Chell when you said you were slow, the slight issue is you actually air roll a little too much, when you go up for every aerial you are spinning and moving in different directions which messes up your trajectory, try quick aerialing straight up to the ball and rotating your car how you need just before you hit the ball, or practice flying your car upside down and sideways (I'm serious lol) and you could rotate your car halfway up and continue flying up that way for like redirect passes. hope this helps you and some of this community!
