I agree as an owner of an all black Corvette. But I use Turtle Wax products made specifically with black that work very well. Use their detail spray when it gets dusty and waterless car wash if it is dirty. Use a car cover on it when it sits in the garage. Does require more effort to keep clean, but I enjoy detailing my black Corvette.

you should have bought a ppf for it when you bought it. The paint would be protected so no scratches and chips

I dont care wht anyone says...Black cars are the best color on a car!!!! with tht being said its a bitch to keep clean and it almost makes u obsess by just you keeping looking at ur car esp if ur car is parked outside 24/7 like mine. Im not gonna lie my next car color might be a diff color just so I can breath a lil bit 😂😂😂. as soon as I wash it I have to rush to make sure the water spots dont stay on, and there have been times iv had to wash it twice just for tht lol....other color choice id pick thts not a pain to keep clean is the dark matter gray colors, dessert storm sand colors on a certain car of course, and then the military green colors

The nicks are due to your wife's poor driving -- include a bottle of touch-up paint with your purchase. The dirt is due to your poor washing. Just get the right type of cleaning products e.g. a big porous sponge, several chamois drying cloths, tire and wheel cleaner, tire dressing, etc. and the job will be quicker and easier. Always get a new pad when you buff it and keep the buffer moving to avoid swirl marks. .
Yes, it does require washing more often if you want it to look good. There's just no way around that. So if you're the lazy type, where you car only gets washed when it rains, do not buy as black car.
For the record, almost any color car can look good, but a black car always looks more mature, sophisticated and elegant. A black car is also accepted anywhere without a critical whisper or raised eyebrow.
In case you're wondering if a black car is hotter. That too is exaggerated. I've done the test myself with a black car vs white in full 90+ full summer sun. The interior different was 1-2 degree Fahrenheit depending on where in the car the thermometer was located.
