Sono rimasto colpito dalla bellezza della voce, dalla dolcezza che sprigionano le figure nella scena, dalla scenografia. Penso che siate riusciti a sublimare il genio di Vivaldi, che ci ha lasciao delle opere di una bellezza scandalosa. Ho passato dei momenti di estasi pura nell'ascoltarvi e nel vedervi. Questa è la parte bella del mondo e del genere umano e mi ci sono impregnato fino all'ultima molecola del mio corpo.

I know from the posters that you recently sang Handel in Moscow together with Yulia Lezhneva. I was her concertmaster when she was at our school. I wanted to get to the concert, but I couldn't. I hope you will come again and I will be to hear you. I wish you all the best and success!
Singing with Julia was a pleasure and honor for me: she’s really an extraordinary and such a nice and gentle person. I sang in Moscow also in July (Polinesso in Ariodante at Bolshoi), and I do hope to come back soon, because it was a great experience. Thanks again for your kind words!

No tiene detalle musical, de ritmo, vocal, interpretativo o escenográfico que no sea bellísimo, perfecto...
Al di là della librettistica, il cantato barocco italiano mi emoziona piu' di quello "tedesco"...come dire: trovo sempre Vivaldi un passo avanti Mozart. Detto questo, abbasso ogni sciovinismo parlando di due geni assoluti

Ci sarebbe un vocabolo che i francesi usano nel linguaggio corrente per definire la calcolata perfidia del personaggio - resa superbamente da un canto vigoroso e affilato come una lama - ma forse tale vocabolo sarebbe frainteso. Se ci si vede a Parigi, Carlo, glielo diro' a tu per tu 🙂🙃😉

Could you explain what exactly did you do with that interesting final trill ? 🤔 would love to know where it was mentioned in treaties too ! Mancini ? Agricola ?
I actually don’t have a specific source for the way I normally do trilli. I always tried to "touch" the two different notes clearly. If I have, let’s say, a reference among modern singers I would say Joan Sutherland.
For XVII Century music I do trilli in a different way of course. 🙂

Too much of the production and all those "sensual things", too much of guttural special effects calculated on stirring the audience's guts, using the art for the artist just to show off what he can make of his voice, nothing else in our shallow times. All the wrong vocal embellishments! No sharing soul here and moving my heart, only vocal tricks!...Sorry...
