minute 5:47 (a deal breaker for me even at the $500 sale price for the higher end model at samsung's website ) Keep the good work !
Do you always bend your Chromebook when you get up in the morning, or just at night, smh.... 🤔😃
Still like the Pixel Book Go. Got one for work and LOVE it 😊
Yep, me too. I'm sticking with it until something equally appealing comes out.
They are $329.00 now for the I3 Version & $179 for the celeron.. what do you think about that? Worth it?
I knew it that's my why I brought the original on sale .
I think high end chrome books are pointless. The mid range ones are where it’s at.
exactly. Once you hit a certain price point, I think getting a Windows Laptop would be better.
Love your take!
I got mine for $579 and am very happy so far! 😊
Thanks for your honest review. I did not expect the device to be so bad. Sure retail price of expensive, I guessed that and that most will enjoy this device when discounts are starting. Plastic palm rest is a major letdown. Lenovo switched to full magnesium chassis or at least magnesium palm rests in their current generation of Thinkpads, and that is a big difference. Even more so on much thinner Chromebooks. Yeah C302 was fine back then, though a bit wobbly, I thought I could replace my C434 with the Galaxy Chromebook 2 to have generation 1 and 2. Not happening, C434 is good enough, SGC2 would be a downgrade in many aspects. Lets see how it can make a name for itself in the market and what Samsung will do with the follow up device (gen 3). I few people who don't spend big money on devices may still enjoy this device very much if they haven't tried Chromebooks before. It will be interesting to see if these will arrive in Germany at some time or not. I guess not, at the current price and performance it will damage the reputation of the 1st gen device. Galaxy smartphones didn't take off until 3rd generation, almost no one but me remembers GT-i7500 (Galaxy) and GT-i5700 (Galaxy Spica). So let's wait and see.
I guess that UFS cards are also not supported, only micro SD.
Thanks for the honest review
It's still an overall better package than the original. Agreed though.
Damn the 3:2 screen for 13.3 inch screen is really better . But which screen quality is better between the acer spin 713 and the samsung chromebook 2
i don't look to Samsung to lead the innovation of Chromebooks, that's really on Google in one way or the other. I think 64 GB need to stop unless their for sold to schools and absolutely agree on the stickers also intel celeron on a mid range seems always off just don't make it into an option that anyone can buy. It's just not a good experience, move past these small hurdles and consumers will recognize and appreciate it.
Man that's unfortunate. Great video. Unrelated question: What band are you using on your Fitbit? The silicon one is destroying my wrist and that one looks slick.
I was in the market for a new chromebook and I was hovering over the details on amazon and samsung's websites.... If I had been even slightly more impatient I would not have recognized that it was a lesser machine... this will be a marketing and sales disaster for the brand.... I ended up with a Lenovo C13.
BTW would be great to see a review on "certified" cheomeos devices.... I would NEVER buy a certified mac and the only certified PC would be one that I installed *nix on... thanks.
Thanks for the input/review. I have a question. I have an old Toshiba Chromebook and come September it will not be updated anymore. It works perfectly but I wonder what to do with it as their is nothing wrong with how i use it...So: 1- Can I install antivirus program to have protect? 2- What uses can it be used for or how to get rid of it. I currently use an HDMI cable from this Chromebook to my TV and use Locast to watch local TV as I'm in a rural setting. Just might be a good subject for discussion. Again, Thanks much.
Wow I Love 2in1 Convertible Laptop, I Could Change it into Big Screen Tablet, Magnificent!!! 😍😍😍

It's the best all round Chromebook imo. Core i5 is the sweet spot. I'm.not interested in tablet / tent modes, pens or a 4k screen draining battery; it's a laptop. Great keyboard, great battery, very light and with clean design language. @@hsv361
@@MattTerrell Yes, I feel just the same. lol I have the m3. Lots of tabs open, no issues, I'm a proofreader. It has a way better camera too for Zoom calls. I think Pixel Slate is the only other Chromebook (I know of) with a 1080p.
I don't know if the title was an intentional Switchfoot reference, but I'm still digging it.
