The new position for stylus could be that there was magnetic interference from the charging with the periscope camera?! I see that the camera module is quite lower then usual and close to the old position of the stylus module.

I upgraded from the Note 9, which I loved, but the fingerprint scanner was failing and battery life wasn't as great as it used to be. I bought the Note 20 Ultra in the Mystic Bronze to match my Galaxy S3 watch. I bought it because I'm a photographer by trade and having the compact equivalent of a DSLR in my pocket is super cool to me.
Named Note 20 because:
1. There is a 20% gap in performance and battery life between the Exynos 990 vs. the Snapdragon 865+ variants
2. It costs about 20% more than last year's model.
Note 20 series was fittingly named based on its performance variation and pricing strategy!

That back glass disassembly tool looks awesome! I would love to get one of those for work! It would make disassembling the devices I repair on a daily basis super easy! I get at least 1 or 2 Samsung's a day on average. I do have my personal toolkit from you guys I bought about 2 to 3 months ago. It's the Pro Tool Kit. I use the Pro Tool Kit at work, which is provided by the company I work for, so I bought one for myself! It's amazing! I'm looking forward to doing a Note 20 repair! 😁Keep it up guys!

I work here so forgive my obvious bias, but: It's easy to forget everything you know when the camera starts rolling. I've been tearing down and fixing electronics for nearly two decades, and almost every time I make a stupid mistake or break something nowadays, it's because I was trying to do it for the camera. Tearing down a phone at your private workbench is easy. Doing the same while trying to keep it in focus, and in frame, and properly lit, and keeping your hands/head out of the way, while describing what you're doing, and remembering to look at the other camera, and smile, and keep the banter going with your co-host, and keep an eye on comments, can be crazy hard. The cognitive load is ... high. Anybody who does all that is either a natural born entertainer or is just extraordinarily brave. Which is why I personally don't do livestreams. TL;DR: Enjoy the livestream and don't take it too seriously-we have immaculate, detailed, step-by-step guides to follow when the time comes to do this yourself, and yes, we'll remember to remove the SIM tray.

I got my note 20 ultra 512 storage yesterday and I'm upgrading from my note 8. I have always bought the Note phones and my note 8 was giving me problems. I am excited for everything on the phone I love it, in fact I'm typing this on my 20 now. I wish I could have the bronze but they only make the black in my storage size. Not bored at all you guys are great, thanks.
25:37 maybe something to do with the buttons..seems that the S-pen and buttons can't be on the same side.
Note 10 has got buttons on left, so there's plenty of space on the right for s-pen.
I am thinking the buttons, as well as the height between the bottom of the camera setup compared to the 10 series. That height difference is pretty noticeable as well. Saw someone else mention that since there isn't much space between the two that it could also possibly cause interference.
because of the year is 2020 with (or) probably Samsung wants to continue their high-end devices in specific series like note 10 and note 20 or 10,20....like maybe the future plan is note 30,30 with high performance and price and the remaining 11,21 31,51 series are average level devices continue in their range...

Since I got my iFixit Professional kit, I literally never went back to a repair service. I use it for any device and used this video to repair my Note 20 Ultra too.

I upgraded from Note 9 to this phone because it has 5 to 10x optical zoom, has 5G, and it can accept 45W super fast charger.
The rest are almost similar. Unfortunately Samsung removed oxygen saturation sensor, and iris scanner.

Also they switched the s-pen because they wanted to switch the power and volume keys back to the right side as people were not happy with the left side power and volume keys on the note10+. There isnt enough space for both the s pen, power and volume key on the same side.

hi guys. is that galaxy note 20 ultra has the same material as the regular galaxy note 20? here in Philippines, both have the same material when I checked it on their concept store. I am quite confused because on most of the videos I see online, it says, the ultra has a glass back
Well, I think Samsung time machine is not working on battery. They even don't have battery pull tab to enable easier and safe battery removal.
I totally agree with the plastic back, right on Taylor.
To make it more easier for the people that its comparable with S20 series, which is always brought in parallel, e.g. Note 10 = S10, Note 10* = S10+, Note 20 = S20, thats it... Nothing more.
And, I am upgrading or switching my Phone from Oneplus 7 Pro to Samsung Note 20 Ultra for Wireless Dex & S Pen, Size, Design, RAM, extra Storage, etc. Since (back in) 2012 I was using Note Series and switched to Oneplus in 2015 and, now I am back again for Samsung Note, and I am happy.
It's obvious they put the s pen on the left side because the periscope camera has magnets in it and it would mess up the magnets
I agree with Taylor about the plastic backs. I know it would feel less premium, but I prefer the practicality. Or maybe give us sapphire hardness? Or would that just be too expensive? I heard they have to grow them. Or best of both worlds, plastic backs but sapphire fronts.
Samsung should go with easy to remove batteries using pull tabs!
As far as the graphite cooling vs copper VC, you should want the graphite rather than the copper VC. Why? It disperses the heat just as well if not better than the VC and also VCs are very delicate. It's easy to damage and malfunction and also can swell if your phone overheats. Due to this reason Samsung started replacing the VC to the graphite cooling pads. They didn't announce the issues with the copper VCs because it would make them look bad for marketing the hell out of it few years ago.
So, to everyone worried about the graphite cooling system in your note, don't be worried. This form of cooling beat out the Copper VC system in testing and is why Samsung is starting to replace the copper VC. It's more cost effective, less prone to damages hence making the cooling ineffective, and it keeps the board cooler than VC. If you feel heat coming off the back of your phone, it's doing its job of dispersing the heat outwards. So, it's a good thing. Last thing you want is a semi-warm phone on the outside that's overheating on the inside

