Angel Quintanar would love to see the video in which I picked patron, can you reference that? I've only used patron a handful of times and never has it ranked in a blind tasting. Our picks were Alma, Riazul, Cabo Wabo and Tres Generaciones.
Herradurra is a great tequila! Learned about it from Emmitt Smith. Got fortunate to find it in Georgia on a business trip. Well worth it! When I go back, I'm buying every bottle that they have!
It's probably just a rebranded product, what's the NOM number on the bottle? I cannot get alcohol at Sam's Club or any other store, if it's not the NH Liquor Store...so I wouldn't have ever seen it.
I tried Patron Silver a month ago for the first time, I wondered what the hell I was drinking, why do people rave about it, why is this so tasteless and such a plain scent. The hype made me think I was going to be in flavor country but I found myself in disappointment country.
Hi, Derreck, I'm from Belgium. After a bit of searching I found a liquor store 30 miles from my house that also has these brands; Aha Toro, Don Julio, Herradura and El Jimador. What would you pick? Thanks.
Cool video on patron! I'm a fan of it, but I've been trying don julio lately and found it quite desirable. Going to try Cabo next weekend. Great energy!!! Thanks!
Simply a fantastic video. Have you tried Kah or Dulce Vida? If so, what are your thoughts on those over proof tequilas? (Above 80 proof tequila). Kah makes a Reposado that's 110 proof and Dulce Vida (Blanco,Rep, and Añejo) is at 100 proof.
I just finished your video on cooked/autoclave/diffuser brands. My question is which method does Cabo Wabo fall under?? I'm very new to this information you talked about concerning tequila. Thanks for your response.
Patron Silver is 100% Agave and is best for mixed drinks because it is neutral taste.. your comparing apples and oranges.. the Patron that is 'reposado' or aged gets some flavor from casks.
how do you feel about pueblo vejo? the bar i work at has like 3 different kinds of it. they really recommend it and to me tastes pretty good but how does it rank in your opinion?
@@cmcocktails I mention it in a long comment earlier about Siete leguas and patrons relationship you have to try it. It's the lower level but very good quality from Santa matias
Hey, what do you think about Olmeca Altos reposado and plata ? They cost 19.99 in our country, and I think its very legit. And have you tried Sierra Milenario ?
I have Sauza Conmemorativo - Tequila Anejo. Is that a good brand? My brother told me it was. But is there a difference between silver and anejo, and if so, which is better?
+Virginia O'Malley añejo is better, and sauza is a decent brand. the difference between silver and añejo is that an añejo has been aged in a barrel for over a year while the silver hasnt. greetings from mexico!
Well I don’t like to argue with the natives but I don’t find that’s the best tequila, even for the money. But it’s good and Mexicans love the stuff. And my taste buds are not the universal truth on the subject
Hey guys, I just want to thank you for helping educate people on my favorite spirit. I may only be 22 but I have tried more than 40 tequilas and right now my favorite añejo is from Don Eduardo($45 in AZ). If I wasn't a broke college kid I'd send a sample lol. I'd love for you guys to try it and tell me what you think. As far as budget tequila, around 20 bucks, my choice would probably be El Centenario reposado. I haven't tried riazul yet but next time I need to buy tequila I'll look into it. Thanks again guys and keep up the good work, I love all your videos.
Raizul and Cabo will run ya less than 30 bux here in Louisiana and Tequila is my favorite and I am a patron fan but I am about to try all of these.this a cool vid
they have it at the local liquor store here in NH, I don't think I've tried it, maybe at a tequila bar but I don't remember, there are a lot of brands out there.
Its amazon prime day today and i have the choice between two prime day deals, Patron Silver (70cl - £29) and Don Julio Blanco (70cl - £32). Imported tequila is very expensive in Europe (England) and Patron at that price is very good but i only want one. Which should i get?
