If we maintain correctly Diesel engines will run upto 5,00,000 kms. Diesel also works as lubricant oil which keeps parts lubrication. As it doesn't have spark plug maintenance is low. I own Hyundai Xcent 2017 Diesel car, till now no issues.
But it's only visible pollution...The pollution during developing an electric vehicles is 3 times higher than the carbon monoxide produced by diesel , petrol... There is nothing like a clean environment friendly vehicles
