I am thinking the same things. Maybe the owner of manor conducting a human experiment that turn them into monster or maybe some summoning spell thats why hastur and dream witch is in the manor. ( sorry for my bad english)

Hey guys, i have a different theory, because I think this is a bit more deeper than we think. We can see that his sister IS actually the wax artist, but she didn't know her art was used to do something like his brother's work of physiognomy. To me, it looks like she discoverd it when he became famous abroad. She realized that her beautiful work was only used to spread pseudoscientific racist mentality (racist, but most of all, unfair, because a person appearance and their actions are obviously not related) She knew about how the "evil was imprisoned in wax" and, seeing herself as evil (because of how her work was used by his brother), she imprisoned herself in wax, killing herself. I guess she would have wanted to make his brother realize how wrong his own actions was by doing it, maybe pushing him either to stop everything or to follow her in death, but he only fell in a deeper madness. Actually, now the two of them are "imprisoned in wax", because both of them were evil, one consciously, and the other one innocently. The "this time, let's do this together !" imply how they're both forever linked by destiny and by the evil. He will, once again, bring her knowless and innocent (dead) sister to do horrific things with him. They became, together, the beast.

I like to think that the criminals that were arrested thanks to Phillip some how broke out of jail and killed his sister in an act of revenge. They poured hot wax over her and made it look like suicide. But little did they suspect, the sister's soul became infused with the wax, turning her into a literal wax woman. The sister told Phillip the truth behind her death and together, they became the Wax Artist to exact vengeance on her killers.
If I had a nickels for every person called Phillip who turned into a murderous statue due to the death of a loved one in a Korean game, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange something like that would happen twice.
⚠️TW: VIOLENCE, BAD ENGLISH! ⚠️ So if anyone was wondering, this is his story: Philippe and his sister were two famous wax artists. They were making statues together and they were pretty famous. However, Philippe had another hobby besides creating wax sculptures: studying Physiognomy, so a no-scientific study based on the possibility of a person being a criminal based on their facial features. His research became famous and he started traveling around the world explaining people everything he learned. However, this created many misunderstanding and people started killing each other (I mean when they saw someone with a “criminal” facial feature). So everyone thought it was Philippe’s fault. They wanted to get their revenge and so they broke into his house, but they only found his sister Christine, and since they knew she was really precious to Philippe, they took her and drowned her in a boiling wax tub. When he finally got home, he found the scene. Apparently nothing happened: Phillippe “got over his sister’s death” and started teaching to his apprentices. However, after his loss his statues became to be… as beautiful as weird. Lots of people found them scary as they looked like “they were catching the moment of someone’s death”. He was arrested a few times for this reason, but never charged for anything. Nobody knew how Phillip was creating those sculptures, as he was always making them at night. At a certain point, the crime rate of his city increased, since a lot of people started disappearing. The mayor of the city closed all the “night locals”, as they were too dangerous. With the time passing, the criminal rate decreased, so the mayor decided to make a huge ball so that the city could celebrate. The party makers ordered 30 wax statues in Greek mythology style from Philippe to expose them to the ball: Although he only should’ve made 30, Phillipe made 60 statues. During the ball everyone was admiring the sculptures, as they were comparing their height to them’s. At a certain point, when everyone was drunk, an apprentice of Phillipe started wondering a lot about the statues, as he was under alcohol effect. He broke into Philippe’s dark workshop and he fainted. He was awaken by some steps. He was hiding in the dark, so when Philippe and a very drunk man entered in the room, they didn’t notice him. He started wondering why Philippe was carrying a drunk man into the workshop. However what his teacher was he about to do was something shocking. As Philippe made the man lay onto a table, he started heating some wax. When it was boiling he took the pot and started pouring the wax onto the man’s chest. He was still alive, so he started screaming from the burns, and so Philippe poured the wax into his mouth as well. Right after some moments, the wax became solid, and the man’s corpse was now a beautiful wax sculpture. The apprentice was frightened, but he kept his mouth shut. Philippe then inserted some tubes into the statue, as he suck all the blood away replacing it with pink wax. The apprentice ran away while screaming (Phillipe noticed him, but it was too late to caught him) and broke into the ball’s room. However, everyone was dunk, and everyone was admiring the statues… so one on them, under a strong alcohol effect, decided to set fire to them so that they could became big candles. Everyone followed him. A few minutes later the room was filled with a muddy liquid made out of wax, flesh, blood and other liquids. Nobody knew what happened to Philippe, but since his body is covered in burns, he probably died in the fire.

I like to think that the criminals that were arrested thanks to Phillip some how broke out of jail and killed his sister in an act of revenge. They poured hot wax over her and made it look like suicide. But little did they suspect, the sister's soul became infused with the wax, turning her into a literal wax woman. The sister told Phillip the truth behind her death and together, they became the Wax Artist to exact vengeance on her killers.

So if anyone was wondering, this is his story:
Philippe and his sister were two famous wax artists. They were making statues together and they were pretty famous. However, Philippe had another hobby besides creating wax sculptures: studying Physiognomy, so a no-scientific study based on the possibility of a person being a criminal based on their facial features. His research became famous and he started traveling around the world explaining people everything he learned. However, this created many misunderstanding and people started killing each other (I mean when they saw someone with a “criminal” facial feature). So everyone thought it was Philippe’s fault. They wanted to get their revenge and so they broke into his house, but they only found his sister Christine, and since they knew she was really precious to Philippe, they took her and drowned her in a boiling wax tub. When he finally got home, he found the scene.
Apparently nothing happened: Phillippe “got over his sister’s death” and started teaching to his apprentices. However, after his loss his statues became to be… as beautiful as weird. Lots of people found them scary as they looked like “they were catching the moment of someone’s death”. He was arrested a few times for this reason, but never charged for anything.
Nobody knew how Phillip was creating those sculptures, as he was always making them at night. At a certain point, the crime rate of his city increased, since a lot of people started disappearing. The mayor of the city closed all the “night locals”, as they were too dangerous. With the time passing, the criminal rate decreased, so the mayor decided to make a huge ball so that the city could celebrate. The party makers ordered 30 wax statues in Greek mythology style from Philippe to expose them to the ball: Although he only should’ve made 30, Phillipe made 60 statues. During the ball everyone was admiring the sculptures, as they were comparing their height to them’s. At a certain point, when everyone was drunk, an apprentice of Phillipe started wondering a lot about the statues, as he was under alcohol effect. He broke into Philippe’s dark workshop and he fainted. He was awaken by some steps. He was hiding in the dark, so when Philippe and a very drunk man entered in the room, they didn’t notice him.
He started wondering why Philippe was carrying a drunk man into the workshop. However what his teacher was he about to do was something shocking.
As Philippe made the man lay onto a table, he started heating some wax. When it was boiling he took the pot and started pouring the wax onto the man’s chest. He was still alive, so he started screaming from the burns, and so Philippe poured the wax into his mouth as well. Right after some moments, the wax became solid, and the man’s corpse was now a beautiful wax sculpture.
The apprentice was frightened, but he kept his mouth shut. Philippe then inserted some tubes into the statue, as he suck all the blood away replacing it with pink wax. The apprentice ran away while screaming (Phillipe noticed him, but it was too late to caught him) and broke into the ball’s room. However, everyone was dunk, and everyone was admiring the statues… so one on them, under a strong alcohol effect, decided to set fire to them so that they could became big candles. Everyone followed him.
A few minutes later the room was filled with a muddy liquid made out of wax, flesh, blood and other liquids.
Nobody knew what happened to Philippe, but since his body is covered in burns, he probably died in the fire.