Common Man Cocktails i know i know u hate patron but i must admit i like their anejo. Complexity with a smooth finish is what i get from it. Sure there are others thats around thats better per say but what about availability? Its pointless if i have a hard time finding the juice! U never have that problem with patron and they have something for everyone (although i would have to take out a loan for the gran patron on up)
That's not true in the case of Casa Dragones Joven "sipping tequila". It is diffuser made, additive laden, put in a fancy bottle and pushed by Oprah and Martha Stewart at over $200. I haven't had it but those who know good tequila say it is sickeningly sweet with no agave taste whatsoever,
@native 361 You should do a blind test with your friends with many of the different tequilas mentioned here and see if Patron is still your stand by tequila.
what do you think the price of that Patron Silver 750ml should be? just curious. in my area Patron, Don Julio and Cabo Wabo are all about the same price.
as stated below, I would put it between $22 and $25 for taste, but would be okay if they overpriced it to $25 (still wouldn't buy it, but at least it's more reasonable)
***** cool thanks. there were a lot of replies to go through, missed it. I also forgot to mention Herradura is priced around the same as the other 3. I also use Hornitos reposado for cocktails. so many tequilas to choose from nowadays. and everyone has a favorite.
What do you think of Milagro. I am not a big tequila guy though I do enjoy it fairly regularly. I was pretty surprised at how good it was without being really expensive in my area.
I love you man! Seriously, once you get to know someone who knows their shit, their passion can win you over! I do this everyday for a living and I can relate to your delivery! Keep up the good work! BTW, IMHO, Cabo Wabo Rocks!
Couldnt agree more with you man! And for the price of that stuff... ugh... sad. Have you ever sampled Camarena tequila silver? One of my favorite tequilas for the money. El padrino silver is another one of my go to’s.
Discovered Camerena silver a couple yrs ago on Cinco de Mayo when sold out of the usual suspects, and its distributed by Gallo spirits,1/3 cost of patron very smooth , no twitch in my back or had to lemon/salt. Cuervo traditional silver or gold close in flavor. It's a cost point for me. Sabor' !!
Have you tried Jose curevo platino its about the same price as patron if so what did you think of it....you may have already mentioned this in another comment but I was curious to what you thought about it
Hornitos Reposado...Maybe I stagnated WAY too early but I tried the Jose Cuervo gold and hated it, went to costco and bought a Reposado Hornitos for $24 and I can take straight shots of this all day (though I would prefer a splash of lime or Triple Sec). Thing is, people need to stop listening to when someone says "DRINK A REAL XYZ" because taste will always be subjected. When you got to a new store and see other tequilas and shrug and go "eh, I'll just keep drinking the one I have at home until I get sick of it" you know you found a good tequila. Now if only I could find a good sipping rum.
taste may be subjective, but giving someone something with barely any taste for 2x the money as something generally better (or on par with the same product for 2x more), that's not as subjective. My goal is to change people's perspective, more than their taste.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. but I’ve personally spent multiple days and night at Casa Patron. They productive an incredible product. It might not be your cup of tea, and you may not like the mainstream aspect of it, but the product and production is top tier.
Sure everyone can have an opinion but mine hold that they can have the best production in the world ... but I don’t drink their production :-) the end result is sub par considering all the production that goes Into it. I have simply had way too many brands and styles to be happy with the product they produced
More expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. Some people have the misconception that the more you pay for something, the better it is, and while that may hold true for some things, it doesn't really hold true for spirits. For example, as much as I hate Glenfeddich (spelling?), as it's very low end for a single malt scotch, I still prefer it to any of the products that Johnny Walker comes out with (all their whiskeys are blended, and way too expensive for blended whiskeys.
This is because, in this industry, ultra premium means more money. But, what is "ultra-premium"? It's a word that means "more money." The two words really relate to each other, not to the product within the bottle. It's not unusual for a product to be put into a top shelf class because the owners want it to be there and the only way to get it there (aside from making the best product on the market) is to price it higher. People fall for it, and life continues unchanged :) I believe it is because people fall in love with brands, logos and bottles. On top of which, it's a product category that, despite being recession proof, a product that's not as good as another product becomes a matter of opinion to some...and not black and white. If you buy a really expensive car and it breaks down, costs you tons to fix and isn't reliable the chances are you'll avoid that car (and maybe even that brand) in the future. So, you can't just make the car bright and sexy and say "this is worth a lot of money", people put serious effort and research into car buying. Because, it's expensive, it lasts awhile and it means the difference between getting to work or not getting to work. When buying a spirit..the same emphasis isn't there, so it's easier to "forgive" a sub par quality product and spend more money to do it again :)
I haven't tried Cabo Wabo but, would like too Although I do feel Don Julio is the BEST thus far... having said that I would never use it in a cocktail but, for shots only. On a side note what do you think of Correlajo (blue bottle)
***** I just wanna thank you for posting this video... I just had to try Cabo Wabo & having tried it I will NEVER buy Don Julio again! It is much better BUT, I do prefer a patron in margaritas because I can taste it... Cabo Wabo & Don Julio so good & so smooth that you can barely taste them underneath all the other ingredients in a margarita. Having said all of that I will continue to try the other tequilas you recommended & also continue to keep Cabo Wabo as my shooting tequila. Thanks again, Love your videos... been watching you since u first started & you've improved very nicely.
mistaken29 if you want another tip, once that Patron bottle is gone go buy Hornito's Plata for a quarter of the price. Because, as you said, underneath all those other ingredients you aren't getting the full effect so...why are you spending double for something you're hiding? Get a better silver for less money.