Where is the nfc chip located. Tried using samsung pay and I can't figure out the exact point to put the phone on the reader
Interesting thing of note (pun intended) is that this is the first Samsung phone to have a dedicated speaker enclosure purpose built for the top speaker/earpiece. As you can see from the small vent hole and the circular blue sticker over it. You can also clearly see it is a single enclosure when he removes it (18:20). This must contribute to the better balance of the two speakers and the overall warmer sound and less internal vibrations... Neat...
They sent the vanilla note to a few creators. I watched two review videos last week.
My finger print sensor stopped working, and I took it to samsung care. they are saying that I will have to replace the whole display. Is it right? I mean can we not just replace fingerprint sensor module in case it gets faulty?

Samsung didn't intentionally put the number 20 to this year's Note series.
It was a typing mistake untill someone noticed but by the time it was too late as the leaks had already begun 🙌🏻

My note 20 ultra got run over, pretty bad but mother board looks intact. Question the memory has all my children photos yes forgot to back up. can the memory be saves ? if i get a phone to replace memory
Answer: As they are releasing 2 flagship devices each year, and nowadays it is easier to remember device modesl with year than numbers like 1..2..3..4 etc, so and as current year is 2020 (popular number with round figure) it was perfect time to start 20 number on phone models. So they started s20 then now note 20.
With this method... Years and model number s sync with each other and it is easy to remember and keep track.

Hey I can tell you every repair tech forgets these. Unless you repair them regularly, it's a common thing to forget. You don't have to remove for most iPhone repairs

That's the US version of Note 20 Ultra, since it has the 5G mmWave antenna.
It doesn't look like much has changed between the Note 10+ 5G, and the Note 20 as far as the Sub PBA, Main PBA and the mid frame assembly go. The 600mm wave antennas look like they are in the same spot as well.

I have a Note 9 and I'm upgrading to the Note 20 ultra. Better battery, bigger screen and better camera and i get to keep my s pen. It sucks that the 512gb only seems to come in black, my current note is the 512gb model and I'm using at least 250+gb rn with all my photos and games. So black is my only color option this year. I suppose it won't matter when it spends its life inside a case.
Is the screen irreplaceable
Well I believe Samsung try to show the advancement in technology by skipping the numbers and jump to the 20 series, this reflects the logarithmic advancement on the scale of the electronic components for example, so I will say they are optimistic....
They just wanted to better align with the year as its 2020
Atleast one company knows hows to deal with the TEENS.. (thats why they got rid of 11 to 19 altogether)
Samsung took the opportunity to boost the number by increasing the first number instead of the counting number. So basically making the Note10 a 1.0 so jump to the 2.0. Kind of a Galaxy Dieharder attempt in phones.

I believe they put the s pen on the left, because of the camera array. The telephoto camera they sacraficed that space to move the s pen on the other side. This will be the last note. The last user based note is the note 9. Everything else will be just like apple unfortunately.
Can you please check if the s-pen from note 20 ultra works with note 10 plus, I mean if it works full functions, including the low latency. I know from other articles that note 10 plus s-pen work on note 20 ultra. So if the s-pen is fully backward compatible, it could be considered as a little upgrade for Note 10 Plus, having reduced latency? Just a thought
I think they switched the spend is becoz of the camera system. The telephoto camera have some copper wiring for magnetic field and the s-pen has it too.. it think if they stacked it near each other they will intervene the system.

May I ask which version this note20 ultra is? Is it exynos or snapdragon? and where is mmWave antenna ?
probably that's the SD version, since it's a US model, and it has 2 mmWave antenna on sides.
Given the fact the year is 2020 I think that's why. I also think that if they released it as "Note 11" some customers would think they're behind Apple in terms of innovation as Apple released their 11 numbered models last year. They would think that the numbering is similar to something like the version of Bluetooth you have

Yes! Only Snapdragon unit has the graphite, for US & South Korean unit, including Zack's (Jerry Rig) South Korean unit.
Exynos unit has the copper one.

The camera module might be too big to be able to accommodate the pen on the same side. We didn't have this 4 camera setup until this year.
so guys what do you do with those devices you would have opened l wouldn't mind having one for keeps when you done with them. love your tear drops always with true details and on point keep it up guys

They skipped all the numbers to make it so the phones were named after the year they came out : ie note 20 year 2020 next year 2021 and samsung new phone will be the S and note 21 also you put too much thought in the move of the pen it clearly interferes with the camera model I noticed it in the side shot
Hi I had a question regarding the backplate of this phone. I recently cracked my backplate and ordered a replacement. I noticed the new backplate does not have these grey stickers that the factory one has. I'm just wondering what they are? do I HAVE to have them? will my phone work if I just transfer the mic and whatever I can salvage off the old backplate? thank you for your help!
I think they went from Note or S 10 to 20 because this year is the the beginning of the Two thousand and twenties (2020’s) and as we all 2020 hasn’t been just any normal year due to COVID making us all potential ninjas with our face fasks.. Lol
