Thank you for the comment that not all encounters need end in combat. I have had great fun with the party running into a competitive group of NPC adventurers running through the same location. That other party ended up in a near TPK (which allowed a new player to enter into the group)
Great video! Wandering monsters in our game are very seldom truly random. The timing of their appearance might have an element of randomness, but there is a reason for it. Totally agree on the Mimic and Gelatinous Cube being created. Sometimes an encounter is there to add some knowledge, a hint for where the party should go, or sometimes just for comic relief. Sometimes, it's two other groups that fight with each other, or don't really interact with the party, but they show a hint of what the party may have in store it. Keep up the good work!