I picked up a bottle of Cabo because it was Sammys. I liked it a lot, but was reading on line how bad it was so I started trying others. Wow am I glad I did. I still buy Cabo but have found a whole new world of tequilas.
Have u tried 123 tequila? Tried the blanco for the first time the other day and loved it. Similar price to casamigos but better imo. Should do a review on that when u get the chance
+brevpressarn I don't know, I've got no sense for the Swedish economy, taxes or what you pay for alcohol there. For me, that bottle is $19.99. So, it's a fair price if it's about what a silver tequila costs there.
Around $60 in tax per liter 100 % alcohol. Smirnoff costs $25 per 700 ml bottle and Jose Cuervo Especial costs ~$23 for a 500 ml (!) bottle for some strange reason
I forgot to mention: Yes Cabo Wabo is fantastic stuff. Even their Anjeo is sold. I've even made a few Bloody Marias with their Anjeo and it adds soo much more to the flavor.
Go for Don Julio 70. Maestro Tequilero (Diamante Dobel). José Cuervo Platino (Reserva de la Familia). This is are top 3 every day tequilas in Mexico. 30 to 50 usd range.
You can sip any 100% de agave tequilas...”made” for sipping..? Depends on who you ask :-) tequila is made for drinking and you choose how you drink it. I use anejo as my sipper but I also don’t typically sip spirits, mainly build cocktails
+Common Man Cocktails From what I've read and heard from the testers around the world, Avión Tequila has been the #1 for the last 4 years and still running strong.
yeah, I don't listen to testers around the world. I listen to my own palate and report back to myself. It didn't even rank in our top 5 when we did our blanco blind tasting with Hornitos, Cabo Wabo, 901, Paqui, Cielo, Tres Generaciones, Espolon, Corzo, Cavalino, Milagro, Partida, Don Julio, Alma, Republic, Riazul, Piedra Azul, Kah, Dos Lunas, El Gran Jubileo, Señor Rio, 1800 and Avion. The top came out Cabo Wabo, Tres Generaciones, Alma and Riazul. However, since then we got our hands on Sparkle Donkey and that has lead the charge in a lot of our tastings since then.
+Common Man Cocktails I understand where your coming from, you just owned a store but you have zero credentials that can back you up, it's only your opinion vs people who know the business, and are the best critic in the wine and spirit industry of the world. If magazines and top critics state that Avión tequila is the best of all where are your credentials to dispute their claim? I think you should confront them and state your claim or be a top critic who is known.
Listen, you asked me my opinion, is it the best. The answer is no. I really don't have any desire to be a certified tequila critic (although one of the folks that did our tasting was indeed a certified tequila critic). Honestly, I don't care what they claim as it has no impact on me or my own personal results. I don't have to listen to what others are claiming to decide if I like something or not, I use my own 8+ years experience in tasting to do. To ask me my opinion and then tell me that I'm a nobody without credentials and disputing someone else's claim is quite ludicrous, no? lol. I mean, hell, one of our panelist is a certified tequila taster and I am not sitting here defending the tequila's we chose--you can take it or leave it. You don't have to try some of the best tequila I've ever discovered, that's totally up to you. But, damn straight I'll tell the subscribers my opinion every single day of the week! :)
I'm confused as to why you think I've got a problem with people buying Avion, I'm not sure where that is coming from--if you're a fan of Avion then by all means, keeping buying it!
I have never liked Tequila and it could be because when I turned 21 I went to a liqour store to get a bottle of everything (teq, gin, vodka, rum, scotch etc) and the guy suggested Jose Cuervo gold and Hornitos and I found them both unappealing. This video makes me think I should revisit it.
That's fine, I don't typically buy it because it's expensive, and I can get similar product for a much less. But, if you're looking to spend some cash, at least that's worthy of the dollar.
