I'm now taking a wild guess that current host Alfonso Ribeiro dreamed of hosting this series when catching a glimpse of such in between whenever he was serving as Carlton Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
I grew up watching this and would would enjoy watching it every day after school

I was born in 1982 this was my childhood. Plus Full House, Bob did both shows at the same time for a while. No Internet 👍🏻🇺🇲!

@@servantofaeie1569 While basically he had the 2 top shows at the same time same time and that was on non cable networks 9 cable channels whatever you want to call it which is pretty much unheard of nowadays I don't have to say today that's probably the last time that it's happened on the 1st time end last time

Bob Saget is the originator of this long running show. Tom Bergeron did great and Alfonso does good too but Bob Saget will and always will be the best host. He was taken from us too soon. Miss him so much. RIP Bob Saget :(
John Fugelsang and Daisy's Fuentes were also the hosts of Afv.
We're all older now, and some of the people we shared these things with aren't here anymore. This is why, for me, when stumbling across stuff like these old shows, it reminds me that it was real and is sorely missed. RIP to Bob ano those no longer with us.

Thank you for posting this. This was one of my favourite shows growing up, and it's never been re-released on DVD or Blu-Ray. Although my family didn't always get along, we would always sit down together and watch this while we ate dinner. It was the one show we all liked.
I just HAD to look up the episode that got me hooked on this show back in the day & watch it. RITSP, Robert Lane Saget.
RIP Bob Saget and he was a great host of AFV and he was a fantastic actor and a good comedian and we all miss you

I didn’t really consider Bob Saget a dad to me because I already had a great dad. To me, he was a lovable uncle that all the kids loved but had to be careful around drinks because if he had one too many, he’d start saying inappropriate things. RIP, Bob. You left too soon.

Ah memories of 1990....I would have been 4. Excitedly waiting for Friday night at 5 to go to the neighbor's to watch this. I was mesmerized by the TV studio...the residential theme in the background. It was a big deal for me to catch this every Friday...once in a while I'd miss it for some reason. Hard to believe that was '90 cause I have such clear memories of it...the world in some ways exactly the same, but also incredibly different. It's too bad Saget passed away so relatively young. Rest in peace.

When I was little, I always thought the family eating dessert in front of the tv actually lived at the studio.
I was in college when this was on TV. I didn't have much time in college to watch TV, but I made time for this!

I grew up with full house and America’s funniest home videos. What makes me so sad is I don’t think bob sagets death was an accident. I just still can’t believe what happened. He was so young. Although I thought he was cheesy on tv.. I always loved him. 😢
