@@haileychanelle yes ma'am. is it bad to apply product everyday because i still dont know how often to apply to like refresh my curls in the mornings and in general
Clifford Thomas Unfortunately there’s no set answer for everyone. Sometimes I do it daily if the air is really dry or if it’s winter. Sometimes just once a week. The best way to tell if your hair is dry is to compare your day 2 (3,4, 5...etc)hair with your day 1 hair(most moisturized state). When I do a wash n go, I wet it every single morning because it gets flattened overnight. But, I also use that time to apply moisturizer if needed. This is where porosity plays a HUGE roll. How low or high the porosity of your hair is will tell you how often you need to refresh/water/moisturize your hair. That being said, if you feel your hair getting dry(dull, brittle, crusty, etc lol) there’s never anything wrong with adding water or your favorite moisturizer to wake it back up and sometimes even a sealant. If it’s super dry go ahead and do a wash day to clean your hair so you can apply product on clean hair. Sometimes applying product to really dirty hair impedes it’s ability to absorb and retain moisture. 🤷🏽♀️Just keep an eye on product build up. I hope that absolutely annoyingly vague answer helps! 😬
@@haileychanelle nooo odnt worry i appreciate you taking the time to type that, i have low porosity hair but what im afraid of is losing definition after applying product. should i use the rake method to apply the product every single time that i do?
Clifford Thomas No, after day one I do not use the raking method because it will ruin all my hard work as I’m sure you’ve experienced. 😂 When it is dry, I apply my moisturizer by lightly patting it on my head and throughout my curls( mainly my ends though). I try n make sure I don’t pull or tug on my curls as it will “break the cast”. After that, I use warm water in a spray bottle to apply the water, making it damp enough that my curls are a little weighted down. The warm water opens my cuticles and my hair absorbs the moisturizer and the water. Then I shake the heck out of my hair. Shaking also helps redistribute the product while helping lift any hair that’s been flattened from sleep. Sometimes I use a spray leave in conditioner instead of a cream if I really don’t want to disrupt my curls. After day 5 I just apply moisturizers with no technique cause my hair usually is frizzy and I want to make sure my hair is actually getting moisturizer 😂
So I subscribed to you right from the start coz as I said you TRULY are my hair twin. 😆 Anyway I am SO grateful for this video coz my poor hair been suffering girl! When you have about 3 inches of VERY tightly coiled hair like ours washing it ain't no joke so MsCocoChanelle (named after you my dear twin 🤗) has been neglected I'm very sad to say. 🤦🏾♀️ So from next wash day I will definitely be sectioning. I'm sure it's gonna make a HUGE difference! 😊Thanks so much for the tip sis.
My hair is about 4-5 inches long. If I prepoo that’s about 5 minutes + 10 minutes shampooing, if I use a shampoo that has lots of slip. If I’m using a shampoo that doesn’t have slip , or don’t prepoo, it can easily take 20 -30 minutes to shampoo because I have to navigate around the knots. Normally it only takes me 10minutes so all in all it only takes me about 1 hour for my whole wash routine 🤗 hope that answers your question!
i love the raking method, it makes my hair curl and defined with gel and curl cream in.
It’s a great way to apply product and the curls pop! People 😴 on the taking method 😂
