Good review. I've had two of these over the years. The old style that got destroyed sadly, and one I bought a year or two ago. I love mine and it goes on every camping trip with us. It even has a hook in the camper to hang on. It doesn't sound like my big Martin dreadnought, but it not supposed to. Sitting around camp it is fantastic, and I'll be keeping mine!

Thank you. They are sweet travel guitars. They project some good tone for it's size and shape.

Thank you 🙏🏻 yes they do. It really helps for those quick jams! 🎶
I was thinking of installing a pickup to it and turning it into an electric acoustic, but not sure just yet! 🤔🎸

I checked with a music store and they said that I could use light strings because I use the Martin’s Silk and Steel string which are .11-.47 and the extra light strings are .10-.47, waiting for Black Friday Sales before buying. I plan on using it to improve my finger movement on the fretboard. Oh great video.

I remember that on the older models you could choose between a left-handed and a right-handed guitar.

Reminds me of the washburn rover guitar

I like this guitar, aside from the treble banjo tone. Do you know if there is an option for classical nylon guitar strings?

A little behind… but using Martins silk & steel strings are supposedly a good pairing with this guitar and it warms up that tinny, banjo sound. There’s a review of the sound comparison on YT if you look up silk and steel Martin backpacker

Great video. I just picked up one of these a few days ago along with a Mahogany Taylor GS mini as my first guitars. I love them both and switch off between them. One quick question you mentioned the Compadre stabilizer attachment, but I have previously searched all over the internet for one but can't find any sites that sell them including Amazon and eBay. I know that they have been around for at least 10 years but I think they stopped producing and selling them. Do you know where they are sold?

Hello @GuitarManHero, glad to hear you have both, they are awesome travel guitars. I have a baby Taylor I'm still trying to restore/repair. I might make a video on that soon. By the way, the compadre I believe was sold by kraftBoy. He seem to still have an active FB account. Unfortunately his website is no longer available. Hopefully he responds back.