Not sure if you've tried G4, but I would take that over almost anything, though it's a little close to my "top shelf", so to speak. If you want an excellent quality blanco on a bit of a budget, Tapatio is also excellent, and it comes in a 1L bottle, not a 750mL. I'm in CA, so it's likely different for me, but I paid $34 for the Tapatio. The agave and earthy/mineral flavor that comes through with Tapatio is exquisite. It's my daily driver for sure.
Tequila changes, it’s true. Cabo has been changed, as has casamigos, and patron. All for the worse, that’s how it all plays out when money and margins come to play. I’ve not had Cabo recently but I know Patron and Casamigos are not worth $30 a bottle let alone the crazy prices they trick you to pay, even the smaller guys make better product
@@cmcocktails I disagree patron juice has stayed the same consistency for a long long time. If you visit there hacienda and see the process involved you would understand the price point related to it. Obviously the market has unfluxed but it's nothing to donwith the production more so the transportation, supply demand and the increasing overhead on the distribution side. Tequila ocho is the tequila to drink atm.
@@MrSlavic23 you can disagree, but it doesn’t make you right. Patron changed their early recipe, everyone in the industry knows they built their reputation selling Siete Leguas under their label. It was (and still is) a fantastic product. Of course times change and margins must be increased and a new independent distillery was born. Luckily this is all known because Mexico enforced NOM ids on the bottle, can’t hide facts 🤓 Of course as you have proven, humans have short memories and nobody “knows” how the got their name out with a fantastic product then swapped it out when things got big.
Common Man Cocktails What do u think of Milagro silver select barrel reserve that goes for 49? or there plain Milagro Silver that goes for 28 here. If u haven't tried it please get both of these Tequila and make your own review on who wins? And what they test like? to compare them to another Tequila brands.
Sorry, that's not how we roll ;) I can't just go buy every tequila someone tells me to or I'd go broke. I have about 2 requests per day over the last 3 years for a tequila I 'must try' :) Never was a fan of milagro (standard), never did well in our blinds. Just too boring.
no problem men :D and ok I just wanted to know if u did or not. And that's cool man everyone has there own test :) All we have here are Patron or 1800 or Camarena that I haven't test yet or the Milagro and Herradura or Sauza and That's all.
I don't have any of the others, but they'd have to be mind blowing to be considered considering the pricing. Don't have olmeca, the only olmeca I've had is integrated into coconut rum in the Malibu Red product.
Great vid!!! I normally drink cazadores reposado, but with relatives and special occasions i drink herradura silver and reposado. Don Julio is amazing too but it's like 7 bucks more expensive than herradura. Herradura is really the best tequila in my opinion because they put so much effort into their brand. Even their silver is rested 45 days. I occasionally buy patron just to blow smoke in front of my other friends, i drink like one shot and let them have the rest, Lol. Not a big fan of patron. Not close to the 50$ price tag.
Adan Lopez it didnt even rank in the honorable mention in our blind tasting. I coudn't tell you exactly how it tastes as I only had it in the blind tasting we did with 22 other tequilas, but I know it didn't even make the top 15.
I got scared away from tequila since I tried Jose Cuervo Gold one shot I gave it away complete crap. Now I was looking at 1800 now i'm scared to try that too because same distiller so whats your opinion on Don Julio?
you may not like the taste, that's fine. Having been to the Patron Distillery on their bartender immersion program, I had similar opinions about Patron prior. You really have to try the Roca Series, where the agave goes through 100% tahona mill vs 50% tahona in the base line. They really do put a lot of work into their product. It's also quite difficult to get hungover drinking it straight.
Hornito's is my go-to for margarita parties because it's got more flavor than patron for over half the price. I can get 2 bottles for the price of a higher tier tequila and the folks drinking the margarita's are blown away. Why? Because they're used to shitty margarita's at restaurants using processed bottle sour mix and jose cuervo gold. It doesn't take $55+ to impress them :)
I mean, it depends... I don't really care for either, but 1800 has more flavor to it, it's just not that interesting to me. I know folks like it and all, just never been a fan. I have a bottle, it works fine in margarita's but side-by-side with other things it's not that fantastic. That being said, I'd still select it over Patron...but that's like saying "so, out of the two things you don't want, which do you want?"
