  • KOST 103 jingles being recorded in October 1989. Many jock cuts included. Fun to watch how JAM makes their magic! Jhani Kaye and Tip Landay oversee the session for KOST. Plus there's a great shot of JAM super salesman, Fred Hardy! (We miss you, Fred)

Nice to hear Lance Ballance's name at 4:27! I worked with him in Stockton before Jhani hired him for weekends at KOST in '89. Still friends to this day. He's aged a bit though. He now looks about 25.

I've never heard a tighter and cleaner chord from JAM than at 2:47. It sounds 100 times better if you slow the video's play speed to 0.5. Most times if you hear a singer at half speed, you can hear the intense wobble of the singer's vibrato. But there is absolutely none here! JAM forever!

I couldn't agree more, Jordan. I absolutely love those Major9 chords, and nobody does them better than the Jam vocal group...known as "The Big 7." Judy Parma, Kay Sharpe, Abby Holmes, Chris Kershaw, Bruce Upchurch, Dan Alexander, and Jim Clancy.

If hell existed I would imagine it being like this but they're reading out the names of people getting in to heaven and I would be trapped there unable to speak for all eternity.
Apart from that fascinating video, love radio but you rarely get to see behind the scenes so cheers.

Ok...I can see Kay Sharp next to Judy Parma. Also, I believe the shorter of the men is Brian Beck; though I may be wrong. Despite the negative comments by that guy, Matt...this is wonderful work...just AWESOME! Thanks for posting.

The grumpy bass singer is funny. He only has to sing the last syllable of the jingle!

Aside from Jim Clancy (bass singer), does anyone know the names of the other 6 vocalists singing at this session? They are wonderful! Thank you.

russell jones jam still got it if ya ask me! May be different vocals, some of the same singers, but JW don’t play games when it comes to vocals. Finest talents in the biz!

I can't see all the singers but Jim's son, Greg is there plus the late great Judy Parma & Chris Kershaw.

jinglesbluecat greg, who now leads TM. Loved his pops, Jim was a riot! If i had to pick anybody that are riots, down to earth, and funny guys to hang around with, Jim, Judy, Kay sharpe, Trella Hart, they were the ones to expect a laugh or 2 out of. You can tell in some of the bloopers and outtakes.
