Its a lot more intriguing than that. We saw Santos hold Valentina down, so there is no reason Erin can't plus she is a lot more of a submission threat. Obviously she has to be careful on the feet but there is a path to victory for Blanchfield

@@nickmildon6348 With a champion like Valentina motivation can become an issue as victories pile up. Same with someone like Nunes. Look what happened in the first Nunes-Pena fight. Amanda wasn't prepared, got beat, and maybe people were writing her off. But in the rematch with Pena, when Nunes now had something to prove again, Nunes destroyed Pena and regained her title. I'm sure Valentina is hearing all the people saying how Santos should have won the last fight, and what's this? Now there's this young girl Erin Blanchfield who people believe can beat Valentina. Might submit Valentina, which has never been done before. Champions like Valentina use all this as motivation. Of course, if she struggles against Grasso in a few weeks, then nevermind. lol.

Talia already beat shevchenko and now shes ducking her for rematch after robbery win, she's been exposed and beat already and shes not getting any younger as an fighter, I think she loses a talia rematch, blacfield has potential but I think her defence needs serious work, i can see shevchenko picking her apart, she can defintely beat shevchenko in grappling department and therefore another big threat like talia who should be the champion right now, she beats her if they have a rematch mark my words

Erin is such an exciting prospect. Reminds me of Beniel Dariush in that she has excellent textbook technique and rarely seems to make mistakes while being very well rounded and having no obvious gaps in her game.
Can't wait to see what's next for her.

I like Blanchfield, but I don't think she's ready for Bullet. Valentina's just so good at mixing things up - both on the feet and on the ground. She's like the Mighty Mouse in women's MMA.

Valentina doesn't have anyone outside of Manon and Blanchfield, so I'd say we should have the fight. Plus, if Blanchfield ain't ready, who is?
She's not mighty mouse. Not close. Shevchenko is well rounded but she is still a specialist. Santos out grappled her on almost every engagement. Even when she gained a dominant position it was reversed easily. She bjj is good but it's not great. Her wrestling is good but not technically proficient. Erin has much better grappling and wrestling. While Shevchenko is definitely better on the feet, she can still compete with her on the feet unlike most flyweights. Erin is definitely better at mixing things up. That being said, it doesn't mean that Shevchenko won't beat her tho. Most champions are actually specialist, and not so well rounded like Blanchfield. You don't have to be.

Most well rounded fighter in that division. Great wrestling, great striking, great grappling. It's between her Shevchenko and Santos, and Firot as the best 125er. We'll find out soon.

@matrix35 No. You have no clue about what you're talking about. I doubt any flyweight will ever have better striking than Shevchenko this Era. You don't have to beat fighters at their own game, as long as you impose your own. You should know that by now. How many grapplers have submitted strikers? How my strikers have knocked out wrestlers? Erin might not even have to strike with Valentina at all. She doesn't need to have Shevchenkos striking to beat her, not at all.

By the way when the schmo is actually his authentic self he is super knowledgeable. Wish we saw him as himself more.

Great stuff Dave , Valentina poses a very busy strong stand up , with a kick and punch attack all 5 rounds , unlike all of Erins opps , Bullet is just too allusive and with such volume , but I will say that if Erin can take it to 4 and 5 and control Bullet on the ground both 4 and 5 , then we might have a new champ.
We will see though , what Dana wants , if it is a 💰 for King Dana , then we might see them 2 at international fight week.
