I always thought they took a lot of inspiration from Alyx, even down to the voice changer on the Combine. I had assumed they just took the same effect from Alyx because they sound so similar. And this game has a lot of humor in its dialogue, I also assumed it was inspired off Portal 2 and Alyx

i like that at 11:44 the soldier wasn't directly killed by the grenade that bounced off the manhack, instead the explosion launched a nearby potted plant into the wall, and the pot broke but left the plant inside perfectly intact, which then bounced off the wall and into the soldier's head, killing him instantly
@@DeadwaterGaming there's also a bug you might've missed and might be patched out by now where if you save and reload while the dropship is carrying over your apc but before it actually drops it off, the apc starts flipping out and shoots off into the sky before you can get on it

In Opposing Force and Entropy: Zero 2, you play as the bad guy. In Blue Shift and Entropy: Zero 1, you play as someone just trying to survive the chaos on the original Half-Life games.
God they nailed replicating the combine soldier voice with just a hint of life (and a lot of anger issues) added to it for 2 like he sounds just like how I’d imagine a human speaking through a combine soldier would
This is a very good mod. Finally, someone used the secrets of the correct game design (which were not hidden by anyone), and also took a normal writer. And there are also so many interesting ideas here! Plankton pumped up by an anomaly, Zen grenades, a field that turns into skeletons, and so on...
My favorite idea were the rebels decked out with Aperture technology. They added so much dynamic flow to the combat and made it really fun honestly. I played it on the hardest difficulty and their introduction was great.
I like the implication with the Xen grenades that Aperture was monkeying around with time-space in parallel with Black Mesa, but still weren't the ones to cause the apocalypse.
My favorite discovery in this mod was testing to see if the turret at the reception desk was a working one or not, I toppled it over and when it started shooting bullets… I used it for the rest of that chapter. Idk if it was an accidental oversight or what, but it was great using it in the boss fight. Update: I brought her with me as a replacement for Wilson through the whole game on my 3rd play through. Very useful companion. She’s the only turret that never runs out of ammo and has a wide variety of targets. Although some of the things it won’t shoot is weird. It’ll shoot Rebel Manhacks just fine, but it won’t shoot Clone Cops Manhacks. It’ll also shoot Vortigaunts, but it won’t shoot Zomb-gaunts. Oh and it won’t shoot the Advisor either unfortunately (although I think none of the turrets do)…

I played the Entropy Zero games after watching (mostly listening to) this video and now I just call the Radio Guy “Keith Kevin Ryan.” I don’t have the heart to call the character the same name as the actor, Mitch. Especially knowing his fate.
Just, FYI, a lot of the EZ2 concepts were developed prior to HL:A, so its just a coincidence that the gonome gameplay resembles Jeff gameplay, or the temporal crab resembles the lightning dog, etc.
Oh, and since i came back to this Comment i would also like to give another Fun Fact that i discovered when i was goofing around. At 12:03 at the Top Left of the Screen you can see that there's an Room that you cannot access above you. There's a way to get up there by simply getting some Boxes and climbing up them to it, and you can find an RPG up there. And you can get the RPG Earlier in the Game that way.

I think the actual meaning of the vort mural at 49:46 is that the advisors are bridging the gap between earth and Xen with portals made by Aperture? I’m not exactly sure, but I know Aperture, their portals, and Xen have something connected in this mural.
Totally, it feels like a legit official expansion Valve would've made if they didn't just go radio silent for years after Episode 2 and actually decided to make HL2 expansions akin to Blue Shift and Opposing Force.
The reason that headcrab looked like a turkey is because there are two types of regular headcrabs in the game The Xen headcrab, which looks like the one from HL1, with the weird teeth in it's head cavity and a visible skull when it's latched onto a human. The Combine Modified headcrab, which looks like the one from HL2, being almost completely hollow in the head cavity.

32:49 I solved that puzzle by luring all the zombies to a vent and then kicking them all to death. No zombies, no triggering the turrets, no giant zombie interrupting the puzzle.
So Entropy Zero 2 been on my recommending a lot rn, decided to look it up, saw this vid and thought "Hey this looks like a good vid to eat pizza for after seeing the vid for 10 already" so i did, was a good pizza and enjoyable vid
This is the first time in awhile that I stopped watching a video partway thought to go download the game and play it myself... This is hands down one of the best mods I have played for HL2. It nails everything good about the original material, managed to make escorting a quippy side character fun, and tells a story that Valve refused to for so long. 11/10 would recommend.
I played through all of EZ:2 so I wouldn't get any spoilers when I watched this video, but when I started watching, it came as a major surprise to me that I was not, in fact, going to watch a proper playthrough of EZ:2, but instead two guys destroying all the foundation the game had, breaking the code to it's limits, and ignoring any bit of lore whilst doing so.
I played through this without having played Entropy Zero itself, so it was an experience to be sure. I also played it on Hard, so it makes sense why y’all didn’t. Lmao.

Believe it or not, the "Jeff" chapter was actually concepted and realized before Alyx even came out, along with a bunch of other coincidences.

I've been taking it with me In my second playthrough, I think you can take it through the whole game, and they're pretty helpful

This mod could probably be sold as a game, it's that good. It would get better ratings than a lot of games.
This mod is really enjoyable, i love that crossovers and some beta stuff, and duo of cloned metrocop with obsolete turret is awesome.
