Empty stage. 0 decorations, 0 props, 0 blows and whistles. Just pure fuc*** perfection in every move. If he did that now in 2023, he would be called a genius and all that, but the man did that almost 30 years ago. I love him to death. The world didn't deserve this man. God bless him.

The 1999 one is cool but it doesn't stay as good to the original. I don't think the Smooth Criminal bit in the 1995 and 1999 versions really fit

Just to be even clearer, this was Michael Jackson at he's ABSOLUTE BEST. You make a really good point that I never thought of, but it was definitely him that picked them, how truly lucky
@@jodeciS I agree and you are absolutely right about MJ picking his dancers. He could not afford to work with anything less than the best to perform at the level that was his. This was clear in the part of This is It where the dancers were auditioning.

Michael took out the Indian dance hand gestures at 4:19 but retained the feet stomping just after that in his 1995 versions. Whichever he improvised it is always refreshing to see. Inspired by all races to unite all races. This is what he'd always been doing for us. Remarkably talented with a beautiful soul.
yes, that is kind of a Bharatnatyam "mudra" or finger gesture.. I never noticed it. thank you.. It looks billion times cooler when king of pop does it..such an angel.
at 4:04 he always missed the cue (when he goes like "BAM" along with the music and raices his arm), just because he had too much energy when dancing even more faster that any of his dancers (even at his late 40's at the american bandstand performance), he rarely hit that cue.
I love that he is smiling as the crowd applauds him. He definitely deserved all that love and affection for being such a talented person, and not only that... but also for having been an angel on earth
@Blazer9970 The point us usually backup dancers and choreographers are better than the singer, but with MJ it was the exact opposite, and he made it look too easy.
