Starting on “option b” on numbani first defense is op. I don’t think playing over where they started is ever the play. Playing that opposite side high grind allows you to see every sight line and easily hit the big nades no matter where they walk out from. Plus you can easily fall back to the blue car from there.
@@meat3958 No. Intrusive thoughts are not only thoughts that you don't want to have, but that are harmful and distressing for the person having them (When holding a knife, you think of stabbing yourself/someone else; when driving you suddenly want to swerve into a wall or pedestrians, etc). Impulsive is correct. Using intrusive is co-opting and minimizing the significance of a term that people who struggle with mental illness use to communicate the severity of their symptoms.
This was pretty educational- I learned a lot about rotation, reading the fight, what happens if your tank comes back, some cool sightlines. Cool tech to nade cancel, and some tips on when to scope in. Anddd all those sleeps were so good :o
as a current Masters 3, its wild how easy games get the higher sr you have vs Plat games. This is a piece of cake when you put it next to a Gold game considering your team mates aren't actual imbeciles in high rank games
I 100% agréé. I’m about to hit gm, currently a master 1 soldier main and high rank games are 100x easier then mid-low rank games. I have a alt that’s plat 2 that I play with a friend, and plat games are incredibly frustrating lol
I don't usually scope due to not being very good at hitscan types of characters, excelling more at projectiles which requires more prediction like hanzo, sigma and even junkrat. Despite that, I do get flamed for not being able to often kill a flying character and the team would be screaming for me to play a hitscan, when it would likely screw my gameplay over a hundred fold.
I used to play Ana that exact same way in OW1 but I realized that it's inefficient in situations like needing to focus down a Pharah or Mercy, especially when your DPS aren't swapping to hitscan either. Balance it out though; in close-range moments, you can opt to unscope since the bullet travel time isn't harsh but in mid/long-range fights, best to scope. Tweak your sensitivity for Ana specifically so you feel comfortable landing more scoped shots. Once you improve on Ana, you'll enjoy other hitscan options like Baptiste, Bastion, Ashe, etc. I still suck with Widow but getting better with Ana has made me enjoy Ashe a lot.
The problem with Ana‘s unscoped shot is that it has the same hurtbox size as any hitscan shot (0 projectile radius), whereas any other projectile has an increased hurtbox size, making it easier to hit. So Ana‘s unscoped shot is pretty much the hardest to hit projectile in the game (except projectiles with much lower velocity ofc) and the only advantage over scoping in is higher FOV and movement speed (as well as the ability to jump).
After learning to scope shown Pharahs playing against her has gotten a lot more fun for me. Sometimes the Pharah is really good and I still get wrecked though
Practice the hitscan shots. I did the same at the beginning, but you basically turn your biggest advantage into an impossibility, as you you no longer can pressure and heal from too far away without accuracy decline. Just hitting a few snipes every once and a while and healing from there is the goal. You can honestly kill and solo people with the snipe, but if they are wiggling and in front of you, no scoping can be easier to heal and its okay to do so in certain places. Id say just a bit of time in practice range or workshops for ana and you can grab back the hitscan value, as its really game changing when you can also kill the Pharah or Echo or Widow by yourself at the same time as watching your team
So my biggest sticking point from ow 1 ana to ow 2 has been quick scoping. They changed the scope speed to be slower, they lock you into scope speed earlier in the animation, and they don't allow you to pull the trigger until later in the animation. I'm confident in my ana's positioning so fortunately most of the time I feel like I'm full scoping even more than ow1 where quick scoping was a crutch to my play but it still a huge missing gap to my play. How do you do it nowadays?
I'm going to be honest I never felt the change to scope speed - quickscoping feels the same to me. Just get the reps in and practice. If you're getting "locked out" of the quickscope it's probably because you aren't waiting long enough between shots. Quickscopes have the slowest tempo between shots so you have to wait longer (compared to a fully unscoped/scoped shot) before re-scoping and shooting again
lowkey i thought that was the point. only use scope when necessary, that's why i thought it recorded scope acc not hipfire, and why hipfire is faster and doesn't impede movement unlike scope. so you can bounce around, and just flick targets at a faster rate, but hit scan when you need it, but i'm a bronze 3-5, so i'm prob wrong because they game doesn't tell you jack about how to really play it, at least at comp levels.
:o this was very interesting, and it feels like opening up a whole new world to see all the macro decision making rationales that ppl have in GM. It's also inspired me to try ana as a person that can't use a scope for medical reasons, I just assumed I couldn't get good at ana at all but now I want to try her (obv not denying that scoping is better in a lot of situations if that's an option for you)
@@BensnHedge123 i don't know why (and I'm the only person I've ever heard of that's like this) but scoping in games gives me really bad chest pain. Anything that requires extreme precision does it but scoping far far more than anything else. So I can only use a scope in games for maybe 2-3 minutes which isn't even one game. Bodies are real weird lol

I'm a support player that havent played ow1(ow2 only) and I was using scope even less than this guy because i saw ana clips from top 500 and i tought that you were not supposed to scope in (for some reason) except from hitting characters in the air
Id say as a general rule of thumb of unscoped shots are for quickly healing teammates (higher fire rate) and for up close encounter but quickscope/ ads for anything farther than like 20m
Converting kills means creating picks, because converting something means turning into. So if you make a play that sets up a kill like throwing a nade, hitting a sleep etc, that converts picks.
Does anyone have an explanation for why out of I think 70+ comp games this season i have got Numbani ONCE??? and someone went afk and the game restarted..
Tip of advice I wish you would’ve said and most Ana players need to pick up on is to always confirm a kill (especially on a tank) w/ sleep + anti naid. If doomfist dies during that last fight they prolly win that round. Js
Guys can anyone help me by reviewing my Ana gameplay? I've never played Overwatch 1 started Overwatch 2 last October/November... I'm still confused with what support should I main or should I be a DPS main? Because I play Pharah as well... if there's a discord server pls tell me.... I've never played Competitive so that means no rank but I do wanna play Comp so pls advice me someone. Thanks
figure out what position you like. Play quickplay and learn the mechanics of the game and stick to it. The more characters you try to play when figuring it out, the worse you'll become. Just one trick one character and learn mechanics and game sense and you'll do great
