- We hit a New Paylayer of Red Conglomerate gravels that has Fines, Nuggets and even Wire Gold . We can't believe how much Gold is coming out of this Paylayer in our drift mine.

Höchstens ne Goldene Schallplatte, LOL. Hey Jeff , At 00:37 I see All those holes on the roof leading into your portal are those to strethen the ground above you? I saw that once on a video of the deapest mine in the world where they would drill into the earth upwards and then insert some sort of long screw or beam of iron to hold the ground above them?

Hell Jeff, I had a quick question for you. I have been making pure red clay using the floating process. After this was finished I had some super nice clay, but this is where my question comes in play. When I start getting ready to use it and apply heat to the clay it start blowing up like little firecrackers until all the clay is gone. Well all over the place. Any idea as to what this tiny mineral is? Thank you for your time.

hi John the iron that is in the gravel zone will oxidize ( weather ) and turn a redish color making the soil turn that color as well

Before you wash the sample in water,why not run the detector over it to know if the sample contains gold or not?

hey Jeff, I know this is a relatively old video, but you got me thinking when you said the back was solid Calici. Also that acts as a fault bedrock. Would there be any gold on top of that back another words on the other side of it? it would a multi story Goldmine. That’s cool
yes there may be Gold on it but pour initial testing through that zone showed very little if any

I enjoy your channel Jeff but I have a question. Most of the gold you find seems to be relatively small nuggets or tiny granular pieces. Then you turn around and give away much of the gold that you find. So my question is this: How is any of this worthwhile in a "rewards" sense? How are you able to make enough money to stake claims, buy supplies, video equipment and lights, metal detectors, shoring materials, etc.? Does Patreon provide that much income? Or do you have a day job and this is just an expensive part-time hobby?

...New Orleans...Lake Pontchartrain's bottom was completely covered with tons of freshwater clams until mined for streets and driveways from the 30's to 70's...
...(no rocks at all in this delta area)...

Hi Bill Thanks for your support and yes we have seen that done before but has to be Free Mill Gold and a lot of it to make it worth it....use the water to pan out section by section to find the best place the suck it up.

Just was wondering why so many desert prospectors find good gold in red dirt/rusty quartz? Especially in Australia and Arizona deserts? I know the red is iron but what's that have to do with gold? I am sure not all reddish/orange dirt has gold so are there tricks you guys use besides just detecting and sampling to find the good gold bearing red dirt? In areas of Ohio and Kentucky we look for bluish clay layers along the creeks/under rocks which can have gold bits resting on top of them, a false bedrock I guess.
There is a reason for that Jon.....we teach classes on it.
I got a question...If you own a mining claim for a set amount of acres, and you sink a shaft and then a drift and your drift continues beyond the boundaries of your surface claim acreage...do you have to own a claim to the adjoining areas? Or can you just tunnel where ever you want as far as you want (or can afford). Is there a depth limit? At what point does the government start to take a real interest in what you're doing underground regulation wise?

Dang there is lots of gold every where down there. I wonder if you just sweep the floor and pan it you find more gold. I bet you cant work all the time down there you would get too tired. But I would try to work a lot LOL. Looks like hard azz work to me though. You have to be tough to do that all the time.

around 15:00 when you hold the shell up. i see a lot of glittering on the wall behind. Those are not gold flakes / nuggets right? What could it be?
that would be all the Gypsum Crystals....
if you get some of those shells in bulk you can probably sell them on ebay for a couple buck a piece. lots of people buy fossils on ebay.
