Grizzly Bears - These two Grizzly Bears are at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Their name are Cody & Cooper They are brothers who were orphaned at 4 months of age when their mother was shot and killed. The Montana Dept. of Fish, Wildlife & Parks cared for the cubs until they were sent to Cleveland. (Cody &Cooper are now 13 years old.)
Grizzly bears are a sub-species of Brown bears. Brown bears are found in the U.S., Canada,
Europe & Asia. Grizzlies are generally found in North America. In the United States most are found in these five states: #1 is Alaska, then Montana, Idaho, Wyoming & Washington
All Brown bears are omnivores. They eat both plants and animals. Things like berries, roots, bulbs of plants, pine nuts, insects, then moose, elk, goats and sheep . Males weigh about 900 pounds
