Excellent video, NedMedia! The time you put into preparing your subject matter is very obvious in your videos. You do demonstrate a good understanding of the issues involved in the proposed subject and you hone-in on those key elements. In this video, I was impressed with the emphasis you placed on "aesthetics". Never did I think that a Nigerian would understand the importance of aesthetics in the planning and development of infrastructure. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the government is adopting this element in its buildings, but also that you emphasized it during your presentation. Man, you make me proud, every day. Keep up the good work my man. Bless your heart.
Great video - as always :-) My opinion is that one should have shops and other commercial spaces in Murtala Terminal 2, Mobolaji Johnson and the Oshodi bus terminal as fast and as many as possible to make the whole thing profitable, which in turn helps when Amaechi, Fashola or Sanwo-Olu are looking for more financers / investors. I heard that there are nigerian versions of Starbucks and Footlocker: so let them open a shop there and let them pay a hefty rent! It is one of the best locations in Lagos after all! A gold mine! Greetings from Holland
Wow! It's here at last. I had been waiting for this since the Airport was commissioned. You never fail to deliver. Thank you again for another exciting info-journey! Those huge structures are Kilometers away in Ikoyi Lagos and they are private properties. You may be unconsciously giving people the impression that those are part of the airport project being discussed

Maintenance, Maintenance and maintenance please. You know this is the problem in Nigeria. This shinning airport could be like the oid terminal in few years if not properly maintained. I hope the officials will not be asking for bribes in this new terminal.
As lively and informative as this was. Please take caution to do and edit the videos correctly. I almost went blind when the pictures were being blurred and it occurred multiple times. Thanks and God bless you for this wonderful video
The Government mentioned that it will be either upgraded or a new structure/terminal built there. But it will continue being used for other Airport operations.
Nigeria is well developed middle income economy that is primarily driven by its highly entrepreneurial private sector. It’s public detour is shambolic and corrupt and that’s being kind. If not for the hard work of the private sector and hard nosed business skills of most Nigerians the country would not have seen the level of development it has today. Nigerians are the harshest critics of their country and never seem to see anything good or have anything positive to say about their country but if you’ve been to neighbouring countries in Africa you will realise that Nigeria is the continent’s true economic powerhouse. It is a black country run by black people for black people as a result not many people like the fact that it is still standing and competing economically with the white run economy of South Africa or the Arab run economy of Egypt. It is an anomaly to many non Africans because they automatically see only South Africa as the place worth considering. But Nigeria despite its colonial mentality is still a Black Country for Black people that has a certain degree of self assuredness and self belief in itself that it is equal to anyone or country and can achieve whatever it wants to achieve regardless of others doubts. It helped that Nigeria wasn’t colonised in the same way that the rest of Africa was colonised, it was practically all but a dominion of the British crown in name. It had only 46 years of colonial rule if we count out Lagos which was under British rule for a century and during those 46 years it functioned as a proper country with indirect rule from the British although they still controlled everything. But that allowed countries like Nigeria and Ghana to be portrayed as proper model African nations while Southern and East Africa and Francophone, Belgian and Lusophone Africa were brutally and harsh settler colonies and fiefdoms ruled their foreign overlords whose goal was to strip the lands off their resources or seize the land from its indigenous owners for Queen and country. Fortunately Nigerians did not have to go through that mess as foreigners were forbidden to settle there by the British crown and if you wanted to do business there you had to post a bond of £2,000 which was quite significant at the time. So the people of Nigeria may have less awareness of the damage caused by colonial rule because of the benign and soft nature of British rule in Nigeria and as such may view their colonisation more as a right of passage to modernity and not the oppressive land and resource grabbing experiences suffered by the majority of Africa.visor they have a huge degree of self confidence as a nation state.
Wow ..That was a lecture...... I truly learnt something today. I now know where their confident came from.... am so grateful for your lecture. God bless your heart. Shalom.
I always said that South African is lucky to still have white colonizers in their country in regards to development. The only reason South African is somewhat relevant in Africa is because of the white people there. Nigeria is purely blacks making things happens.
We need a new terminal for expansion and growth in passenger numbers. Hopefully, this will also allow for upgrades to be implemented in the old terminal, in order that we can bring it in-line with the new one!
They can build, but lacks maintenance due to massive corruption. Nigeria has the potential to be one of the best countries in the world, but the mindsets of going to politics to enrich themselves needs to stop and people should held accountable with their crimes when it comes to stealing public funds. I believe death sentences should be the best option for any corrupt officials including past leaders. This is the only way corruption can be eradicated in the country.
Thank God we now have an airport that rivals Kotoka airport in Accra. Amazing content Ned Media. Looking forward to more information about developments happening in Lagos/Nigeria.👍👍👍
Before this new terminal in Lagos, Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport has been in service, and it's a far superior facility to the over-hyped thing you call kotoka airport. And to be clear, there can be no rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana. For obvious reasons. If you know, you know.

Seeing as the sad little individual made a patently ignorant statement, I could not help but set the record straight, hence had to mention our little Ghana. And if you were not such an obsessed weirdo, you would not be here on a Nigerian video focusing on the inauguration of a new facility in an airport in Nigeria to spout your insecure drivel. And just to let you know, there is nothing that says a busy airport terminal cannot incorporate elements of what you call 'shopping mall'. If you were not so limited in your knowledge of the world, you would know that modern airport terminals around the world are now being designed and built with multi-purpose functions in mind. Modern airport terminal designs are getting rid of spaces normally reserved for offices with greater focus now on retail and recreational spaces. The new terminal in Manchester International airport is an example. I could cite other examples for you. So yes, we in Nigeria, as a business savvy people, we welcome that. Wow I will give it to Lady Stellar Odua, for her visionary in this Project despite objections and short stay she saw it through, I wonder what the ministers have been doing for the past 30yrs and are still doing with this crazy AirNig thing. You need a hub not just plains to be a major carrier see Ethiopian air for example. Finally this Airport still does not make sense without a train line to Lekki and Surulere 🏟️ stadium. That is through integration. If you want to host tornaments the competitors will not want to be stuck in Lagos traffic for 5hrs. How can it take 10hrs from Ikeja to Ibeju and back. You can try it see someone off to The Airport going to Spain the person will reach Spain before you get to Dangote lagos refinary. That's crazy.
Like Dre Omega opined, this particular airport was just recently commissioned, so it couldn't have been ranked; fingers crossed for the next rankings & hopefully, it'll make the list if our anyhowness doesn't come into play at the new airport.
Nice airport but this is only 50% of it. The next 50% to really bring the experience to world class is the composition of staff and management. Bad behaviours I’ve witnessed and heard about of police, customs, staff, management and “other fake workers” at the airport will with immediate effect bring all this good architecture to rubbish. Let’s not forget customer experience. So as I said this is only 50% of the job done. There is a lot to do still.
Fine and I pray they will maintain the terminal, afterall this is not the first time of MM face lift but unfortunately after many years of neglects it turn into something else. I remembered the old car park that will have to climb up and down to the terminal point with ease and comfort in the 80s and 90s and what happened to it it was destroyed a well built, coordinated international airport car park and collecting revenue what destroyed and cause a show of disgust and anger how we waste resources and manpower in this nation. They will not maintain it
Are we talking about same New Airport Terminal that was falling apart and in shambles due to sub-standard construction materials?
Yeye and corrupt govt officials..!
