Gosh, those a gallo palettes are SO pretty! This is absolutely one of those instances where a smaller brand innovates and makes something worth so much more than the big guys you see everywhere.
This palette would be so cool as a travel palette, I want it! I'm not sure if the magnets would keep it shut but it looks like they would. It's so beautiful. When you showed the brushes I was like "What!?" haha I wasn't expecting it to have space for brushes in it too.
I know! It feels like a hidden compartment. The magnets are pretty strong but I’m not sure how much jostling they can take. For me I haven’t had any issues.
I stumbled across your channel today and I am thrilled to have discovered you. I learned a tremendous amount about brushes and paper softness from this video alone. Thank you for everything
Oh what a wonderful video! When I was teaching uni at the University of Iowa there was a rare books room that had the most gorgeous illuminated manuscripts I used to go and spend hours looking at them, thank you so much for bringing back those memories!!
I just love her paints, especially the lapis lazuli, and the tiny squirrel brushes I got from her are now my very favorites!! I will be buying more of the tintoretto brushes for sure.
Lovely painting of Mary! I’ve wanted that palette for a long time but I can’t ever get on the website when a sale is going on. Enjoy yours for me! Thanks
I really enjoyed this video. You voice is very relaxing, and you give a lot of interesting information about history and art and the image you created is beautiful 😍👏🏻
Tintoretto immediately became my go-to, out of a collection of way-too-many brushes and brands, after getting one from (generous and talented) Alina Gallo. They’re perfection for how I work. I have two now, and I wish I had several more so I can break myself from treating them as too precious to risk damaging. Thank you for sharing the review (even though there’s no way in the world I can invest in more art supplies right now!). I love the sense of connection with ancient traditions, too. The painting came out lovely-I don’t think I knew that Mary was the origin of the old “blue is for girls” :D
Beautiful box I have a different brand of illumination colours, alway appreciate looking at historic palettes and wonder how the medieval artists achieved some of their amazing results given everything had to be done from scratch.I guess they got nurtured, if you can call it that, from early on. One mistake would have been immensely costly. Still this really well thought out palette is beyond my means, it is certainly an object of desire. The brushes look really nice, and the big one looks exceptional. Many thanks, you always bring ussomething of interest.
I’ve wanted to get a set of agallo, but it just got too frustrating to attempt it .. they’re sold out the day they launch their inventory .. I gave up trying.. .. really beautiful to watch you paint with them , though.. thank you
Thank you for making me aware of this company! While I'm not willing to spend that much rightnow, I think their stuff is icredibly beautiful, both colors and palette, and will save them for later consideration ♥
Sadie, what a beautiful painting of Our Lady! And thank you SO much for all the information. I am so very happy I found you (better late than never). That palette is one of the items I just ordered from A. Gallo so I am very grateful that you reviewed it. Much love ❤️
I think the wood should be fine. A lot of the Victorian watercolour boxes were made from hardwood and are still holding up perfect today. Btw the plastic should be fine after a few paintings - just don't be tempted to scrub or scour it with wire wool. Give it time and it'll be as good as any enamel surface.
It always confuses me why it is now considered that’s blue is for boys but pink/red is for girls. Red = anger and aggression but blue = calm water. ~ aspie
This is a weird company to deal with. First of all the paints are obscenely expensive for half pans, and then there’s the shipping for which I was quoted 40 euros (about $80AU). Then there’re the perpetually sold out status. I waited for the 28th of September only to find that they sold out at the blink of on eye and they are now posting see you in October. No, I didn’t think so...
Video and everyone: "G-rated discussion of Lapis Lazuli in Christian art" Me: "So, Michelangelo's painting of the Last Judgment..." Is that Amalfi paper the same Amatruda that's in a lot of places in Italy, the one Manufactus uses?
I only use synthetic brushes no matter what as I don't want any squirrel or other animal to die to become a brush for me while there are good synthetics. a moral thing for me.
@@MsVanorak how? how would a squirrel sit still like a sheep to be shaved without biting and fighting? sheep need to be shaved as their fur get very thick in the winter times and is too hot for summer time and for them to natural lose their fur in summer time takes weeks or more so they shave them and use the fur after that for making cloths. what often goes rough in sheep fur farms till bleeding cuts and bruises. a squirrel needs it's fur all year and won't sit submissive still like a sheep does. they get killed for their fur to end up in clothing and brushes. the ways of their deads diver. but most of the time not very pleasant or humane. catched in traps for days to start with without food nor water till the hunter comes to see what's in the traps.
@@MsVanorak they get catched in trap cages.. they usually small. then either gassed or electrocution to not damage the hair. so they die to give hair. around 10 years ago I saw a video of a weasel getting skinned alive for their fur. the brush world isn't transparent about how they get the hairs. but the animals die for sure.. how.. well that's not sure who gets hair from where and how the hairs are gathered. but either way from above mentioned ways.

Thank you so much! I know these are not the most talked about topics, so I’m happy to share

Lovely painting of Mary! I’ve wanted that palette for a long time but I can’t ever get on the website when a sale is going on. Enjoy yours for me! Thanks
They’ve gotten so popular that it’s pretty hard! I hope you can manage and enjoy your own someday!
What a beautiful video! I learned more in this short time in all my painting journey. Your painting is amazing xxxx thank you so much making it. Xxxx
Hi, Sadie! So how are the tips of all your Tintoretto brushes holding up? Are they still sharp?

Such a lovely travel set! I wish they made gouache! I may have to buy these for a watercolourist friend.
Absolutely beautiful work, thank you for sharing! ❤️
Which brushes did you get in the set?
This was wonderful, Sadie. I bought the box as well. It’s just exquisite.
Isn’t it gorgeous? Alina did such an amazing job

The hair in those travel brushes looks like that of the Casaneo brushes by Da Vinci, which are also really nice.
Oh wow that’s really interesting. I wonder how they compare 🤔
@@SadieSavestheDay Only one way to find out. :P
Lovely, are the pan holes standard?
Wow I'm sorry I didn't watch you sooner! I learned so much.
Lovely! She's so delicate! 💜💜💜
What a beautiful set and a great video! Thank you! 💜
That was so relaxing to watch, thank you. 😊
I’m so glad 😊

They just restocked. So pretty but pricey!
Lovely! Thank you.
Thank you!
Beautiful postings!!!
Thank you!
Another brand is: Lutea, couleurs végétales, made by Anne-Sylvie Godeau She lives in Belgium. lutea@lutea.be/ www.lutea.be
I’d love to try these one day
I wish you had have swatched the colour so we could've seen each individual colour on it's own.
The entire website is sold out of everything.
It also says "Taking a summer break, next restock in September" :P
Yes, but you can sign up to be alerted when they have restocked.

Lovely.
Doe anyone else also really want A.Gallo stuff but are too broke?

Wow expensive £165
To be fair, these are totally handmade and support independent craftspeople. But I understand it cannot fit in every budget.
Quitting buying expensive luxury stuff, we can always find way out, if we r true art loverssss. Lol