@@cmcocktails something similar to patron. But cheaper in price. In the midwest a 750ml is 50 dollars(don't know if its the same in all states). I need a $30 bottle
I'm not a fan of Patron either maybe when I was younger and didn't know any better but as I learned more and more about spirits I have grown to love tequila and since I've tried so many I could never buy Patron because there's so many better 100% agave tequilas on the market for way less. I was curious have you ever sampled Patron's more higher end line like Gran Patron for example, and if u have what was your opinion on it ?
I don't recall but I've heard it's good...granted, I've heard their standard stuff is good too... but I've got no doubt their higher end stuff is fine, but I don't want to spend the money when I can get stuff cheaper that's lovely.

Cool video on patron! I'm a fan of it, but I've been trying don julio lately and found it quite desirable. Going to try Cabo next weekend. Great energy!!! Thanks!
thanks!
Don Julio silver is same price as patron. But the smoothest in Don Julio makes a big difference. You should tried this tequila...I love it!!!
Simply a fantastic video. Have you tried Kah or Dulce Vida? If so, what are your thoughts on those over proof tequilas? (Above 80 proof tequila). Kah makes a Reposado that's 110 proof and Dulce Vida (Blanco,Rep, and Añejo) is at 100 proof.
mfowl777 yes, I have all three Dulce Vida tequilas all at 100 proof. The Kah brand never ranked well in our blanco tasting.
you're at fucking taco bell!!!! lmao
sorry, discussion fell off the rails for a minute or two :)
awesome channel amigo. keep up the good work. subscribing.
kjre jn Thanks!
I just finished your video on cooked/autoclave/diffuser brands. My question is which method does Cabo Wabo fall under?? I'm very new to this information you talked about concerning tequila. Thanks for your response.
It’s unknown, but assumed to probably have been cooked, you’d have to do some digging through some tequila snob sites to see what people are saying
Patron is good but something like Camarena or Cabo Wabo will give you same quality at a lower price, especially the Camarena is a good deal
Patron Silver is 100% Agave and is best for mixed drinks because it is neutral taste.. your comparing apples and oranges.. the Patron that is 'reposado' or aged gets some flavor from casks.
Nope I am comparing blanco tequila against dozens of other great Blanco for the same price or cheaper
But....Sammy Hagar is AWESOME!
how do you feel about pueblo vejo? the bar i work at has like 3 different kinds of it. they really recommend it and to me tastes pretty good but how does it rank in your opinion?
never heard of it.
@@cmcocktails I mention it in a long comment earlier about Siete leguas and patrons relationship you have to try it. It's the lower level but very good quality from Santa matias
+lionofgod9 you need to turn on the ability for me to reply to you in your G+ profile... or link e'm
Hey, what do you think about Olmeca Altos reposado and plata ? They cost 19.99 in our country, and I think its very legit.
And have you tried Sierra Milenario ?
1800 over Patron and it's made by Jose Cuervo
1800 is the most OK tequila ever - the Wendy's iced tea of tequila haha. But it definitely is better.
Yes I go for 1800 añejo , good stuff😎😄
I have Sauza Conmemorativo - Tequila Anejo. Is that a good brand? My brother told me it was. But is there a difference between silver and anejo, and if so, which is better?
+Virginia O'Malley añejo is better, and sauza is a decent brand. the difference between silver and añejo is that an añejo has been aged in a barrel for over a year while the silver hasnt. greetings from mexico!
I'm a regular Mezcal kisser. But Fortaleza is my new fav tequila.
Best 1
I was hoping someone would give Fortaleza some love! love the little hint of smokiness
How do you feel about Sauza tequila or more specifically Sauza 901? A review or breif comment would be great! Thanks for the informative videos!
+travis christley Here you go: everydaydrinkers.com/2009/05/13/901-tequila-review/
Our Latino staff selected El Jimador for our house tequila cocktails.
Stefan Buckley
Jimador is great for mix drinks. Only!!!
Well I don’t like to argue with the natives but I don’t find that’s the best tequila, even for the money. But it’s good and Mexicans love the stuff. And my taste buds are not the universal truth on the subject
Us Hispanics like Buchanan’s, so I’m weary of most other cultural tastes because of that stereotype we put on ourselves.
Thanks
Raizul and Cabo will run ya less than 30 bux here in Louisiana and Tequila is my favorite and I am a patron fan but I am about to try all of these.this a cool vid
Riazul is definitely one of my favorite brands I've had in my years of tequila tasting. Cabo was our blind tasting champion until Siete Leguas :)
Gran Cava Oro extra Anejo
did you find one that you like more?
i must say this. a good tequila is a tequila that you enjoy. 🚴♀
A lot of people think Sammy was a better singer than David Lee.
