The story about your bag is so funny because a few years ago I visited Yosemity National Park with my girlfriend and we also experienced a near desaster: We drove on a dirt road and stopped at a little creek in the middle of nowhere to swim. When we got back to the car, I realized that I must have left the key to the rental car in my swimming trunks and that it had probably fallen out while I was swimming. There was no phone service and almost all of our things were in the locked car. We panicked and of course searched in the water, although I didn't hold out much hope because I thought the key had surely been washed away. However, my girlfriend kept her nerve and actually found it. The relief was intense😅
What a great vlog! I was in Yosemite once. It is astounding. I was also so so happy you got your stuff back. Most people are good! We even got stuff back that we left in a cab in NYC! The cab driver brought it to us ($1000 worth of cameras, etc.) and wouldn't take a reward! Anyway - another great one! Laura is the best!
05:01 That´s when I realized why you chose the John Williams style music👍 Jurassic Park is calling! These are the small things making your videos so special!
I don't think so, because you would probably have a note on it with "it's not allowed to leave your luggage unattended! This is not allowed" or something similar. 😊
Brilliant! My wife and I, and also my mother-in-law (the latter had never been to the States), did this and some more in 1997, renting a motorhome in Oakland after visiting San Francisco (greatest city in the States) and then touring the national parks and other places (correct the order if I'm wrong): Sequoia, Yosemite, Mono Lake (we ran into some people from "our" Hamburg office of the company we worked for, not knowing they would be there!), Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Arches...I'm not sure this list is complete. What we did was leave out Las Vegas on purpose, as a symbol of what we most dislike about the U.S. Instead we went past there 100 miles or so north of it, stopped alongside the highway, with absolutely NO traffic, and failed to hear any sound when we got out of the motorhome. At the end of that day, we celebrated my mother-in-law's 67th birthday in some forgotten Nevada desert town, and really had a blast, as for the rest of that trip.
Just a compliment. I really think your videos are top notch and I look forward to all new episodes. I saw your movie “ Unicorn Town” and I thought it was top notch.
There are several entries to Yosemite - the one you choose (I believe) is the perfect one in my mind, coming in via Tioga Pass. Breathtaking, mindboggling. It was 24 years ago, but the images in my mind have not faded. I was very shocked about gas being $ 7 per gallon.
German Girl here 🙂, originally from The Länd, now living in NRW. We have been to Mono Lake and Yosemite (and a road Trip through the south west of the USA) just 1 month ago and it was breath taking. One of my favorite Nationalparks we have seen 😍
Great Post ! In the early 90's we used to camp at Yosemite for a week with our 2 kids (about 18 & 9). We loved it. The placed you showed looked very familiar.
When I drove from Chicago to Alaska in 1993, I stopped at Waterton National Park (Canada) and left the light meter for my film camera on the ground. I forgot to collect it when I packed up and left. It was about an hour later that I realized it was missing. I drove back, and search through the grass where I had setup my tripod earlier, and nothing. It wasn't there. As I walked back to my car, I saw it sitting on top of the garbage can at the scenic overlook. Someone saw it, picked it up, and placed it there. There are good people in national parks. Something I've done with my digital camera... I printed out my name, email address, and mobile phone number on a piece of paper, and then photographed it using the camera. I protected the image so I can't inadvertently delete it. But if someone finds the camera, they can scroll through the photos on the card, and see my name and contact info. Of course, a thief wouldn't care, but if I accidentally left it like you did, and a good Samaritan found it, they would know how to contact me. I also have a luggage tag with my contact info on the outside of my camera bag. Great video.
Me in my Yosemite hat. I enjoyed Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland, which is longer than Yosemite valley but cultivated and tamed. For those traveling to the park, I recommend the Month of May. Always in the middle of the week and not near Memorial Day. The waterfalls are roaring, the flowers are in bloom and the temperature is just right. FYI. There is often a guy with telescopes in El Cap meadow so you can watch the climbers. At night look for the light of their headlamps as they settle in for the night. Look on Half Dome and other places like the arches where you can sometimes see the climbers.
Hi Laura and Nick, we were there 1980 and it was not so crowded, but to see the US and Canada in a RV is absolut the best way. We had the best times on tiny national park campgrounds with only a small amount of service. You went out of your door and a bald eagle glides two metres above you, or a otter is swimming just a few metres away. Greetings from Hamburg🌄
4:07 During our roadtrip in May we always looked for this stickers and found them nearly in every place. Even in the middle of nowhere of the Death Valley NP 🙂
I cannot believe we were in Reno at about the same time! I did not see much of downtown though. I stayed with friends and we spent most of our time up at Tahoe. Not as mighty as Yosemite, but very nice as well. 😊
Really nice cosy camper van. A bit weird from outside because of the long nose. I put Apple airtags in all my bags to track them. As you can see also Americans can be honest and bring lost property bear-safe in safety.
My wife and I visited the Mariposa sequoias and went from there to Yosemite it was close to sunset and our first view was from high elevation. The color on the half dome and other formations was breathtaking.... truly....we were stunned. We had come from LA where our daughter lives. Our caveat when we visit her in LA is to get the hell out of there and see something nice. We hate LA, but it has been a good jumping off spot for Death Valley, Mammoth Mt. skiing, La Jolla, Monterrey/Carmel and the redwoods.
Yosemite is even more beautiful in Winter. Hardly any tourists (except Japanese, for some reason). Snow on Half Dome. Skiing at Badger Pass. New Year’s Eve at the Ahwahnee. Go back then if you can.
i may have to go back some day. my last trip to yosemite dates back 30 years. Still looks the same though. maybe this time i won't get kicked out for sleeping in the back of the station wagon in a parking lot.
America the Beautiful..
Great footage … nice girlfriend … sort of nice guy 😬 Thanks for this great vlog. Reminded me of our visit to the Yosemite a couple of years ago, without a RV though. Greetings from Germany! 🙋🏼♂️🙋🏼♀️🦮🦮
First thing I thought was that it probably is in the bear locker. That's where it should go. I would say it doesn't matter which country your in, people that steal usually don't hang out on hiking paths.
Many thanks for your footage. I've been there decades ago. Still remember the squirrels at the tunnel view??? Junkies. Seems that you deserved to be so lucky. Well, could happen in Germany too, not decades ago for sure. Had similar experience with loosing my vallet with lots of cards(driving license, credit cards, Identity card...) at Changi and somebody took it to the lost and found counter. They called me a lucky person afterwards. Btw, I like the camper van. Which brand, which engine was it ? do you take Laura also to the grand canyon ? Unfortunately they dont offer anymore diving with the heli into the canyon. It still left in my brain, sitting in front of the heli, seeing the wide area up to the Rocky Mountains and the music cheriots of fire from Vangalis started and just secs later, the heli dived into the canyon. Unforgettable experience and the face of the pilot when I asked for a second dive, but this time hanging outside under the heli itself to get the full adrenalin shot. 😀CU
The bag: You will find honest people all over the world - don't judge and don't be fooled by any reputation any country may have, it only depandands on THE people
Great feature on Yosemite (Did you see Sam there?), maybe someday I will go there and Yellowstone too. Great thinking by Laura to check bear locker, you have a great travel partner there who compliments you in many ways.
slightly disappointed that you guys did not get hitched in Reno :-). and surprised that you were shocked about the gas price since you surely have gotten used to that in Germany were we pay that amount year round :-). cheers from RLP!
This video inspired me to order me some (FREE!) Nett hier! Stickers. But while I am a proud inhabitant of this beautiful 'Länd', I will still definitely only put them up in the dirtiest, ugliest, stinkiest places I encounter on this planet because that's so much funnier. Probably mostly in Bayern, I suppose...
Note to NALF: leave your contact info in your camera bag. Most good people would at least try to get in touch with you. Glad someone had the forethought to put it away safely.
And how much tax has to be added upon that? Ya know European prices are what the customer's gotta pay, while US "prices" are are what the vendor's gonna keep, not what he will demand.
Nett hier, aber waren Sie schon mal in Baden-Württemberg? It was wise of you to mention that the stickers were already there, otherwise this place would have been flooded with south-western germans sticking stickers everywhere.

