- OK, so I knew I would be passing the Big Meadow Trailhead today, but I had no idea that meant the Tahoe Rim Trail would wind through miles of meadows...all day long! Each one was spectacular in its own way, leading me on an endless wildflower hike. Plants were blooming left and right, some even taller than me! This was certainly the most magical day on the TRT so far.

What a great day. I hope when you look back on this hike, you’ll remember days like these.
I certainly will!
What a beautiful hike you had this day. I love seeing your experience there. Looking forward to the rest of your trip.
My favorite day so far. The lakes were incredible and the meadows were spectacular. Happy Hiking
Mine too!
Those fig bars have been my go to trail breakfast for the past year. I just love them. Beautiful footage today. Those purple/blue flowers....❤.
Good morning! That little critter was a Rock Chuck. I hike Teton National Park a lot and there are dozens of the little critters. They are sneaky at stealing food. When I’m hiking in the heat, I fill my hat with water and then put it on. Not good for keeping you looking fine but great for cooling you off. I also soak my bandana in the creek, roll it and tie it around my neck. Love the scenery. Thanks for taking us along ❤
Thanks for the info! I’ve never heard of a Rock Chuck.
@@JoyfulRamblerrock chucks are also know as yellow-bellied marmots!
The flowers are always pretty in early summer on that section of trail. I stayed at Benwood Creek on my thru-hike. No bears, but tons of mosquitos and LOTS of people pooh. It was pretty disgusting. Your campsite was a much better choice!
We have a store called Meijer. I priced those breakfast figs out today and a box cost six dollars for a box of six.
Ugh, inflation! They used to be 1/2 that. 😞