I reaaaaaaally want this color and build quality in a smaller Sony Vaio P form factor. A slim Chromebook to slip into an inner suit pocket would be very handy for presentations and email. GPD pocket 2 is the closest I can find, but I want this style in a smaller Chromebook. I'm going to post this message on all Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 videos in hopes a dev sees it and makes it.
My Chromebook C330 is fanless, quiet, TEN hours battery life, all for $199 (Best Buy sale last year). Priceless.
Hi, love your channel.
can u recommend a Chromebook that has the following:
1. Good touch screen at least 1080p (doesnt need to be overkill 4K)
2. Built in Stylus
3. Battery life above 7 hours
4. Can play Genshin Impact (aka good specs)
5. back lit keyboard
Cost is not too big of an issue
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook seemed to fit the above but failed miserably on battery life.
I love the honest review and I have no doubt you always give honest reviews. I think Samsung is banking on their name and that too many people worship them. They don't have to put out great products because their fan base doesn't require them to
On my OG Galaxy Chromebook, the black label did come right off no problem. It did leave some residue marking but it came off pretty easy with a microfiber towel. However, mine is aluminium and not plastic.
Picked one up for $549 black friday/cyber Monday price. It's worth it at that price.
My 9 y.o. daughter wants a computer and idk what chromebook to get her. This one is only 100 dollars with a celeron chip in gray which is very appealing to me
I should say that I got the 128gb 8gs of RAM on sale brand new for $299. Thanks again.

Love the color
How is this 2021 Samsung Chromebook 2 in 2024? I seen these as low as $299-$329 brand new. Used in excellent condition for as low as $150.
Yes URL has been captured for this domain.
I would say that 16:9 is a pro. Androd apps work way better on 16:9 than 3:2 but this device is just too expensive for the specs.
What are some good alternatives to this other than the pixelbook go? Google only sells the pixelbooks in a few countries just like they do with their phones.
I was able to get mine for $350 USB with a Mote 10+ trade-in. I totally agree with you on the typing. It's like I feels kinda like the keys are a little too close together or too small. It just feels odd. I like it enough not to hate my purchase. Hopefully I'll get use to that keyboard.
I am very happy with mine, but some things you can't unsee, like the chassis flex. I love the display and the boxy design. The fan turns on only occasionally. The specs are all I need for blogging, Google Drive, and web apps (though I did get a USB mechanical keyboard for more comfortable typing). The sticker was horrible. It took me 15 minutes to remove it with the the help of Goo Gone, a cotton ball, and some damp paper towels. I got an HP USI pen as well. I would have liked a fingerprint sensor. But the worst feature is the webcam. It's so poor, I use a monochrome filter to help hide how terrible it is. Thankfully this is my blogging device, not my device for video meetings.
Your biggest mistake was using goo be gone. Works, but nasty stinky crap I only use outdoors. 😃
In March of 2024 brand new on sale for $299.99 from best buy did I get a good deal? I've never owned a chromebook before and as I've researched more and more, I wonder if I should have sought out the original? I love the Red but would have liked to have had an SSD and S Pen. Would be very curious to hear your thoughts at $299.99 in March of 2024 if you don't mind and have some time. Thank you.
If you've done your research you'd know you got an absolutely great deal. Then the only opinion that matters, is yours, and how you like it 😃
Tell me, what’s the trade off with the Spin 713?
no fingerprint sensor
meh speakers
big bezels
boring/ ugly look
the sticker issue is ridiculous. Photos of the product don't show so putting stickers on it means that customers are not getting what's being advertised. I'd return it if I wasn't able to get the sticker off cleanly.
Would you recommend it today for $299?
Exact same feeling when I looked at this chromebook at Best buy. I hate when companies throttle back too much and still expect a high price. Wrong Samsung.
Can you please review the HP Chromebook 14a-na0023cl
I got my little weak core m3 c434 as a Christmas gift (giver probably didn’t even realize it was a chromebook), so there’s no getting rid of it until it’s been long enough for me to lie about it being old and needing an upgrade.
The Basic model is on sale at best buy for $449.......is that worth it?