Thanks for taking us along and that sweet girl of yours deserves a kiss. ❤
You guys are easily the cutest couple I‘ve ever seen. ♥️
What a great vlog! I was in Yosemite once. It is astounding. I was also so so happy you got your stuff back. Most people are good! We even got stuff back that we left in a cab in NYC! Tears of JOY!!! Every now and then, my faith in (American) humanity is restored!
I am so relieved you found that camera bag as i intensly hate losing things.
I am in Yosemite watching this! 🤣🤣🤣 Great video and camping trip.
05:01 That´s when I realized why you chose the John Williams style music👍 Jurassic Park is calling! These are the small things making your videos so special!
Like the music choices. Right on the money.
It was probably some German tourists, who put your equipment in the bear locker...😉
I don't think so, because you would probably have a note on it with "it's not allowed to leave your luggage unattended! This is not allowed" or something similar. 😊
Hilarious!! And also True!!
So true!!!
Laura is your true treasure…not the camera equipment. She always smiling and sweet! Great video!!!
In germany we would call the police and a bombsquad before stealing someones baggage😂
Yosemite, El Capitan and the background music a wonderful version of America the Beautiful … no more words needed … goosebumps alert
Great storytelling as always 👏. And Laura is a gem!
Beautiful scenery. I'm glad you both had a wonderful trip.😊❤

