Graduate fellow Bethany Radcliff details what it's like working with students and educators, interacting with the collections, and gives her advice to anyone interested in being a Fellow at the Ransom Center.
The Harry Ransom Center has introduced thousands of students to original materials that inspire discovery and creativity. You can help expand our teaching by supporting two new graduate fellows over the next two years. Our Advisory Council has launched a fundraising challenge and will match your contribution dollar-for-dollar. Double your impact by giving today!
Graduate fellows have an unparalleled opportunity to learn best practices for teaching with special collections at the Ransom Center. By working closely with students in the Center’s classrooms, fellows build skills for teaching primary source literacy. This immersive experience, extensive mentorship, and supported practice helps prepare fellows for a range of careers in the humanities.
The Ransom Center’s remarkable collections offer incredible opportunities for teaching and learning that we believe should reach every student on campus. Working with primary sources not only builds research skills but also helps students make personal connections to history, deepens understanding, and sparks questioning and creativity.
We hope you will take advantage of the generous Advisory Council match. Your gift will support new graduate fellows whose work over the next two years will help us reach our goal of sharing the wonders of the Ransom Center’s collections with every UT student.
You can learn more about this project at hornraiser.ute... or use the enclosed response form to make your gift today. As always, we are deeply grateful for your support of the Ransom Center.
