Man I still love the BOSS stuff! I got this IR but didn't have much time to play with it, it sounds really cool!

I didn’t know the GT-1000 has such a cool editor. I’m used to the Helix software which looks very close to this as well. Great sounding result man. Great chug tone, cheers!🤘🤘

      Thanks Ed!
The Boss editor is just OK. It sometimes feels like a puzzle haha. I've used better and easier ones, like the Mooer ge200, which was great. Simple and effective.
Another problem with the GT-1000 is that it takes about 30 seconds to load an impulse response, and you can only load 4 at a time.
I bought this almost 5 years ago, and at the time it was a choice between this and the Helix.
I regret not picking the Helix to be honest 😂👍

@@ChugDealer ouch, loading times of 30 secs per IR and a max of 4 is ridiculous tbh. I have 128 in my Helix which load instantly with no delay whatsoever, and even 128 feels limited at times but it makes me put only the best IRs in there instead of too many random ones. HX Edit is pretty decent software and I also use the Helix Native plugin, which is just the Helix modeller as a plugin. That is handy, because i can swap my presets and even use my tones inside a DAW on my laptop. At the time i was deciding between the Headrush and the Helix mothership, and i have always loved my decision to go for the Helix. After all these many years they still keep adding new models, fx and features through firmware updates. I have rarely had a digital piece of gear with so much continued support and such longevity. It might not be the ‘latest and the greatest’ platform anymore by todays standards, but when i compare it with more recent products i still think the Helix is a keeper for me until the day that it dies. Line6 has really impressed me as a company and their HX product line is top notch. It offers all the tones one could ever dream of. Plus the MIDI and I/O routing capabilities are everything you can hope for. I even use the Helix to control external pedals with MIDI and have them integrared through my stereo FX loop. It acts as a complete hub! Okay enough fanboyism for today lol! BOSS is a great brand too though. I still have a BOSS GT-8 that i still fire up every now and then and still is one damn fine piece despite its age. BOSS is never a bad choice man!

Oh i read wrong… 4 IR’s at a time. I thought there was a limit of 4 IR’s. My bad! I am sure it can load more than the 128 IR limit that the Helix has. I don’t think i would ever need to load more than 4 IR’s at a time for a preset.

@EdBMetal You read it right. There's a limit of only holding 4 IRs in the IR Loader that has to be downloaded separately. Very weird.
For cleans and strange effects, the Boss is great, but for anything hi-gain, it just sounds fake and over processed.
You definitely made the right choice with the Helix 😁👍
Edit - I'm going to double check that I'm right about the IRs. I'm pretty sure I am, and I remember watching other people saying the same thing. 😁

Sorry man, I didn't see your comment a few months ago.
I've compared the GT 1000 with Amp sims before using the same IRs and there is a pretty big difference between them.
The actual "tone" will be similar, but the dynamics (not sure if that's the correct word) between them is different.
I also tried to make a track using an amp sim on the left and the GT 1000 on the right and it didn't work at all.
I think the GT 1000 has a very processed sound, whereas amp sims are a lot closer to the real thing, and I think that's what the problem is when it comes to comparing the IRs.