😂 this totally got me.
I really enjoyed your road trip video.
Thank you you two.
I love this stickers😄 This meme is so good.
You found so much more in Germany than you could ever had dreamed of. 😍
Just a compliment. I really think your videos are top notch and I look forward to all new episodes. I saw your movie “ Unicorn Town” and I thought it was top notch.

Great Trip + Pictures! Thx for share ... 😉😉
I was once in the Yosemite park as I visited my brother 20 years ago. It's really fantastic.
And that is whyb you always put your information like phone number in your bags. So that you might be contacted about lost items.
yes, and don't forget to put your address on you key, so the finder or thief knows where to find the lock for the key.
I Love happy endings! The two of you remind me so much of my experiences in the USA/ Germany with my German wife. Greetings from Berlin 🇩🇪🇺🇸Jim

America the beautiful. We're not perfect, but I love my country.

Me and my dad made a roadtrip through the south west of the USA in 1999. I will always remember this trip. It was unforgettable.
4:07 During our roadtrip in May we always looked for this stickers and found them nearly in every place. Even in the middle of nowhere of the Death Valley NP 🙂
You two are a great team.
You are such a great couple ❤❤❤
I worked at the Ahwahnee Hotel the summer of 1984. This video brought back wonderful memories
I cannot believe we were in Reno at about the same time! I did not see much of downtown though. I stayed with friends and we spent most of our time up at Tahoe. Not as mighty as Yosemite, but very nice as well. 😊
I went to Reno, too. Bought some shoes there. 😉
How often will this thumbnail be changed? Yes 😂
Really nice cosy camper van. A bit weird from outside because of the long nose.
I put Apple airtags in all my bags to track them. As you can see also Americans can be honest and bring lost property bear-safe in safety.
Beautiful views, very nice vlog... and you both have very happy faces ;-) enjoy!
Credit to Laura. And my compliments.
I can't belive those stupid "Nett hier..." stickers are everywhere. 😭🤣
Okay, I guess BaWü has had a great idea with them.
Atemraubend, wundervoll... wahnsinn es ist unbeschreiblich. Man muss das selber sehen. Wundevolle Natur, erhaltet das.... lucky Nick.
My wife and I visited the Mariposa sequoias and went from there to Yosemite it was close to sunset and our first view was from high elevation. The color on the half dome and other formations was breathtaking.... truly....we were stunned.

