As someone who's never played Trackmania, the Snow Car looks like it feels like driving a toy car. Like, seeing it drive, it doesn't look like it has any weight. The Rally Car looks slightly heavier, but compared to the Stadium Car they both look kind of jarring.
I agree, I feel like Rally car looks like it does pretty much the same things as Snow car to less extremely, possibly making it more fun to play. But I haven't played so that is just speculation.
thats exactly how they feel to drive as well. the slow timing-based physics of the stadium car drew me to the game, and the twitchy action key physics of the new cars are pushing me away

It just doesn't feel good to drive the snow car or rally car. Rally car is slightly better but only marginally. Also, going back to stadium car after driving either rally/snow just feels like steering an oil tanker. Unfortunately seems like poor execution on a cool idea.

As someone who doesn't play trackmainia ill make this outside observation of the snow and rally cars:
I feel like they're being significantly hurt by the lack of custom skins. Something kinda feels off seeing just a flat blue car instead of wirtuals skin.
I know personally if i was playing one of the racing games i play and was given the choice between a car that could only be painted in a flat colour or one where i can put a custom livery i will almost always go for the latter. Having a custom livery makes the car feel more me and generally just looks way better usually.

As someone who has never played Trackmania, but has been a fan of yours for at least a year, I'd had to say that the snow car is a really niche and that the stadium car should always be the norm
My opinion on Snow car/Rally car:
Both cars feel much less refined in their implementation than the stadium car, making them feel very janky and awkward to drive. More careful consideration of balancing between input devices and custom skin support would have made these new cars feel like a propper addition rather than a novelty item.
As a short-time Trackmania player, my opinion on the snow car and rally car is they are generally fine. My problem is the constant switching between cars, as well as surfaces. When the driving physics are changing every 2 seconds, or mid-turn, or requiring different action keys, it really makes me feel like going back to TMNF.

About the snow car, I still regularly grind the snow car campaign, plus in the winter campaign, map 20 was by FAR my most played map, I got like top 200 world and I was very proud.

I started watching your videos 3 or 4 years ago, but never played Trackmania, i enjoy watching you play and your commentary, it is quite enjoyable.
As a person who has played Trackmania probably once, for some reason this content has really captivated me over the last few weeks.
Earned a new sub even though I don't even play this game, the content is funny and the community also seems hilarious.
I have been playing Trackmania casually on and off since TM-Turbo and i like the snowcar actually more then the rally car, the snowcar campain was a real banger which i didnt really feel with the rally campain.

as a long time trackmania player, I think the Hylis' personal love for the snow car blinded his judment for the decision to make it EXACLTY like the 2003 gameplay. if you name your game after the year it came out "2020", you should not be copy-pasting 20 year old gameplay.

My opinion on the snow car as someone who plays the game for over a year that its good, but rarely used well. There was that one Troll Cup Of The Day which was a pleasant drive though the woods, IT promoted control and precision over speed, this game can be fun without rushing everywhere.
Part of that percentage to never have touched TM, but avidly watches your uploads, here o/

I've seen people on your channel saying that Snow and Rally are too similar, but having really tried playing and improving with both, they drive quite differently. They do share the commonality of no-sliding being ideal in most cases, but that is, as you said, the case with many old Trackmania cars.
I'm honestly worried I'm not putting enough work into improving with Stadium since they added these 2 TMO cars 😓
I've been playing on and off for about 15 years going back to Nations Forever. Because of that, stadium car feels most natural since it plays really similar to Nations. My favorite maps are fullspeed or at least mostly fullspeed. Rally car and snow car don't have enough zoom for my liking so I only ever play them on official campaign tracks.
