I just graduated college and will start working for a large GC as a field engineer this January. Finding your channel and watching your videos have been a huge help for me to prepare, especially since my internships have been in heavy civil, but my full time job is in commercial building. Thank you for the great content and keep it up!!!
Studying CM and set to start full-time this September. Really appreciate the knowledge and perspective you’ve gained during your time in industry. Love your videos and will be recommending them to others in my major, keep it up!
Builder here! Not being that guy but the end of the tape slides out the thickness of the tape measures end. So you can “butt” or “pull” and get the same measurement. But it is still more precise holding on a reference point due to things getting dinged up with use.
I thought I was overwhelmed in your other video about building a building from a high level, and now I’m more overwhelmed hearing about these small details. So much to keep track of! I see why you work so much now lol
Good advices my friend, I subscribe to your channel. I work for a EPC company, we build power plants The most tricky issue are scopes of work of each subcontractor, having good and detailed contracts with each one is the key to avoid future problems
As a new PE just coming out of college, I found this to be a great help to consider things maybe I hadn't before and I'm glad to have these tools moving forward! Your videos are fantastic and I recommended that my companies student interns check your channel out. Keep up the great work!
Do you find it’s just our generation that doesn’t want to pick up the phone? I definitely see your point in the importance of verbal and in person communication, esp in construction!
I’ve seen both sides. Its just sometimes people just take the easy route and shoot off the email without thinking about how it can be read and perceived when it comes out of nowhere
This was great! Waiting for a part 2 :) - having problems managing change, what is your typical process for SIs and making sure all subs are working off the latest revision?
Thanks so much Nicole! Its always a challenge especially when these are issued while work is already going on. We have our own redline set of drawings through our own website or BIM 360 docs. Usually the best way is to physically go out there and manage it with the field as the changes go in.
Bruh...literally my PM my first job outta college, we literally sat by each other and he'd sent me an email and I'd look over and he's just busy focusing on his screen. Don't mind him sending email but follow up by saying..hey i just sent an email could you do that for me? But instead he just pretends nothing happened lol

I know this isn’t the goal of the channel but hard hat merchandise for your channel would be cool 😂
Hahahaha that would be unique!
What if you mess up a project will you be fired
nice!
Work out of sequence, having to go back doing certain things rewinds flow” 😐
By the way, any of the viewers who work with Kienen also follow him on RUclips?
Hahahaha they’re all sick of me preaching at work
You lose be me when you start using feet and inches
Hit that like BUTT-TUN