Definitely worth it at this years price, this guy needs to update his review.
How does this fair vs the flex book alpha?
I just bought this Chromebook, new, for $385 bucks. I feel this was a steal for what it is. I CANNOT see me paying $700 for it, though. Never. Whats your thoughts on it for the price I got it for?
The only opinion that matters is yours 👍
The Lenovo Chromebook Flex is $390 on Amazon right now. Flat out the best chromie to buy.
Or even the 8GB RAM version for $519.
It's definitely one of the best deals out. Only 4 gb of ram will be a rough deal for some. But it's a great Chromebook if you can live with that. Great device for a cheaper price.
This device has more storage, ram, a better build (half aluminum) and a better display. But that's maybe worth an extra $150 to $200.. it's a great device, the Galaxy Chromebook 2. But not the best priced. The Flex is a bargain for sure
@@BrendanMacWade I got the 8GB RAM version for $466 on Amazon last month, it's not there now, but will be back. I've seen it come and go a few times.
The flex 5 screen is garbage
@@TheGassgs definitely not half as good as either of the Galaxy chromebook models
When I open my chromebook it automatically starts opening the Google play store. Is there a way to stop this
I have a question. Is this a good purchase 3 years later? Thanks
This is a tough sell when a Chrombook Pixel (2013) running cloudready (ChromeOS v87) and some basic EC scripting runs better than the Chrome version 69 Google stuck it with after they abandoned it.
My Acer C740 goes out of support this summer. I have not found anything that matches that device available today.
Are you going to a current recommendations video anytime soon?
Can you download android apps on the chromebook since it has the playstore
They should've kept the fingerprint sensor and NVMe SSD. That could justify a $300 lower price tag. But removing almost everything that made the original Galaxy Chromebook premium and still asking a premium (yes, $699 is a premium range for Chromebooks) price, this is just wrong. For $549 Core i3 version would be okay but for $699 it is just hard to justify. All this Chromebook 2 got is a design and the QLED display, everything else is subpar. Whose idea was to remove a fingerprint sensor and all-aluminum chassis? So I buy a premium Chromebook for its simplicity but yet great premium feel and ease of use but I don't get these things. For $699 I have to feel plastic and enter a password every single time I open lift the lid? What's the point of the "quick start" if I have to enter a password? Once you got used to biometric on all your devices it is so annoying to go back to entering passwords. I'm ok to do it occasionally, but every single time I open the Chromebook? And for $699?
Yes, I agree, 4K is not necessary. I agree, S-Pen is not necessary either. I even agree Core i5 is not necessary as well. But removing everything that makes the device premium and worthy $699? For someone who comes from cheap laptops, it would seem premium, but for everyone else, it is just not worth it. And it is sad.
I would buy it if it had a fingerprint sensor and NVMe SSD. I would go for the original Galaxy Chromebook, $799 (current price) is ok for me, but very bad battery life and overheating are critical factors for me
Samsung Chromebook so cool.😀
10:53 ah so I being able to buy then at 505+ shipping seems like a good buy for me!
I have one and it was purchased for me.Icwas let down cause It don't have the pen to it nor do it have the camera on the bottom when you open it up
I think companies should let the customers choose the aspect ratio of the display.
My touch screen doesn’t work idk why, any way to go around this? I looked it up on yt to see what I could do and nothing has solved the problem, has anyone gone through this?
Hey I have the same chromebook but I don’t know how to turn on touch screen or I don’t know if it’s not working.
That's how a chromebook works all right
when will this notebook arrive in Brazil ❓
Great Review
Good vid!
If I get one of these models in 2024 now brand new for a price of $300, is it worth it?
If you've done your own research you'd know it's absolutely worth it at that price.
Is this Chromebook different than the one at Best Buy that appears to come with an S Pen and a fingerprint reader? XE930QCA-K01US
The only benefit I see in buying a Samsung galaxy google Chromebook or google Chromebook is the google messages! other than that I would either buy a MacBook or Microsoft surface!
...cover the black Samsung sticker another sticker...company logo etc...?...
So is the original Galaxy Chromebook better?
How to use mouse ?
