The bike computer on the rear handlebars is such a nice touch!
@@brrrt6666 thank you very much ! my kid is enjoying it already
Lold at you testing out the back G!
😂😂😂 gotta try
Shifting both derailleurs in one hand? I am a happy man already just by think about that.🎉
give it a try! its quite good actually !
What?! No bottle in the bottle cage? Gary, we held you to a higher standard! I have an old Trek 930 that's screaming to be a cargo bike but the conversion is just pricey. "Quick Watson. Bring the tax form!"
@@kenlang6672 😂 do it up! will be sick
i would be so tempted to bunny hop this beast! great upgrades 🎉
If someone could wheelie this id be seriously impressed 😂
hahah cheers mate, a bit heavy ay, maybe off a small jump or something
Nice mullet cargo bike! 😍👍👍👍
cheers my dude! might try mullet on my kona 😆
@@garysprojects that will be sick! 😎🤙🚴
Fun to watch fun to watch
cheers mate thanks for watching !
Excellent!
thank you very much !
I had the original kickback double stand back in the day. was awesome for working on the bike, especially taking the back wheel off. someone find one for gary!! also just wish someone would make a kit like this again. and the bags. i don't think there's any cargo bike bags quite like this anymore - maybe the surly big dummy ones but don't see that they'd work on other longtails
yes! ive looked at that stand before, looks great ! wish i could find one. maybe ill have to try and make it myself 😆😆😆
@@garysprojectsgive it a whirl, id watch a stand building video!
cheers mate, ill see what I can find!
@@garysprojects hell yes i believe!!
Honestly, I've been feeling bad about how some of my recent builds have actively fought me on what they should be vs. what I want them to be. Anyway, some of the things you had to deal with, and some of your "roundabout" fixes made me feel a lot better about what I've got sitting in the garage. Once I've got a certain pink beast of a bicycle under control, I'll make sure to drop it in the cue for a good roast.
@@digthemedium ya sometimes you gotta get close and then revisit it to do the other things later ! in addition to what i said at the end of the vid , also want to chuck on a fatter/knob tyre on the front , always something pops up haha
Can't go wrong with Xtracycle! Solid build Gary 😎💪🏽!
thx my dude , love the xtracycle !
Good dad bike!!
thank you Rhys ! This one keeps the kid & i happy 😆
Ok, everyone, it's time to roast Gary on this project, 😂😂
I'll go first:
1: different colour Kenda decal on front tyre (yellow) to rear tyre (white)
2: Non match water bottles
3: Gary for roasting himself on super long uncut cables... no wonder there's a worldwide shortage of gear and brake cables!😅
ROAST AWAY!
PS: love ya work, Gary
Cheers
Sven
@@helenfulford2040 hahahah nice one cheers Sven!! 🤣🤣🤣
Sweet dad bike.
cheers mate !
fav bike on the channel !
@@simoned19 cheers mate !
Lotsa logistics in your shop on this one! How did you figure out the correct crown race size?
i just put the fork in and see if the crown race lines up flush with the bottom of headset - in this case there was a gap so i had to switch it to the original one
I imagined that the 24 inch wheel on back would make more of a difference...🤔
@@buckbuchanan9807 ive been riding around a fair bit and it feels pretty good, more stable for sure
Cool. Any change in ride height is long negated by the extended length. Looks fun
@@the_nondrive_side cheers ! haha yeah was referring to the height on the passenger seat but dont think that changed too much either 😆
@garysprojects I caught that. Little slacker steering but that longer length probably tames any ill effects if any exist. Probably all in all better. extendo mullet... XT!!
ya pretty comfy ! cheers
Nice
cheers
Great work tailoring the bike to your needs, i think 26x2.2 vs 24x2.4 the difference in diameter overall is about 5mm or 2.5mm in height. Does that seem about right?
@@glennpettersson9002 cheers ! i cant remember the exact measurements but you see the difference in the shots towards the end of the vid, will measure the wheels next time im on the bike
🔥🙌
HOT!!
@@vernerjuliussen2071 cheers !
Do you have to carry this rig up and down stairs to get it inside?
@@seraphan6 nah ! luckily not
What info comes up on the rear display? That would be real fun for a kid.
whatever her imagination desires ! ill ask her next time haha
Hey mate not related to this vid but could you tell me the best clear coat you could use, planing on striping the paint of my bike and going with a raw steal finish, cheers
go for a 2k clear coat - its two component, has clear & also a hardener, it will give you the strongest finish cheers
@@garysprojects thanks for that man cheers
@@garysprojects how much will you need for the whole frame will one can suffice
@@user-ye7vp8ll7m yeah that should be enough
@@garysprojects yep is spray max a good one
Whatdya doing with that RD cable? Its not supposed to match the length of your bike!
BOOM! ROASTED 😂
hahah that's actually a pretty good roast.....
too bad its short by the end of the video, nice try though 😂😂😂
I'm gunna roast you for having you seat too far forward, drink bottles that don't match. Although the yellow bottle matches the MAXIS logo so I'll give a point back for that. Roast for no valve cap but at least the valve is opposite the logo so I'll let you get away with it. Plus it also saves a bit of weight.
Over all a pretty sick build. Well good !
@@UnhingedHarry 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks Harry
