Cool! So I have an assembly on a Kayak and I thought the M3's might be a little weak if my cockpit filled w/ water at ~8 lbs / Gal in a swimming situation w/ current I might be pulling a Kayak w/ 800 lbs of water to me or well ... lol more of me to it at that point. So I want to be sure the Lifting eyes and threads of an M3 have a awsome pullout strength ya know when I grab the Perimeter lines. Most are clamshell plastic w/ sharp edges . . . hummm! I think I'm going to have 7 fore and aft and 2-3 would see the force. What do I test it in ? A larger thread means a larger eyelet and greater chance of snagging my gear when I pull myself f/ the water back up on deck. In a self rescue situation. M3s put the height at 1/2" above deck that good next size up is M4 at 0.75 in. above deck. 304 SS. Thanks! Great fun!

There is no way to complete a stress test analysis in OnShape with the vanilla package. Stress tests can be done, but the packages are costly. Good luck with it!

    Hi,
Thanks for tutorial... to make 3d printables, do we nedd to set the "offset" option when we substract ? And, if so, which offset value ? Regards.

I scale down the print in the slicer by 5% in the xy direction. Prints beautifully.

@@LearnItDoItMakeIt Thank you very much. I've tested, when i substract (boolean) i chosse an offset to 0.1mm it's also perfect. Regards

I think you needed to press that reverse direction button?

Nice catch. Didn't even think about looking for that. I'll see if I can add an annotation card for that edit.

Make a spring extend and compress animation

Only can do rigid bodies on OnShape without a paid extension.

If I print this will it work like a screw

It should, but the resolution of your print may cause some issues. Lower thread count and higher resolution prints would be more successful.

Day 15 ends without a chamfer on the end of the bolt, with a comment that it will be done in a future video. I can't find that later video.

I'm not sure if I did. It was a triangle sketch with revolve. You cannot chamfer the edge once threads have been added.

@@LearnItDoItMakeIt Aha! I had tried the chamfer and.. yeah, not so good. I'll try the revolve.
Meanwhile, _this_ lesson is still totally doable without the nice-looking bolt. Thanks! :-)
