I have been looking for a good quality air mattress that is easy to setup, comfortable and fits in the car when not in use. Tesla announced recently on their website that they would have these available for sale.
In this video, I look at what is in the box, setup and storage.

Think the big difference between this and the “official Tesla” one is the compressor…the Tesla one just came back in stock today and I caved/paid the $225

Will it work for Model Y 7 seater?
Does it compensate for the rear seats when it does not fold evenly flat ? The part with the armrest does not go as flat as the other seat....
anyone has a recommendation for a sheet that works with this matress?
Thank you for showing me how to deflate this mattress. I felt like such an idiot I've spent the last week with it fully inflated in the back of my car not being able to figure out how to deflate this thing.
It wasn’t all that intuitive. Took me a minute to figure it out as well. Glad it helped!

It actually is pretty comfortable. I have to test an actual overnight and report back.
is there any structure near the head/pillow area as it extends over the rear footwell to keep it from falling in if you put weight on it?
Good question. I reset everything up and did a test. If the front seats are moved forward, there is a decent gap, and the very front of the mattress will bow down a bit. Nothing that will crash you forward, but it does tip a bit. If you get the mattress adjusted and move the front seats back to the edge of the mattress, it limits this quite a bit. Plus, unless your head weights 50lbs, it really doesn’t effect the laying down pose. Thanks for the comment. Hopefully this helped.
@@TeslaModelYdaho This does help, thank you. I've created solves for this in my current bed setup, and it ends up being vital for me. I'm 6ft5 and I have to have my head go pretty far forward, and not having a support there ends up causing some issues. Like when shifting around, or when trying to crawl forward to reach the screen. Your research has saved me some headache, thank you!
Hi! Does the Tesla mat automatically put the air in the mat without using the air pump?
It does allow some air into the mattress, but I would not use it without an air pump.
Question is, is it better than the exped auto? :)
The mattress is comparable to other mattresses I have used with this car, but the fact that it deflates and is self contained and storable in the car is a huge plus. I used to have to keep other mattresses in the garage until I was ready to use.

How comfortable is it? Is it better than a tri-fold foam twin mattress in the back? That is what I currently use.

The main reason I like this mattress better is the ability to store it in the car. The trifold took up too much room. Comfort wise, the trifold might be a slightly more comfortable.
@@TeslaModelYdaho thanks! yeah for camping trips the tri-fold takes up a lot of space plus I like the little bit of extra coverage it looks like this air mattress provides at the sides of the top and bottom.
They didn't do anything about the elevation on one side from the folded seats?
Correct. It would be cool if it was somehow built up on the rear of the car to level the mattress.

Here is one on Kickstarter. I have tested this on Tesla Camper day and it is grate, but it is super expensive unfortunately :( . The Tesla Mattress is a budget option compared.

Crazy question, but is it actually comfortable. Did you sleep on it?
I actually didn’t sleep on it until recently. It wasn’t like sleeping at home in my bed, but it got the job done, and I felt fine the next day. Took a little getting used to find a comfortable position.
