I was born into Orthodoxy (I'm a Serb), became an atheist for a couple of years in high school (o figure), returned to the Church, served as a reader, etc, but my comfiness had brought me to theological complacency. I could refute arguments on a basic level, just good enough for my conviction, but you have expanded my knowledge immensely, and strengthened me in the faith.
Truely, as heaven rejoices when a sinner repents, so should the Church when people convert, you converts are a true blessing, as you've undergone questioning we never had to, and are better armed than a lot of us.
God bless you, coverts, America has given us many wonderful apologists and faithful, not to mention father Seraphim Rose.

I listened to the first hour at least three times. I finally felt so guilty I subscribed, the second hour was well worth the small investment. I look forward to future episodes about Orthodoxy Jay.

Finally getting to this one! Learning so much! Thank you! Palamas helped get out of the RCC! There’s is no comparison in my spiritual life since discovering the Orthodox way of asceticism and hesychastic prayer.

@HolyHammerOfByzantium I never said I was humble. I’m barely learning to repent. Didn’t mean to be uncharitable to individual RCs since I was one for years! I’m just so grateful to have found the fullness of the faith and to drop the errors of the RCC. May God guide you!

The introductory music in this video sounds like "The Thomas Crown Affair" opening music...

Many of my drill sergeants in the army were high level masons. also, satanism was tolerated and accepted. so was worship of odin. the whole process and experience was saturated in occultism.

My drill sergeant was the devil himself, it was that bad.
But fr, I see alot of weirdo pagans in the army too. I wouldn't be suprised if freemasons cover the vast majority of roles in the mil.

I recommend using CC(closed captioning) to get through to about 20 minutes in where it ends

Please use better terms for knowledge
Distinguish between soul or intellect and spirit which knows by encounter and experience of gods self revelation. This seems to make better sense and is not clarified by the Aristotelian position of a body soul hylomorphic union. But our spirit can aside from discourse of the mind encounter and rest in divine love.

Question: you make a distinction in Logos/Logoi video that God's creation (action) is not the same as his essence/nature. Yet you are criticizing Aquinas for desacralizing nature for saying that nature (the earth that we see and live in) cannot tell us about God. What is the difference here/ am I missing something?

The way you do things demonstrate who you are. But they aren’t analogical to who you are.
