I have been to the masjid of Malik Ibn Dinar, if i am not wrong the story goes like this, 12 people came along with malik dinar(RA), and spread out to different places in india, it is believed that when first malik dianar came to india, a lower cast indian untouchable offered coconut drink to him, as gratitude Malik Dinar hugged him, this was unknown to the local untoucable man who is socially boycotted, he was first convert to islam in india. there is a mosque in my city as well which is believed to be built by him, that place has a vibe like you have entered into the past. Like everything in life is stopped.
This story is truly amazing.... i knew there were casts, but didnt have much inforation about it, as if it was religious or cultural, and this information of some being untouchable is soo cruel, i really feel for those people, i hope this tradition dont exist anymore

Cheraman juma masjid in my hometown kodungallur is the first mosque in India. Legend has it that cheraman perumal a hindu king at the time of Prophet s.a witnessed moon splitting and enquired about it everwhere. He had dreams of our Prophet s.a and when he got information from arab traders visiting kodungallur (which was a flourishing port at the time) he travelled to Mecca met prophet s.a and converted. On his way back he got sick and died in Dhofar area.

He then accepted Islam and named as Thajudheen(RA). On his way back he died in Oman cost, and his khabar is there in Salalah. (Mustadrak Al hakim reported this ). Malik dinar RA and some other swahabis started their journey to india along with Cheraman Perumal, reverted king from Kerala,india. The king fell ill and died in salala,Oman. Malik dinar n companions continue their journey with a letter given by the king before his death to his poeple commanding them to give all the help and land to build mosque. They landed in Kodungallur. The first mosque was built in kodungallur, trissur known as Cheraman Perumal mosque. Malik dinar and companions build 10 mosques in kerala and the 8 th one is the malik dinar mosque in Kasaragod.
The man that represented his good deeds - are there two different narrations about that? Because I remember reading/hearing that it was an old and weak man and not a well dressed man as shaykh mentioned in this video.
Kerala had Sahabas (RA) visiting and buried in Irikkur, Quilandy etc. one of the king’s accepted Islam at hands of blessed Prophet (sws) and while returning has passed away and is buried in Salalah Oman. It is said rest of the companions continued to Kerala. Some say Malik bin deenar RA was in that company and he was a Sahabi. Allah knows best. Even in Tamilnadu some of the Sahabas are believed to be buried there, like Uqasha RA. Some Sahabas who participated in Badr are said to be buried in Malabar area of Kerala. And Allah knows best! North Kerala also has influences of Qadiriya, Suhrawardiya, Rifai, and Shadili tariqas too from very early days through Arab traders. We can also find Jifri, saqaf, bahassan, alavi kabeelas from Yemen and Saudi in North Kerala.

There are 5 to 6 mosques built in India during prophet Muhammad's SAW life, but which one is the first, it is not confirmed, because a mosque has been found in the state of Gujarat, which is now completely ruined and its Kaaba is built towards Baitul Muqaddas, Isn't it amazing?
The village name is Kasaragod, in Kasaragod dist. in Kerala, where I belong to. Unfortunately the people around raised up his grave and celeberating Uroos every year in his name making it another grave yard worship. There is a moulood of Malik Ibn Dinar kept in the masjid, one of the stories contained that once he after a magrib prayer spraying water westwards and when the followers enquired about it he said that there was a fire engulfed the tents in Arafa that time as it was during the Hajj season. And when the Hajjajis came back from Hajj they reported to have said that there was a fire in the camp and put off by a rain from the eastwards. Such false stories are being propagated until now. Allah may bless him and guide us all to the straight path.
Why do you think they are faulse stories when there always have been unexplicable miracles, "emboded" ( because every miracle comes from Allah 3azza wa jal ) especially by very pious people ? I am not saying these particular stories are true, only God knows, but assuming at first hand that they are false is in my opinion wrong.
Iwl to add that i beleive these people are just celebrating the event of Islam brought by the great man ra, it has nothing to do with "grave worshipping". I would go there if i had the opportunity to, not to worship the grave, but in memory and in gratitude for what the man did, yes i would like to read al fatiha on his grave. Don't people do the same , visit the graves of their late family members, and friends...
The first masjid build in India is cheraman masjid and it was build in 629 AD as it is stoned on that year so my confusion is how can it be a tabieen as Rasoolullah's wafaat is stated at 632 AD AD ....i don't get it ....
