    Be sure to save after making all these changes. Press write, then select system. Once completed, press shift+write to save the kit and pattern. Otherwise, it will all go back to it's original state when you turn it back on.

    • @UnitE808

      @@LifeLoope3 setting ptn and kit to Last does not save them. It simply selects the last ptn and kit you had loaded on power down for the startup ptn/kit. After making that setting, press Write and select System. Confirm with OK.
      You must press Write then select Pattern and confirm with OK. Do the same with Kit. Alternatively, Shift+Write to save the ptn/kit together.

    for firmware 2.0 i wish they add direct sampling in the machine like on the mc 707

    • @UnitE808
      @UnitE808  4 года назад +1

      The hardware won't allow it. They would have to build an mk2 and incorporate that, which won't happen. The MC-707 and TR-8S compliment each other nicely!

    • @dankefurnichts
      @dankefurnichts 4 года назад +1

      @@UnitE808 yea i know ... but hope dies at last or so :D well i will see how far i can come with both. sampling on the mc is ok, but they could improve still a lot there. i think the waveform grafix should be inverted. you can barley see the waveform in the actual state. and few more sample edit options of course too. (especialy the loop function! for me its now unuseable, cause you can nearly do nothing with a looped sample)

      If you changed patterns, you may have changes kits along with it. Have you pressed the kit button and made sure it is the same kit number as the kit you were working on?
      Have you performed a backup in those few days? Any updates or factory resets? Did you erase some samples from the TR-8S? While they are imported from the card, the samples must stay on the TR-8S memory to be used.

    I think I just realized there's no way to move an individual part forward in time by a few milliseconds. For example adjusting the timing of a clap to land just a few milliseconds before the snare for a desired effect. Does anyone know if this is actually possible on the tr8s?

    • @UnitE808
      @UnitE808  5 лет назад

      Sadly, not possible yet

  • @CLW1209

    how do I save the tune/decay/ctrl levels of each track within a kit? For instance I've worked on a project, saved all and now want to start a new projec. if I then change the knobs from how they were set in the previous project, would I have to note the levels down so that when I went back to a project, I could set the knobs levels back to how they were?

    • @UnitE808
      @UnitE808  5 лет назад

      Its saved to the kit. If your new project uses a different kit, you will be fine. If using the same kit, I would copy the kit to a new kit number and use that.
      If you work on a new project and go back to the old one, all parameters will be there as they were, it doesn't matter where the knob position is. I keep the knob mode on catch just for this purpose. This way, I have to move the knob to the set value before anything changes.

    Please help me. Where is the click track/guide instrument when recording in by playing? It used to be called TAP WRITE on my 707 and here it is called INST REC. But where the hell is the guide click?? On the 707 it was there at the touch of a button. I cannot find it anywhere or any mention of it in the manual. How are you meant to play-record in without a metronome or guide? The fact that the word "metronome" does not appear at all in a drum machine user manual is an utter slap in the face to real musicians.

    • @UnitE808
      @UnitE808  4 года назад

      There is no click track/ metronome. I usually put down a closed hat on the downbeats in TR-REC mode to use as a click track for recording the instruments live in Inst Rec mode.

    • @theoriginalheartstrummer
      @theoriginalheartstrummer 4 года назад +1

      @@UnitE808 thanks very much for your reply confirming this. To me this is a ridiculous oversight; something that was obvious in the early 80s is now not important to them anymore. It's of course frustrating to have to do this every time when the beat length is 8 bars as you have to put it in for 8 bars then take it out again rather than just get going with recording. I appreciate your reply and your instructional videos. I have a few gripes with this thing and it's difficult to know what is a limitation in understanding and what is a limitation of the unit itself. Cheers.

    • @UnitE808
      @UnitE808  4 года назад +1

      @@theoriginalheartstrummer I agree a metronome would be nice. My workaround is to lay out the click on variation A. Then I hold copy and press A , then b,c,d,e,f,g,h. That will copy the click to the other variations quickly. I think you'll see a metronome in a future update