That's because he was. Van Halen took off after Sammy joined them
the cowgirl in that one video is better than michael anthony, that's for sure.
Sammy is a better singer. Dave is a better frontman.
Have you ever tried Corralejo? Curious on your opinion on it. I've had the opportunity to try Corralejo from Mexico and man it's killer.
they have it at the local liquor store here in NH, I don't think I've tried it, maybe at a tequila bar but I don't remember, there are a lot of brands out there.
What do you think about Avion Tequila
Its amazon prime day today and i have the choice between two prime day deals, Patron Silver (70cl - £29) and Don Julio Blanco (70cl - £32). Imported tequila is very expensive in Europe (England) and Patron at that price is very good but i only want one. Which should i get?
Patron ($38)
Don Julio ($41)
+Whocares05050 I sure as heck hope a $200 bottle is better than a $55, or something is wrong with the world!
Maybe, but look up Chivas Regal whiskey. All they did was raise their price and, and people thought to themselves "Must be a great whiskey".
Common Man Cocktails i know i know u hate patron but i must admit i like their anejo. Complexity with a smooth finish is what i get from it. Sure there are others thats around thats better per say but what about availability? Its pointless if i have a hard time finding the juice! U never have that problem with patron and they have something for everyone (although i would have to take out a loan for the gran patron on up)
Common Man Cocktails the traditional is half the price of patreon in here :D
That's not true in the case of Casa Dragones Joven "sipping tequila". It is diffuser made, additive laden, put in a fancy bottle and pushed by Oprah and Martha Stewart at over $200. I haven't had it but those who know good tequila say it is sickeningly sweet with no agave taste whatsoever,
@native 361 You should do a blind test with your friends with many of the different tequilas mentioned here and see if Patron is still your stand by tequila.
Great tequila suggestions! Never heard of any these but they sound awesome!
Cabo mixed with Tabasco sauce. Yum
what do you think the price of that Patron Silver 750ml should be? just curious. in my area Patron, Don Julio and Cabo Wabo are all about the same price.
as stated below, I would put it between $22 and $25 for taste, but would be okay if they overpriced it to $25 (still wouldn't buy it, but at least it's more reasonable)
***** cool thanks. there were a lot of replies to go through, missed it. I also forgot to mention Herradura is priced around the same as the other 3. I also use Hornitos reposado for cocktails. so many tequilas to choose from nowadays. and everyone has a favorite.
What about Trago Tequila. I just bought 7bottles 750ml for just $99.00 after buying one and trying it out. Wow thought it was great!
What do you think of Milagro. I am not a big tequila guy though I do enjoy it fairly regularly. I was pretty surprised at how good it was without being really expensive in my area.
I'll pass on Milagro.
i love patron and other shampoo paul mitchell makes
+Eet Chit HAHA so true..... NOT!!
+millionblades i was joking paul mitchell owns patron, he also owns the island mnsion where the producer of the xmen raped young boys in ,, drink RUDO
😄
I love you man! Seriously, once you get to know someone who knows their shit, their passion can win you over! I do this everyday for a living and I can relate to your delivery! Keep up the good work! BTW, IMHO, Cabo Wabo Rocks!
Thanks
Hey if you're ever short someone for tastings, fly me over from Ireland. I've a black belt in alcohol consumption.
Couldnt agree more with you man! And for the price of that stuff... ugh... sad. Have you ever sampled Camarena tequila silver? One of my favorite tequilas for the money. El padrino silver is another one of my go to’s.
I think I've had it once upon a time, I can't remember.
Sabor' !!
El Mayor Is a pretty decent tequila in my opinion.
Have you tried Jose curevo platino its about the same price as patron if so what did you think of it....you may have already mentioned this in another comment but I was curious to what you thought about it
nope, just Tradicional
Kaniche XO
I've not had a lot of time with Correlajo, so I don't know. Only at friends house, but I didn't sit down to taste it.
*****
I just wanna thank you for posting this video...
Wow Cabo is what got me interested in tequila
I picked up a bottle of Cabo because it was Sammys. I liked it a lot, but was reading on line how bad it was so I started trying others. Wow am I glad I did. I still buy Cabo but have found a whole new world of tequilas.
Have u tried 123 tequila? Tried the blanco for the first time the other day and loved it. Similar price to casamigos but better imo. Should do a review on that when u get the chance
no, never heard of it.
