I've been meaning to ask this for a long time: how did you get the instruments? Did you accurately recreate them or you ripped them straight out from the game? I've been looking for these since I got my interest in the Pocket Adventure music style they went with (and of course you!), and I really really want to make my own covers based on that style This sounds great by the way, keep it up
Hi I'm glad you liked it. Because T6W28 is a PSG soundchip, there aren't instruments you can rip because they are only simple pulse tones. VGM of NGP and SMS/GG soundchip only contain the information of the volume and the note frequency which is going to sound at an specific moment and not data of envelopes such as macros of any tracker. So it's more like an stream audio than a midi sequence. The only way is recreating the instruments.
Sonic Pocket Adventure’s distinct sound works really well for its own renditions, so it makes sense that it would work with these songs, too. I think you made great decisions on where to nip and tuck to get around the sound channel limitations! Always wondered how a full version of Hydrocity 2 would sound on SPA. The game has that song, but it’s missing a decent chunk of it. Keep intending to poke around Furnace Tracker, but I can’t be arsed. Maybe someday lol
