To be fair maokai kinda gave him kill pressure with all of the ganks and got him fed. Also roaming and cleaning up fights. Realistically katarina has no kill pressure outside of someone helping her kill or the enemy completely misplaying until she is fed. You can very easily walk away from her daggers unless you are cced but she doesn't have any herself.