Love your videos! This was incredible!
WOW that was awesome thanks for the Video
I was for the first time in US this year and Yosemite, Sequoia and Grand Canyon are incredible.
Yosemite is even more beautiful in Winter. Hardly any tourists (except Japanese, for some reason). Snow on Half Dome. Skiing at Badger Pass. New Year’s Eve at the Ahwahnee. Go back then if you can.

nice! next level!
Yosemite is great! Stayed there more than 20 years back and loved it!
Seems to be a nice adventure. I am an adventurer in Germany, Bavaria. So I know those trips are unforgettable. Thanks for sharing m8.
Beautiful recap of Yosemite!
So nice! I was there in June, breathtaking beautyful.
America is so beautiful. Thanks for that video
Glaube an die Menschheit restauriert! Das war knapp 😅
If somebody told be you two are brother and sister I would believe it- you look so much alike.
Gotta say, you got some nice landscapes over yonder as well.
Your video editing is getting better and better. Hope to see one day a short movie/ nature documentary, or something like that.
Yosemite is so worth a visit. After Zion, it is my absolute no. 2

I visited Yosemity in the early 90s. Yes, it is still as beautiful as it was.
Great footage … nice girlfriend … sort of nice guy 😬 Thanks for this great vlog. Reminded me of our visit to the Yosemite a couple of years ago, without a RV though. Greetings from Germany! 🙋🏼♂️🙋🏼♀️🦮🦮
Put an Apple AirTag in the lining of your camera bag, so the next time you know exactly where you left the bag!!
First thing I thought was that it probably is in the bear locker. That's where it should go. I would say it doesn't matter which country your in, people that steal usually don't hang out on hiking paths.
and you could always check with park lost and found
Beautiful place, great memories. We always say Yosemighty 😢!
Blind faith in humanity restored! I'm glad you were rewarded and camera equipment was returned!!
That was sweet!
Eh,Reno! I’m sorry you had to go through that place. I lived there for a year before I hightailed it outta there up to North Lake Tahoe.
You have fulfilled a longing wish and are full of happiness. What more could a person want!
Taft Point is on point. Glacier Point is not as good.
Many thanks for your footage. I've been there decades ago. Still remember the squirrels at the tunnel view??? Junkies. Seems that you deserved to be so lucky. Has anyone given any thought to the Nalf's opening phrase? "The following is a true story."
damm, those stickers are everywhere #theländ
The bag: You will find honest people all over the world - don't judge and don't be fooled by any reputation any country may have, it only depandands on THE people
You are very lucky man you got an amazing wife👰
You can't escape the schwäbsche Bäbber.
$7 a gallon is still a little cheaper than Germany (around $2 a liter = $7.57 a gallon)
Great feature on Yosemite (Did you see Sam there?), maybe someday I will go there and Yellowstone too. Great thinking by Laura to check bear locker, you have a great travel partner there who compliments you in many ways.
Rockstar did a great job recreating the landscape in RDR2 but reality looks way more georgous, just stunning.
slightly disappointed that you guys did not get hitched in Reno :-). and surprised that you were shocked about the gas price since you surely have gotten used to that in Germany were we pay that amount year round :-). cheers from RLP!
The Länd 👍🤣🤣🤣

Nice, and great work on the video and edit. 😊
Great Vlog 👍
Dating an outdoorsy gal like you do, she probably wanted to climb to the top of Half Dome
Oh, I don't think I knew Yosemite was pronounced like that. XD Man lernt doch nie aus. Great video!
Was that the eclipse? Also, Dave's Killer Bread is good.
Seven bucks a gallon for gas? Did you feel like you were back in Germany? 😄
Laura is just the sweetest and cutest !

14:13.... the flag on lauras shirt... Basil Mozarella Tomato
I love this place! I love El Capitan! This place looks like Paradise without all these Tourists like me! 🙂
$7.00/Gal is €1.74/l that are European prices.
And how much tax has to be added upon that?
Ya know European prices are what the customer's gotta pay,
while US "prices" are are what the vendor's gonna keep, not what he will demand.
Some tourist areas have more middle and upper middle class Americans and they aren’t desperate to steal everything insight…
0:27 you would not see that anywhere in Europe, or in the rest of the world for that matter.
Nett hier, aber waren Sie schon mal in Baden-Württemberg?
It was wise of you to mention that the stickers were already there, otherwise this place would have been flooded with south-western germans sticking stickers everywhere.
Much too short this video!
