  • A picturesque historical Masjid located inside a park.
A 20-minute walk from the city centre. This is the one and only Masjid in Kaunas and one of only four in Lithuania. This brick Masjid was built in the year 1930-1933 by the state of Lithuania for the local Lipka Tatars in Lithuania. Before that, it used to be a wooden structure built by Alexander Illasevich, a local of Kaunas of Tatar descent in around 1906.
Lithuania is the only Baltic country with a purpose built Masjid.
After WWII in 1947 during the Soviet era, the Masjid was converted into an event hall for circus and later on to a museum in 1972.
After the independence of Lithuania in 1990, this place was converted back to a Masjid again.
This current building was repaired and renovated again in 2007-08.
    Address: Totorių g. 6, Kaunas 44236, Lithuania
