If the US Army purchase the 30 mm cannon for all the JLTVs that would add tremendous lethality to the infantry force because it literally would add the fire power of a Bradley.
So every JLTV would be like a Bradley with armor and the 30 mm cannon but only better because it can travel faster and also withstand IED exlosions better. How many 30 mm rounds can it carry?
I don’t think it can carry many rounds, given how small this vehicle is compared to the Bradley. Remember, this is a 30mm cannon as opposed to the regular 12.7mm HMGs, those rounds are way larger than we are used to. I don’t think it would replace the role of the IFV completely but I would say it is a good supplementary piece for the current structure of the armed forces. At least now troops don’t have to worry as much with small-arms fire and land explosives like TM-62s or IEDs.
Considering more fatalities in Desert Shield were caused by MVA's than combat, I hope this thing has design features to protect the crew from that scenario.
This is so bad ass. Thank you Oshkosh for designing this vehicle. It will be so much more lethal and more importantly...protects our soldiers from IED.
It is a little bit lighter vehicle but precise weights for both vehicles vary greatly depending on configuration options. The Marauder is designed as an APC with a larger crew area which may account for some of the greater weight.
Bad ass replacement for the aging hummer, and a 30 mm cannon whew!!
The JLTV is such a much needed upgrade over the humvees.
Dear Santa..
Every Dco in the infantry should have these

it's the Apache's 30mm chaingun.
Anyone know the rate of fire of that 30mm?
jltv is like the rg-31 that Spain is using to replace BMR?

U.S military bought 55.000 of those right? That's a lot of vehicles!
Active Protection ?
one variant, the one with the frankestein turret with laser guided launcher, lmg, and yeah aps
is this in the same category as South African Marauder or it is a lighter vehicle?

hunvee on steroids
It is more like a baby MRAP.
Completely different
That cannon can destroy everything but MBTs.
Won't break IFVs
Try that against IFV's lol ....bad idea
M270 turret doesnt have armor piercing rounds.designed only against infantry
Hamvee is beautiful. Its ugly vehicle...(
