Hi Tracy this is beautiful! I have a question, why is it when I try to use a white gel pen on black it doesn't come out vibrant? The white is dull. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊
Thanks Christine. If you are using the gel pen over a coloured black background the ink needs to be really dry. Even if it seems to be dry, there could be some moisture still there which will make the gel pen look dull. I usually do a second coat of white in most cases to make it look brighter. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before adding another coat, the white gel will go on better. I hope this helps!
I am not having good results using my pentel white gell pen. I used a sharpie to fill in the black. The white turns to a pale grey and does not stay bright white. What gel pens do you recommend? Thank you.
I used a Sakura Gelly roll pen. Try letting your gel pen dry completely then go over it again to brighten it up. Sometimes the sharpie can stay a bit damp underneath so if your black background had any moisture in it the white will turn grey.