Awesome insight into the world of tequila. Thanks man!

Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado is approx. $41 here in Sweden. Do you think that's a fair price for the product?
+brevpressarn I don't know, I've got no sense for the Swedish economy, taxes or what you pay for alcohol there. For me, that bottle is $19.99. So, it's a fair price if it's about what a silver tequila costs there.
Around $60 in tax per liter 100 % alcohol. Smirnoff costs $25 per 700 ml bottle and Jose Cuervo Especial costs ~$23 for a 500 ml (!) bottle for some strange reason
$80, because Canada....
because LCBO mafia
😂
Haha your free healthcare tax! Poor Canadians.
@@Mikey-ym6ok the free healthcare is worth it
@@jakelund3159 It's not free my dude. I know Canadians pay a heavy tax for the "freehealthcare"
I forgot to mention: Yes Cabo Wabo is fantastic stuff. Even their Anjeo is sold. I've even made a few Bloody Marias with their Anjeo and it adds soo much more to the flavor.
Yes it is! :)
Go for Don Julio 70. Maestro Tequilero (Diamante Dobel). José Cuervo Platino (Reserva de la Familia).
This is are top 3 every day tequilas in Mexico.
30 to 50 usd range.
Maestro!!! ❤
Newbie question: Are blanco tequilas made for sipping? Can Patron blanco and Cabo Wabo silver be sipped without mixing?
You can sip any 100% de agave tequilas...”made” for sipping..? Depends on who you ask :-) tequila is made for drinking and you choose how you drink it. I use anejo as my sipper but I also don’t typically sip spirits, mainly build cocktails
Is Avion tequila the best? It's the only one I drink.
not that I know of
+Common Man Cocktails
From what I've read and heard from the testers around the world, Avión Tequila has been the #1 for the last 4 years and still running strong.
yeah, I don't listen to testers around the world.
+Common Man Cocktails
I understand where your coming from, you just owned a store but you have zero credentials that can back you up, it's only your opinion vs people who know the business, and are the best critic in the wine and spirit industry of the world.
Have you tried Tres Amigos or Corazon? If you have what are your thoughts on these two.
I've had Corazon once, I couldn't tell you anything memorable about it, it was a long time ago.
Thank you for making this video, I have been telling my friends and family that Patron is bad tequila. I call it overpriced dirt water. hate Patron.
thanks!
Loved the rant!! I am going to have to watch the full silver review. We have been looking for a Patron killer.
Siete Leguas, watch that one.
I think that avion silver is a great tequila
I agree! but common man told me Avion did so "poorly" that he didn't feel the need to actually do a review.
Espolon is okay, ranks up there with Hornitos Plata. Plata is slightly more interesting but Espolon has a better aroma.
Tucson JJ yes, for the price of espolon, its hard to beat that.
I'm confused as to why you think I've got a problem with people buying Avion, I'm not sure where that is coming from--if you're a fan of Avion then by all means, keeping buying it!
it didn't do well in our blind tastings, not much I can do about that, it's a blind tasting...you don't know the brands...for a reason :)
I get my bottle of patron for 22$ in Sherman Tx behind the Walmart liquor store
fidel vilchis stock up and resell lol
Theres not a liquor store behind sherman walmart?
Thanks for making all your videos love them all !
What about DON JULIO? I like that one
That's fine, I don't typically buy it because it's expensive, and I can get similar product for a much less. But, if you're looking to spend some cash, at least that's worthy of the dollar.
I'm so glad you finally made this video.
I look forward to more blind tastings! Especially a reposado one
Thanks
Answer of the day in response to your question of the day: Jack Daniel's
Thanks for your thoughts Derrick, once again very insightful.
Thanks
Thank Sammy for Cabo. A good Tequila at a fair price.
Just buy Jon Julio or Cazadores. Can't go wrong with those two.
I assume you mean Don Julio, and yes, we own it.
People sleep on Cazadores it is absolutely the best tequila
+Jason Clokes drinkin' it right now
The game is about consistency. This video didn't age well. Cabo wabo is now complete trash. Patron is still gold.
But at the end, the video still holds up. Patron isn’t worth buying and other brands still do it better
Luckily this is all known because Mexico enforced NOM ids on the bottle, can’t hide facts 🤓
Of course as you have proven, humans have short memories and nobody “knows” how the got their name out with a fantastic product then swapped it out when things got big.
