🕚Above the Time MV Interpretation🕑
So You&I MV begins with clock showing time at 11:40.
Above the Time shows clock at 11:55 which is the time after IU has already left Hyunwoo in You&I.
After IU had left in the time machine in You&I, she had been looking at Hyunwoo through the paper house in Above the Time.
Above the Time shows that when Hyunwoo pours water, IU receives it and when IU drops the goose feather, Hyunwoo recieves it.
This makes Hyunwoo realize that their worlds are connected, so he turns the time to 12:20 which is the time shown on the clock on Hyunwoo's wrist which IU drew in You&I. After turning the time, he meets IU in the dream world.
Then, they spend a dreamlike time together.
After spending a dreamlike moment, Hyunwoo wakes up on the roof alone. He looks at his wrist to see the clock gone and he cries thinking that everything was just a dream.
But then, he opens his hand to see IU's drawing of the flower on his hand and he smiles as he realizes that it wasn't a dream.
Hyunwoo decides to get IU out of Above the Time (boat) to You&I (book) by taking a ladder from the book and sending it down to the boat. He checks the book afterwards to check if she went back safely.
Then, they meet again at later part of the You&I MV at the chocolate shop. (The time on Hyunwoo's watch at end is 12:20)
So basically,

so basically u need to watch IU song that released in 2011 ( 8 YEARS AGO) to understand this SONG AND M/V since this song is U & I CONSEQUENCE SONG

*Above the time MV* is sequel from her previous *MV YOU AND I* (8years ago). In YOU AND I MV, IU thinks a lot of ways to wake him (Lee Hyun Woo) up when he is asleep. Iu tries to meet him in the future through time travel.
Iu puts watch doodles on his wrist and goes to the future (2019).
But they cannot meet right away because in You and I MV, Iu came to the future through time travel, so there was a transformation of time and space. Thus, 2 people in diferent dimensions cannot meet directly in the concept of time. She know him but he doen't notice that she is there. So she draws a goose feather from You and I MV to him.
You guys should react to *YOU AND I MV* . That's a really popular song. And Iu is queen of PAK (Perfect All Kill).
the MV is actually a continuation of the storyline in her mv for the song You & I which came out in 2011
Her songs’s lyrics are so deep , she’s so talented
*"Above the time"* is *linked* to her old song *"U & I"* there is a meaning of their time travel.
IU’s like South Korea’s biggest soloist! Everything she releases immediately rises to #1 on all official Korean charts and she’s known as “the nation’s little sister”. She’s respected and loved by everyone on the country don’t matter the gender or age, from little kids to adolescents adults to elders, it’s normal for them all to love IU. You technically already reacted to Jungkook’s cover of Ending Scene (he’s like IU’s biggest fan by the way lmao), but she has a lot of other amazing songs such as BBIBBI, Palette, Twenty-Three, You and I, Good Day, also her bsides are gold like The Visitor, Lullaby, Love Alone, Zézé. She’s also an actress and she writes and produces most of her music.
