    Very impressive

    • @Easypeck
      @Easypeck 3 месяца назад +25

      Wouldn't that make it slightly easier? He's moving at the same speed with both hands (in terms of distance traveled) so the circles actually help tell where on the 11 he should be when he's using the 7

    • @arniebradecina7111
      @arniebradecina7111 2 месяца назад +6

      I think it's harder since he also needs to focus where to land the stick. Your hand won't automatically hit the spot when it's on the top of it. You still have to move.

    • @robublind7528
      @robublind7528 Месяц назад +1

      @@Easypeck exactly he's using his position on each circle to time his beats, all he has to do is keep his movement around the circle fluid and even and not miss. I would like to see him do one with just one pad on each side and tell us if it was easier one way or the other.

    • @royalexodus2666
      @royalexodus2666 4 дня назад

      @@Easypeck most people brains want to do things in parallels or mirror the same movements. If your right hand goes right your left hand also will want to hit rightwards, so hitting on a different place non adjacient to where your other hand is hitting is very, very difficult. it would be easier if it was an odd on even polyrythm, in which one hand would be constantly be hitting the same mark at the same beat every full measure. What you say would work on a 7/8 or 6/13 even, but 7/11 has a loooot of silence between each stroke, and all of those pauses are not even in duration, so there is no constant way of cheesing this.

    • @swiddle1
      @swiddle1 2 месяца назад +8

      @@xol9331 Yep, I was kidding. Though I suppose the counting method might work with 3:4 for some folks. Count from 1 to 12 over and over, hitting left on 1, 5, 9 and right on 1, 4, 7, 10. Or do it with an analog clock that has had the hour and minutes hands removed and the second hand somehow sped up to the desired tempo. Strike left each time the second hand reaches 12, 4, 8, and right on 12, 3, 6, 9. (Or do it one-handed by striking on 12, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9.) Yeah, I doubt anyone on earth actually does any of it this way. Also, I suppose you could think of the 3:4 rhythm as (yes, no, no), (yes, yes, no), (yes, no, yes), (yes, no, no). (Or replace yes/no with strong/week, hit/rest, boom/tic, etc.) Just brain storming. I'm no musician, obviously.

I haven't met anyone in my life who could pull off any polyrhythm just by looking at the numbers.