I say go Cabo or Don Julio, there the best
They're
what town or city do you live in? just curious. btw. good videos!
I live in New Hampshire
I'm in Goffstown and can't believe I've just now started seeing you on you tube. Thanks for the good videos
ah, not too bad, just outside manchester, we're in Hudson on the opposite side :)
Jose cuervo is crap! sauza isn't bad for a tequila. Luna azul is a better tequila for margaritas. :)
sauza, as long as the sauze is 100% de agave
Common Man Cocktails What do u think of Milagro silver select barrel reserve that goes for 49? or there plain Milagro Silver that goes for 28 here. If u haven't tried it please get both of these Tequila and make your own review on who wins? And what they test like? to compare them to another Tequila brands.
Sorry, that's not how we roll ;) I can't just go buy every tequila someone tells me to or I'd go broke. I have about 2 requests per day over the last 3 years for a tequila I 'must try' :)
Never was a fan of milagro (standard), never did well in our blinds. Just too boring.
no problem men :D and ok I just wanted to know if u did or not. And that's cool man everyone has there own test :) All we have here are Patron or 1800 or Camarena that I haven't test yet or the Milagro and Herradura or Sauza and That's all.
out of those, I'd pick Herradura every time.
I love Anejo tequilas. So I've heard that I should try the silvers before getting their anejos. And what are some great Anejos to try?
G4 and Fortaleza
Corralejo Reposado.
Yeah. That one's great bang for the buck for sure.
Preach
The best azul the blue bottle love it.
Is it only the Silver you don't rate or the Reposado and Anejo too? Is Olmeca any good?
I don't have any of the others, but they'd have to be mind blowing to be considered considering the pricing. Don't have olmeca, the only olmeca I've had is integrated into coconut rum in the Malibu Red product.
Don julio is the best tequila out their
Clase azul
Don Julio 1942 is Yummy😛🥃
Great vid!!! I normally drink cazadores reposado, but with relatives and special occasions i drink herradura silver and reposado. Don Julio is amazing too but it's like 7 bucks more expensive than herradura. Herradura is really the best tequila in my opinion because they put so much effort into their brand. Even their silver is rested 45 days. I occasionally buy patron just to blow smoke in front of my other friends, i drink like one shot and let them have the rest, Lol. Not a big fan of patron. Not close to the 50$ price tag.
yeah, I leave the bottle around for taste tests and such, but don't use it myself (on purpose)
Adan Lopez it didnt even rank in the honorable mention in our blind tasting. I coudn't tell you exactly how it tastes as I only had it in the blind tasting we did with 22 other tequilas, but I know it didn't even make the top 15.
Are Olmeca Altos, Gusano Rojo or Arrete good brands???
I don't know, if they're low cost 100% de agave products it's worth trying I'd guess.
All 100% Agave, Olmeca Altos and Arrete around 27 Euros here, Gusano Rojo 37 I think.
I got scared away from tequila since I tried Jose Cuervo Gold one shot I gave it away complete crap.
Now I was looking at 1800 now i'm scared to try that too because same distiller so whats your opinion on Don Julio?
Don Julio's fine, 1800 is real, I just don't care for it myself. But, it doesn't rank poorly or anything.
you may not like the taste, that's fine.
I'm a Patron fan.I have tried other silvers.Don Julio is my favorite so far and it's a little cheaper.I'm going to try Cabo Wabo next.Great video!
Thanks!
is there any chance patron taste like water?..one of our guests told our bartender it taste like water indeed!
Lmfao lost it when you said that ain't a real Mexican restaurant that's fucking Taco Bell 😂 I know the feeling
how do you feel about espolon tequila? i really enjoyed the anajo
Not sure, there are hundreds of brands out there, hard to taste them all (and at least remember if they had anything special about them)
As a younger drinker, on a budget, I'm recommend Hornitos or Camarena silver. In my opinion they're real good for the price.
*****
Nothing like NH liquor prices to really, REALLY make it worth it :).
Because of you I bought Hornitos for a get together, and it was a huge success. There was not one person that did not like it.
What is good tequila that is cheaper than Patron??? Need to Know ASAP PLZ...
I'd start here :) ruclips.net/user/everydaydrinkerssearch?query=tequila%20review
@@cmcocktails SIDENOTEB: If u think 1800 is better than patron we can't be friends or trust your judgment 🤣🤣 Thanks for responding tho 👍🏾
Common Man Cocktails I feel you on that, why spend extra anejo prices for a silver
